Why Blue?

All of our unbreakable, waterproof beds found on www.waterproofbeds.com are blue, as it a color favored by people with autism. The color blue has always been associated with calmness and serenity. Calmness may be needed at different points of the day & a serene state is often needed in order for one to fall asleep. Thus, the color blue is used to cover the waterproof beds. The color blue is proven to help people with autism feel calm and serene.

Interestingly, many people find the color blue reduces hunger. Very few foods in their natural state contain any blue. Evolution taught us that blue things are not appetizing. This knowledge comes in handy when trying to sleep. Hunger makes it hard to sleep. When we are hungry, our bodies stay awake; the body thinks that we are searching for food. Looking at something blue makes you less hungry, and therefore abler to sleep.

A Good Nights Sleep

We aim to aid a good nights sleep at waterproof beds and hope that our unbreakable waterproof bed base’s and mattresses’ make life easier for the carer and less disturbing & comfortable for the user. A strong dense foam block is the interior of the bed base, while the mattress is made from regular foam, which is softer. The bed base and mattress are covered separately in a heavy-duty PVC. We have a unique covering method that has minimal seams that prevents water from getting inside.

Standard bed frames consist of wood and hard metals; at waterproofbeds.com our beds consist of only foam, no hard substances will be found in our unbreakable waterproof bed bases or mattresses. There are no legs that could cause injury. None of the beds contain or have any sharp corners. As a result with the beds being unbreakable and waterproof they will last much longer than your average standard bed.

Custom Orders

We have made our unbreakable, waterproof mattress and bed bases to a variety of different custom-made sizes. Customers have asked us to build and fit matching blue head-boards to the wall too.

When the bed is right by the wall, bumping into the wall may become a concern. We can also fit wall padding too! Wall padding can be fitted all around the bed, just contact us and we will help you take some measurements and get a quotation to you.
