          weston  has  always  been  his  most  genuine  self  around  moiraene,  for  no  one  has  ever  brought  out  a  sense  of  joy  in  him  quite  like  she  has.  her  own  smile  is  enough  to  nearly  make  his  heart  stop,  and  it’s  an  image  he’s  had  committed  to  memory  since  the  very  first  day  they’d  met.  and  it  wasn’t  one  he  planned  to  forget  any  time  soon,  no  matter  the  fact  that  it  seemed  things  would  never  be  as  they  once  were.     ❝  i  don’t  think  our  venture  would  be  complete  if  we  didn’t.  no  need  to  worry  about  that,  i’m  all  yours  for  the  afternoon.  ❞     though  truth  be  told,  wes  knew  he’d  cancel  any  plans  on  any  given  day  if  it  meant  spending  more  time  with  her.  his  smile  mimicked  her  own  as  it  widened,  nose  crinkling  playfully.     ❝  i  told  you  that  you  would.  you’re  doing  amazing  for  only  having  a  few  months  to  settle  in,  and  away  from  home  at  that.  ❞     instinctively,  hand  reaches  for  her  own,  giving  it  a  gentle  squeeze.     ❝  you  could,  but  you  don’t  have  to.  ever.  i  promise.  ❞

                  Rhaegar  does  not  question  nor  points  out  the  silence  of  which  he  is  welcomed  with  when  speaking  of  his  good  sister.  as  a  prince  and  her  hand  he  understands,  not  everyone  held  love  for  the  crown  or  who  held  it,  specially  during  the  current  times  where  tensions  ran  high  and  people  simply  wished  to  go  home.  he  too  wished  he  could  depart  for  dragon  stone  for  a  much  needed  time  alone.  but  alas  he  chose  to  put  all  his  trust  on  selina,  something  not  everyone  did.  “you  speak  very  wisely,  as  you  always  have.  it  feels  like  a  parallel,  the  way  you  speak  of  yourself  and  your  wife  alyse  and  what  i  have  lived  with  reila.  i  hope  we  can  be  as  happy  as  you  are  now  in  our  future  together.”

it’s a funny thing, the way he hardly cares for the royal family of the south, though he’ll always hold a softer place for rhaegar. it brings him his own sense of happiness to see the prince so happy, speaking as fondly about his future bride as he does for his own wife. it’s through that alone that he;s sure that their marriage will prevail. “i very much suspect that you will be if she thinks of you a kindly as you do her. i don’t know how you managed to trick her into that.” he teases, a smirk tugging at his mouth. “perhaps you’ve been showing her all that i taught you. couldn’t blame her for wanting to marry you if that’s the case.”

the  vendors  did  a  good  job  of  keeping  things  refreshing,  bringing  the  greyjoy  prince  back  again,  looking  for  something  special.    it  wasn’t  really  the  greyjoy  way  to  go  for  the  fancier  things;  perhaps  spending  so  much  time  with  his  targaryen  side  rubbed  off  on  him.    his  eyes  lingered  on  one  particular  necklace  as  they  walked  passed  the  gold  and  jewelry  but  kept  walking,  once  again  deciding  against  it  and  keeping  in  pace  withe  the  other.    ❝  are  you  looking  forward  to  the  tourney?  ❞

he rolls his eyes at his cousins statement, turning slightly to stare at him before shaking his head. “are you kidding, cousin? i care no more about tourneys now than i did before we arrived in this flowery hell.” it was a pleasant place he supposed, gorgeous in comparison to pyke, but it was not the same as home.

 oberyn  hadn’t  intentionally  started  to  leave  the  queen  be  ,  but  after  the  death  of  sita  he  all  but  avoided  her.  he  was  angry  ,  wishing  to  take  his  people  home  but  knowing  he  couldn’t  just  walk  away  with  no  consequence.  a  ruling  prince  ,  forced  to  be  subservient  to  the  southern  queen.  initially  he’d  wanted  to  meet  to  demand  justice  for  his  late  wife  ,  but  he  realized  more  and  more  that  he  may  never  get  it.  when  she  is  the  one  who  finds  him  his  eyebrow  cocks  ,  surprise  clear  on  his  face.  he’d  never  expected  she  to  be  the  one  to  approach  him.  “  the  festival  is  lovely  ,  though  i’m  afraid  you’ll  know  as  i  do  now  that  some  wounds  aren’t  easily  soothed  by  beauty  and  fun.  ”

                    Nyx  nods  in  agreement.  she  had  always  looked  up  to  her  sister  ambrosia,  the  beauty,  the  grace,  the  brains.  it  was  why  she  had  always  listened  to  her  orders  even  if  she  did  not  agree  with  them,  it  was  why  she  followed  her  so  blindly.  even  now  as  she  praised  her  for  her  achievement  it  meant  more  than  anyone  else.  their  brother  might  be  the  head  of  the  family  but  they  all  knew  the  brains  were  ambrosia  and  ambrosia  alone.  “and  if  not  they  will  be  gone  soon  and  i  will  be  able  to  have  a  better  hold  of  this  place,  and  my  lord  husband.  i  just  need  to  lay  low  and  play  the  submissive  lady  for  a  bit  longer.”  she  knew  her  role  all  to  well,  and  she  did  even  better  at  playing  it.  “and  bare  a  son  soon  after,”  which  had  turned  out  to  be  quite  complicated  for  her  to  do  so.

“you will do wonderfully here. far nicer than the north as well, at least you won’t be fearing frostbite just because of where you live.” the eyrie had been cold enough, making her far more accustomed to the cold than she once had been, but she still would always choose somewhere warm, pleasant in temperament. she was glad for the fact that she would get to be so close to nyx soon, able to come up and visit her with reasonable ease. “a son will come, do not worry.  even if one doesn’t and you bare another daughter, it’s not terribly unheard of in this day and age for a woman to rule. it is not as though your husband has brothers to argue with you”

                    There’s  a  moment  when  she  turns  to  face  him  in  which  he  just  watches  her,  the  line  of  her  jaw,  the  deepness  of  her  eyes,  the  curve  of  her  lips.  she  always  seemed  of  angelic  features  to  him,  a  beauty  that  could  not  compare  to  any  other,  and  god  had  he  tried  to  find  her  in  others  to  keep  away,  always  returning  to  her  until  he  had  accepted  his  fate  to  always  trail  behind  her.  “I  would  sport  my  battle  wounds  with  pride,”  he  says  with  a  smirk,  the  air  seemed  to  lift  around  them.  “it  was  well  deserved,  i  think  we  both  did  things  we  shouldn’t  have,”  mazhar  shakes  his  head  as  he  crosses  his  arms  over  his  chest.  “no  need  to  dwell  on  it,  however.”

she hated the fact that he was the only man she’d never been able to shake. so many charmed by her, so many people she’d used and discarded for her gain, and yet she’d never been able to do it to him. he had always been handsome in her eyes, but it was who he was deep down that had kept her unable to stay away. he understood her, shared her ideals. if she belived in such things as soulmates, she’d believe that he was hers. “and if someone asked what had happened?” she teased in return, her grip on her anger loosening. “indeed. are you saying you’re having some regrets, then?” her head tilts slightly, eyes imploring his own. “storm’s end and sunspear aren’t all that far, you realize. everything could simply go back to how it was.”

          the  fond  compliment  is  taken  to  heart  ,  always  proud  to  be  associated  with  house  westerling  .  she  couldn’t  have  dreamed  of  a  better  family  to  have  been  raised  with  ,  always  treated  as  blood  and  growing  in  their  admiration  of  the  westerling  siblings  .  it  was  no  secret  that  as  a  result  ,  leyla  picked  up  similar  mannerisms  ,  habits  ,  and  goals  .    ❝    like  here  but  more  mountains  …  but  not  as  many  as  the  vale  ?    ❞    they  question  ,  thinking  about  their  time  spent  in  the  eyrie  and  how  on  some  days  ,  there  were  more  details  they  could  remember  about  the  eyrie  than  about  the  crag  .    ❝    all  about  connections  ,  right  ?  now  we  have  networks  in  the  crag  ,  the  eyrie  ,  and  soon  sunspear  .    ❞    they  had  always  been  quite  curious  about  rose’s  darker  plans  and  what  went  on  behind  closed  doors  that  they  were  clueless  to  -  some  maybe  not  fit  for  a  daughter’s  ears  ,  but  gods  did  she  wish  to  know  .    ❝    what  are  your  thoughts  about  house  martell  ?    ❞    leyla  questions  in  a  quiet  voice  .

the sound of a familiar voice, one that brings with it such silent understanding, is enough to bring a smile to quentyn’s face. “rae! i see you have been busy,” he comments lightheartedly, looking at the flowers in her hand. his eyes look at the bundle, silently inspecting them. “you have flowers in there that i do not think i have seen before in my life.” there’s a small chuckle. “if you do manage to do it and i do not get a written invitation to see it first,” quentyn starts with a playful tone, “i don’t think i’ll have it in me to ever forgive you.” maybe it’s a terrible thing, to be so aware that he would drop every responsibility for some sort of relief away from everything.

there’s a bright smile on her face as she glances down at the bundle of flowers and then back up to him. “they’re all so beautiful, i couldn’t quite help myself in picking several once they gave us permission.” she thinks she will likely press one of each between the pages of her journal before they leave this place, unwilling to leave the memory of the reach behind. “i’ve discovered so many new kinds. i’ve been talking to several of the reach people about how to plant them, but none of them seem to think they will grow in the north.” unsurprising really, but she’d had some hope. “you should come visit white harbour regardless, though.”

myranda doesn’t mind the commotion, the way everyone seems to be restlessly enjoying the festival, the wrestling smells of pastries and an overwhelming amount of flower crowns. still, in spite of her relaxed stance towards the spring bloom, myranda never says no to an opportunity to bond with her aunt, which is exactly her plan when she approaches the queen. “you look like you have been fending off unwanted flirting,” myranda starts after greeting her aunt, wasting no time mentioning the courting that no doubt has led many to believe the queen is available, “ever since this flowery explosion of an event started.”

she was fond of the festival, even now as the smells and the festivities lingered in the air. everyone seems to be in higher spirits, especially after she’d made the announcement that everyone could begin making their way home soon. she greets her niece with a slight huff, head shaking in disapproval despite her speaking truly. “i had underestimated how people would take daven and i courting. i thought i would be met with disapproval rather than people thinking i was seeking suitors.” she’d never taken all that well to flirting unless she was interested, even when she was young and a lady rather than a princess and then queen. “i’m certain you must be having the same problem.”

            jaq  hadn’t  actually  given  much  thought  to  who  he  would  crown,  perhaps  one  of  his  daughters.  “  myself.  i  am  love  and  beauty.  ”  he  would  have  no  use  for  it  and  would  likely  throw  it  away.  “  now  that  you  are  public  with  your  courtship,  i  am  not  allowed  to  court  who  i  desire  ?  they  could  be  my  true  love.  ”  it  was  an  amusing  thought.  “  no.  it  is  a  faux  pass  to  make  a  public  announcement  to  court  a  betrothed  man,  is  it  not  ?  ”  his  agitation  was  not  with  the  betrothal  itself,  but  rather  lysander’s  reaction  to  it.  

                 He  is  not  surprised  at  the  way  she  reacts  to  his  confessions,  if  anything  he  is  grateful  she  isn’t  screaming  at  him.  then  again  out  of  all  the  baratheon’s  selina  had  always  been  the  one  to  control  and  carry  herself  with  the  most  grace.  they  were  all  ought  to  learn  a  thing  or  two  from  her.  “she  is,”  it  is  the  first  time  he  has  admitted  it  with  such  pride,  no  hesitation.  “vareena  wishes  to  take  her  north  and  keep  her  away  from  e.  i  cannot  allow  that  to  happen,  they  will  turn  her  into  a  wildly  norther  when  she  is  every  bith  south  and  my  daughter.”  but  was  that  the  real  issue?  or  was  he  just  trying  to  make  her  life  harder  than  needed  to  be.

she nods in realization as she mulls over the perspective of both parties involved. she hardly would of taken it well had she and lucaerys divorced and he’d wished to live several months ride from her. then again, she had been heavily involved in her children’s lives, carried them into this world and taught them much. she knew that vareena tyrell had never disclosed her daughter’s father, and to her knowledge he had never been involved in her life. “but you haven’t been in her life as her father, have you?” she frowns softly.. “i suggest that you and lady vareena try to reach an amicable agreement before you seek my involvement. without you having been in the girl’s life before now, i will not be able to side with you.”

her  eye  roll  was  teasing,  never  would  she  actually  disrespect  the  man  who  offered  asylum  when  she  needed  it  most.  though,  she  would  never  stop  poking  at  him  in  such  ways.  she  mimicked  his  stance,  hands  on  hips,  her  eyebrow  cocked  in  return  to  his  own.  ❝  you  say  that  as  if  you  are  much  older  than  me.  here  you  are  aging  yourself  without  my  assistance.  ❞  there  was  a  laugh  she  felt  coming  through,  but  she  quickly  swallowed  it  down,  rather  replaced  with  a  face  of  seriousness.  ❝   there  are  some  elders  who  don’t  deserve  respect,  i  can  only  hope  that  i’ve   taught  her  that  much.  ❞

he appreciated amyra, always would for the fact that she had given him a daughter and all the joys and scares that had come from what he’d believed at the time to be his first born. he even appreciated her taunts to a certain extent if only because it kept things from being truly dull.  “you are ageing yourself as well by stating that we aren’t all that far apart.” he grins then before snorting in amusement. “i think she knows full well who deserves respect and who doesn’t at this point. she takes after both of us a little too well.”

          what’s  past  is  past  and  she  puts  whatever  they  had  behind  her  .  gwyn  had  done  that  years  ago  but  it  feels  necessary  to  repeat  .  she  smiles  at  the  exhausted  child  ,  giving  a  wave  when  they  stir  awake  .    ❝    i  remember  the  feeling  of  an  energetic  toddler  .    ❞    gyl  had  been  more  stubborn  than  wylla  ,  thinking  it  a  game  when  the  scolding  happened  .  she  waits  until  the  little  one  is  carried  away  and  though  it  changes  nothing  on  what  gwyn  plans  to  say  ,  she’s  thankful  for  the  privacy  .    ❝    it’s  good  to  see  you  too  ,  ryon  .  how  have  you  been  ?    ❞    they  hadn’t  seen  each  other  in  quite  some  time  and  though  it  was  good  to  see  him  ,  the  normalcy  was  strange  .  she  chuckles  at  the  mention  of  her  wounds  ,  all  healed  and  only  scars  .    ❝    superficial  wounds  ,  all  since  healed  .    ❞

          ❝  our  marriage  is  a  testament  to  many  things,  ❞     she  hummed,  small  and  amused  smile  settling  on  her  lips,     ❝  and  i  should  hope  anyone  else  will  have  as  blessed  of  a  courtship.  ❞     having  him  in  her  life  is  a  joy  unlike  any  other,  but  knowing  that  she  could  wake  up  beside  him  and  spend  each  day  in  blissful  happiness  was  unlike  anything  else  she  could  imagine.  they’d  withstood  the  very  tests  of  time,  even  without  a  festival  to  spur  them  along.  her  fingers  brushed  absently  along  the  petals,  expression  fond  as  she  lifts  her  gaze  to  meet  his  own.     ❝  i  quite  enjoyed  it  myself,  though  i  think  you  like  any  opportunity  to  partake  in  a  joust,  ❞     and  words  are  teasing,  nose  crinkling  slightly.     ❝  being  pregnant  and  having  the  last  name  allyrion  are  really  the  only  differences,  aren’t  they  ?  though  i  suppose  you  can  pencil  in  the  casual  sharing  of  my  husband  with  the  ruling  prince,  too.  ❞
