i have two (if theyâre even hot takes)âŠmy hot take is that effie and plutarch arenât superior to capitol citizens for displaying empathy and the only capitol citizen who is is sejanus. he not only spoke out against the games but also questioned every decision dr. gaul did AND tried to help people escape the capitolâs chokehold.
another one is that gale isnât evil for being callous. you canât hate gale and like johanna, who also thought the capitol should have paid for what they did to the districts. he was simply misguided and awkward, since he doesnât relate to katnissâs experiences with the hunger games (i am not shipping katniss and gale, theyâre more like siblings).
i donât have many hunger games moots, so iâm hoping this will get me some more <3 @haymitchyappernathy @the-songbird-and-snake @5gumhargreeves
happy july 4th! in honor of reaping day, here are all of my (current) victor ocs! i might post my other hunger games ocs tomorrow, and maybe a few different fandoms after thatâŠidk. for now enjoy.

DELIA THISTLE BAIRD: MS. UNFORTUNATE
Name origins: âDeliaâ/âDeliaâs Goneâ
District: District 12 representative, Covey.
Relations: Lucy Grayâs cousin.
Age: 17
Post-Mockingjay age: Deceased
Arena: For the 30th games, the arena had a mediterranean climate, and focused on streams and valleys. The twist? The days would be scorching hot, making movement unbearable. The nights were freezing, making many too frozen to move. Mutts were rabbits with fox teeth and chameleons with poisonous saliva. âEarthquakesâ happened frequently.
Winning: She won by forming many alliances and sticking to them. An older gentleman from District 8 and her were all that was left in the alliance nearing the end, and when he died due to infection and starvation she was pronounced winner. She hadnât even realized that they were the last two left.
Aftermath: Upon coming home, she was greeted with celebrations and surprises. When she moved into the Victorâs Village, she noticed that her house had the thick perfume of roses. She didnât think about it too hard, assuming it was from herself.
After a few days of sitting in the house, she got sick and weak. While Clerk Carmine tried to nurse her back to health, her body gave in to exhaustion. She died soundlessly.
Arena: For the 21st games, the arena was dense and thickâa jungle riddled with vines and roots that made it easy to trip. Rain was constant, so there werenât any lakes or streams. Mutts were parrots that perfectly mimicked the sounds of other tributes. They only appeared nearby dangerous spots to get tributes to go towards them. There were also beetles with needle-like legs, so when they crawled on you all of their legs would puncture your skin.
Winning: She utilized the parrot mutts to trick the pair of District 2 tributes into a trap where a net would catch them and the beetles would be disturbed. It worked, and two days later she had won.
Aftermath: Electra never went home. She was sent back to the Capitol, where Snow would sell her alongside many other victors. Every time she refused, one of her friends were murdered.
After she turned 30, She was sent back to District 3 where she hid in her house until the Rebels regrouped them in District 13. After the war she mainly stayed at home with a few other families and watched television. She wasnât in great shape, so she couldnât do much.
Arena: The 42nd games had an arena that never went to sleep. It was always day, and the scarce bit of trees offered little protection. It was a farm-like meadow littered with growing crops and flowers. To many it was the safest arena, given the crops were edible. However, some had parasite-mutts that would start to eat you from the inside out. Another mutt was bees that bit instead of stung, and caused tributes to pass out for a day or twoâmaybe more.
Winning: Emmer fought and killed four tributes out of 24, including the tribute standing between him and victory. When fighting the district 5 tribute, Emmer used the sickle he had obtained in the Bloodbath and gutted the tribute completely, digging out his organs to show the capitol. It wasnât meant to be mistaken as rebellion, though.
Aftermath: District 9 was silent about his return, unlike with his sisters Rye and Jasmine when they came home. Everyone avoided him at the ceremonies and celebrations. Seeing what he had done to that District 5 kid shook everyone to their core so hard that even people at work avoided him.
Eventually he was deemed mentally unfit for work and school, and was put under the supervision of his two sisters in the Victorâs Village. His mother cut contact with him as well, refusing to let his brothers near him. His sister, Jasmine, was his main caretaker. She showed up at every event with him and made sure he didnât act out.
He was killed during an unexpected bombing on District 9.
Arena: The 41st games were extremely different. It was a desert-like climate with no trees or water nearby. It was mountains and sand dunes mainly, and the sky was always cloudless. Only the bordering the arena mountains had water, but most of the packs in the cornucopia had jugs. The mutts were rattlesnakes that shocked you once they bit and caused delusions if bit multiple times. There were also rats that had extremely strong teeth, so they could bite into anything. They only lived in the mountains, though, and were introduced near the end of the games.
Winning: Jasmine and a District 11 tribute were left. She was chased back to the cornucopia, which still had a few weapons left, including a brass mace that looked heavy. Using the little strength her malnourished body had, she picked it up and swung blindly until she heard the heavy thud of the girl. When she opened her eyes, she saw that the girlâs skull was crushed due to the mace and slamming into the cornucopia. Blood had painted her whole face red. It haunted Jasmine.
Aftermath: For the first year, Jasmine partied. She didnât work or resume school, and befriended everyone in the town. When Emmer came back, she shifted into full-time caregiver. She devoted every second to easing his crazed state and violent mind, making sure he doesnât act on impulse and kill or hurt someone again. She mightâve been traumatized, but not as badly as Emmer.
She escaped the bombing just before it happened with her sister, and together they fled to District 10. From there they were transported to District 13, and fell into routine. When the war ended, Jasmine stayed active to keep death behind her door. She danced and taught and learned and did everything she could to forget about Emmer and her family. She never wanted to remember the games again.
TERRA LARKSPUR: THE PROPHET
District: District 2
Relations: Tina Larkspur (Sister), Quartz Larkspur (Mother), Grant Larkspur (Father).
Age: 18
Post-Mockingjay Age: Deceased
Arena: The 40th arena was a swamp; dreary and gloomy. The sky was dark regardless of the time, since the canopy of treetops hid the sun. Pools of murky water were everywhere amongst the flat terrain, ranging in depth. The deeper the water source, the safer it was. Mutts were frogs that could induce hallucinations with their tongue. Hallucinations typically lasted 7-8 hours. There were also mosquitoes that produced a honey-like scent, making you think they were safe. When they bit you though, theyâd make you have out-of body experiences, like you are watching yourself as a ghost.
Winning: Terra hunted down her opponent, throwing knives in belt and spear in hand. The District 6 tributes were wary, but fought. She first killed the male tribute by throwing one of her knives into his neck from afar. Once he died, she approached and fought the female tribute with her spear. She stabbed her abdomen and twisted until she passed out, removing the spear and stabbing her in the chest instead.
Aftermath: Snow captured the moment and sold her body as well, keeping her on a strict schedule. She was desirably to many Capitol people, and instead of money she asked for bits of philosophy. On her deathbed, she mentally pieced together the works and noticed the differences between District minds and Capitol minds.
She died of Cancer shortly after the 50th games. Her sister was distraught, since she was abandoned.
ZANDER LOCKHEART: THE LUCKY ONE
District: District 4
Relations: Atlanta Lockheart (Father), Sable Lockheart (Mother)
Age: 18
Post-Mockingjay Age: 38
Arena: The 55th arena was more so like an island. It was mainly sand with a few patches of grass and trees, with oceans skirting the edges of the arena. The ocean water caused sickness and vomiting when drank. Many of the patches of grass were poison ivy, making hiding in the grass nearly impossible. Mutts were snapping fish that ate flesh when you entered the ocean and crabs that were violent if threatened near the beach-y lands.
Winning: Zander mainly stayed near the cornucopia after the bloodbath rather than hunting down the tributes. Whenever a tribute snuck to steal a weapon, heâd perform a blitz attack and kill them with a mace. On the final day, he was being chased by a district one tribute. He used a net he had and threw it on them before stabbing them repeatedly with his spear. He was frantic and unorganized, and poked one of their eyeballs out.
Aftermath: District 4 welcomed their victor happily, even if he wasnât so happy. He drank himself to near death too many times, and mentored many other successful tributes. Except for one that heâll never forget. Cordelia Odair.
When he went to District 13 he joined the military group there and replaced alcohol with work. After the war he settled down and helped Annie raise her son. He even earned the affectionate title of âUncle Zander.â
