I canāt really remember what this blog was about when it existed but I kind of miss rambling on the internet, so here are some things Iāve been enjoying enough to do fanfic about while not very on tumblr:
Gideon The Ninth: bullheaded jock and extremely goal-oriented geek obsessive solve wacky puzzles together in a setting thatās like āwhat if Warhammer 40K but people had emotions about things other than the glory of the God-King (but also they still fucking love the god-kingā. Is funny. Has lesbians.
(thing I wrote: The Consequence A Life Requires: what if that very bad thing that happened at the end of the book happened the other way round?)
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice: this is a video game about having ridiculously cool sword fights in a world of political structures right about to fall apart. Fucking up too much makes people to fall ill with a plague, so in other words, pretty much like our world but with better choreography. Itās a lonely, melancholy game, but you can bring people booze and hear their weird life stories.
(thing I wrote: Hope, help, resolve: Emma did not expect her professional life to involve this much sword fighting. I also wrote about what if the final boss fight had EVEN MORE MELANCHOLYā)
The Magnus Archives: I feel like this is big enough on tumblr that folks prolly ambiently picked up on what it is, but: starts out as a series of spooky monologues slash mildly haunted office drama, slowly reveals an arc plot where terrible people make even worse choices and yet I still like them all.
(thing I wrote: Other Duties As Required: Sasha James applies for a job and gets it. also, about how Agnes Montague Definitely Knows How To Do Smalltalk and various other snippets of fun with this cast of awkward monsters doing their best people impressions)
Control: this is a video game thatās 30% about a giant brutalist office building thatās also an inscrutable extraplanar intelligence, 30% about imposter syndrome, 20% cool ass environment design & well written snippets of creepypasta, 10% about how cool it would be to be able to just telekinetically fuck up your work, and 10% gunfights that I did not particularly care for but tolerated in the interest of the rest being exactly my shit.
(thing I wrote: this fanfic that has zero plot but is just about how the protagonist is freaked out about giant portraits of her spontaneously manifesting all over the place.
