i'll be your character with flaws tonight.

“I was out here….looking for uh -” In the midst of the woods, Gigi tried to come up with a quick lie that would get her out of trouble, out of having someone so curious to know what she was really up to. “inspiration.” The woman chimed in, taking out her phone and snapping a quick photo. “I took an art class as an extra curricular, isn’t that somethin’?” Clearly, Gigi was up to no good, lurking around the woods in her curious, crime loving state of mind. 

Nick liked to believe he was intuitive, but he also had a general distrust for mortals, and it didn’t take a genius to assume that one lurking in the woods was probably up to no good. “The woods can be inspiring,” he conceded, “but I’m not sure inspiration is worth the risk. Especially for someone with a camera, with which they could document all kinds of nefarious activities.”

“oh come on, nicky.” she cooed, standing from her chair only to sit back down on the desk and cross one leg over the other. “do you really think that i would try to trick you?” dorcas asked, twisting a piece of her ginger hair around her finger. “it’s simply a herbal mix of nettle, lemon, ginger and thyme.” she replied, honestly but, it wasn’t the whole truth. “it’s delicious.”

he watched her carefully as she got up, not expecting her to do anything to him, necessarily, but more looking for any tells that might implicate her. any decent witch knew a spell when they saw one, he was more curious about the nature of this one. “i actually don’t doubt that. but that does beg the question of why you aren’t drinking it.”

        “  and  yet  you still follow me along  .  ”    it’s true  ;   sabrina tends to act on  IMPULSE  and  EMOTION  -  which doesn’t add to she giving herself a timeline in which to get things done  .   it often ends  …  chaotically  ,   but it can work out sometimes  .    “  you like it  ,   scratch  .   thanks  .   i’m glad you’ve managed to keep your manners in check all this time  ,   even in lil’ old riverdale  .  ”  

    “… what, this?” dorcas asked, looking down at the special tea that she had been brewing, before looking back up at them with a deceptive smile. “it’s just green tea, why would it be anything else?” she lied, hiding the lie well though. “…try it.” she added with a nonchalant shrug. 

“you must think so lowly of me.” as if he would ever fall for that. he took the cup from her hands, holding it up to his nose to gauge the scent. “satan almightly, dor, that’s strong. what are you trying to do?”

         “  haven’t you learned by now to just  go along  with me these days  ,   nick ?  ”    eyebrow will raise  ,   sabrina turns around to look at him and pointing her finger at him for a moment  .     “  you know i know  exactly  what happens in these woods  .  ”    after all  ,   the witches control it  .      “  now come on  ,   we have ingredients to find  .  ”  

           “  nah  .  i’d  probably  be  dead  within  the  twenty  minutes  it  takes  me  to  walk  home  ,  “  she  says  too  bluntly  ,  shrug  of  the  shoulders  to  follow  .  “  gotta  wait  for  one  of  my  brothers  to  pick  me  up  or   something  !  —-  oh  .  it’s  not  .  you’re  totally  not  my  type  .  “

he had a point, but there was still a sliver of hope that maybe–just MAYBE–tiny could find out the truth behind this game. curiosity killed the cat after all. she huffed, throwing her hands up in feigned defeat after thinking it over for a few moments. the lies that were about to come from her lips searing with a bitter tone.

          “ fine, you win. but to be fair, maybe that’s what it takes for riverdale police to actually find the son of a bitch behind all these murders. surely, the murderer or whatever can’t be an all-knowing genius. they’re bound to mess up, maybe leave a trace of dna behind. but whatever, fine, i won’t go into those woods. ”

"somehow i don’t think going into the woods would turn you into a martyr.” her logic was...interesting, but he didn’t need to tell her all the ways in which it was flawed. the point was, she chose to listen to him, and that meant he had met his good civilian quota for the day. or month, really. there was always the chance she’d risk it when he wasn’t around, but that wouldn’t be through any fault of his own. “doesn’t sound human, does it?” he said experimentally, barely concealing a smile. “and in that case, i wouldn’t hold your breath for much evidence to turn up.”

“ oh, my goodness. i’m so — SICK of people treating me like i’m a BABY.” she pouted, rising out of her chair, grabbing the crutches resting on the table she was at. “so what, i’ve never kissed anyone, that’s normal… and i haven’t passed my drivers test ‘cause my dads wont let me practice and – they think i’m too young to go to a ‘boy-girl party’..” her ‘outburst’ was to blame on a less than friendly text from some guy who she’d been messaging on instagram who came through on her direct messages. “lets do something, i dunno, something RECKLESS.” 

              ❝  …  stay  .  i’ll  pay  your  tab  and  everything  —  i  just  —  need  to  throw  off  those  guys  in  the  back  booth  .   call  me  baby  ,  whatever  you  want  ,  i  just  …  need  to  throw  them  off  my  TRAIL  .  ❞

            ❝    i’ll lose an arm  ?   ❞  gullible  she  is  ,  worry  taints  her  voice  as  she  looks  towards  the  other   ,  fidgeting  with  her  tin  of  brownies  in  her  hand  .  ❝   i  just  —  i  just  —  i  wanted  to  go  for  a  walk  ,  you  know  ,  and  i  thought  it’d  be  nice  for  a  change  of  pace  ,  but  —  but  i  don’t  want  to  lose  an  arm  !   ❞   gratefully  smiles  at  him  ,  ❝    thank  you  so  much  !   ❞

sketchy; that wasn’t quite the word tiny would use to describe the stranger standing across from her. she’d sooner truly call him psycho, though some may think both are equally bad. she rolled her eyes dramatically, shaking her head. how dangerous could this truly be? it was just a game, afterall.

          “ you’ve not been here long enough have you? every death in this town has a story behind it. it’s rare that we ever see someone’s death get confirmed as an accident. ”

a teenage girl rolling her eyes at him was a familiar feeling. sometimes there were curses attached, so this was an improvement. the more she refused to believe him, the less he felt like convincing her. but he liked how determined she was to become another riverdale statistic.

“no, it’s only been about a month. but i am from greendale, so i have some idea of what goes on around here. what would make you feel better, getting murdered in the woods by an actual psychopath or mauled by a bear? whether it’s an accident or not, the end result is the same.”

glancing over at the other, veronica gives the male a small smile, “what’s wrong? scared?” she questions and laughs softly, “please, i’ve been in the woods multiple times before. why would i be scared to go into places i’ve been before?” of course with veronica, she has been through the woods multiple times with her friends. going to sweet water hole, having her parents cabin secluded in the woods, nothing could ever stop veronica from going to some woodsy area. 

          she hadn’t noticed his presence  ,  no  .  not at first  .  still  —  it doesn’t startle her  .  only stunts her journey  ,  compelling her  ,  making her want to listen to whatever he’s on about  .  at his words  ,  she’ll back off her path  ,  moving toward the boy  ,  instead  .  a tilt of her head  ,  eyes narrowing  ,   “   well  …  if it’s meant to be that way  ,  i suppose there’s not much i can do about it  .  fate  wills it  ,  you know  ?  —  besides  .  they say a lot of things these days  ,  do they not  ?  ”

tiny hughes wasn’t afraid of anything- that was a lie. she was afraid of many things, but being dared to spend a night in a ‘haunted’ neck of the woods wasn’t one of them. what was the worst that could happen? a bear attack? tiny could run a seven minute mile, she could definitely outrun a grizzly bear.

          “ you sound like a psychopath, almost like you’re gonna be the one ripping my arm off if i go out there. i’m not afraid of you or these woods, and hell if i do get mauled by a bear or coyote it’ll just be another mystery for the students of riverdale high to solve. ”

“i might be. and yet, here you are, talking to a sketchy stranger.” nick laughed, amused by her fearless front. luckily for her, he had no interest in proving just how terrifying he could be. it would be a waste of his advanced teachings at the academy. “not much of a mystery, is it? foolish teenage girl goes into the woods, gets killed by a wild animal. that’s a pretty open and shut case. and a predictable one at that.”

kevin looked from his phone to the man in front of him. “something tells me you aren’t who I was supposed to meet here.” he shrugged, putting his phone back in the holder that was wrapped around his arm. the weather caused kevin to wear two layers of clothing along with a pair of jogging pants.”i’ve been going through these woods since the days of the black hood, at this point, i don’t know what could be worse.” the boy was cute but everything about him screamed the type that wouldn’t snapchat him back as quick as he wanted. “i’m kevin.” he extended his hand. “something tells me that you don’t tend to partake in the same activites i usually do in this place.”

“you realize that your scare tactics may work on mortals but not someone who literally caters to the will and teachings of the dark lord.” ambrose teased, giving the male a wink. “i also heard that there tend to be pretty hit men in these woods. lust is a side we are supposed to embrace. but hey, if you’re interested we could go to a place with better lighting.” ambrose leaned against the tree, rolling his eyes while looking at nick. “you havin’ fun scaring mortals, nick?”
