Enlightened ones

Ingredients

3 bay leaves

1 heath (erica spp.) branch or flower

2 tsp of coconut oil OR a small coconut shell

1/2 tsp of cocoa powder or nibs

1/2 tsp of sugar

1/2 an olive or 1/2 tsp of olive oil

1 or more rose petals

1 tbsp of yerba mate

Tools

Ink or a marker

Cauldron, tray or any fire safe container

A purple, black or white candle

Matches or a lighter

Metal tweezers

A silicone or freezer safe container

A tool to mix

Meanings

Bay leaves | For protection and manifestation of your intentions

Heath | Connection to mystery and otherworldly travel, symbolic of thresholds

Coconut | Establishing purity of your intentions and, in this context, asking for a relationship (from whatever nature desired) with a deity

Cocoa | Heart-opening, joy, spiritual nourishment and display of gratitude

Sugar | Attraction, binding and sweetness

Olive | Divine favour and endurance

Rose | Display of love and devotion

Yerba mate | Clarity and straightening of bonds

Purple or black candle | Intentions of connecting to the occult, prosperity, spirituality, seriousness, mistery. Representing of respect, devotion, power.

This ritual consists in an offering and a spell.

I prepared the offering ahead of making the spell. I chopped the olive into tiny pieces and dried them a little, then I put it in a container to mix with the sugar, cocoa nibs, and coconut oil. Then, I placed it in the freezer to harden as a little pellet. If you're using the coconut shell, you can put the ingredients I mentioned on it as a plate and skip the freezing.

For the spell, I started by drawing three sigils, each in a bay leaf.

(If you're doing this ritual to show appreciation for a deity you already follow, you can change the first sigil for something along the lines of "I embrace [deity name] into my life and practice", while the others can remain unchanged)

The candle should be placed in the middle of the cauldron/tray, surrounded it with the yerba mate, the rose petals (or pieces of it), and heath leaves/flowers.

Light your candle, allow yourself to feel the warmth of the fire for a while, concentrate on it, if you feel like it, whisper your desires to it. Now, hold the first bay leaf with tweezers (as to not burn yourself) and hold it onto the flame, let it burn with your intention set on it, let the ashes fall with the herbs circle around the candle. Repeat with the next two bay leaves.

Hold your offering and either say or think how you're offering it to the deity that would like to connect, then place it somewhere outside your window or garden.

Finally, grab your desired divination method and shuffle the cards, asking "what should I expect from this connection?". If a card flies out, or if it feels right to draw a card, pick it up. Feel it's energy for a while. Look back at the flame and thank your tool for helping, thank the opportunity to try and make contact. Let the candle burn all the way through and the wax engulf the herbs placed around it.
