PEACE WAS NEVER AN OPTION.

               ❛  sprouting as well coming back from the dead. i thought i lost my family time and time again. ------ i can’t say how grateful i am to have, at least, a few of them back.  ❜

            ❛  i’ve never had much of a reason to celebrate this holiday . . . or at least i haven’t in a long time.  ❜        he’s musing over the thought of this & after a moment he smiles about the thought.         ❛  now i suppose i have six reasons.  ❜

                 there’s a long pause & erik feels the cold strike of shame in his gut. he had betrayed charles. he had betrayed raven. he had betrayed the one family he always constantly had ------ & he had even betrayed his own son. how selfish must peter see him as . . .       ❛  i was destroying the world because i thought they had taken everything from me. i thought i was alone. my rage ------ blinded me to the fact i was not. raven was right. i have more family than i know . . . and you are included in that, peter. you matter because you show me that i am not alone.  ❜       long strides forward until he’s in front of him & one of his hands draws out from it’s pocket to set, heavy, on peter’s shoulder.       ❛  those i have lost and those i have now are all my family all the same. simply because i saw nina grow but did not have the same experience with you does not mean i care for my son any less than i do my daughter. ------ i can say that i’m sorry, though. i was gone . . . your mother i --- i met her when i was younger & when i was more confident in the battle i waged. i left her because i knew was prepared for a war against the world . . . and she was not. i had no idea that ------ if i knew . . . i may have acted differently. i’m not sure . . . i was hardly ready to be a father then. but you didn’t deserve that from me.  ❜

GET WOKE PEOPLE

y’all im so sorry for me lately. i really haven’t been around the past few days. this weekend i could blame it on the wedding i went out of town for but now . . . i wanted to get on today after work but i’ve hit a big mood drop & i cannot gather the energy. i will try to be on tomorrow . . . it’s my day off after all. but right now i’m honestly just feeling like i want to curl up & sleep forever. i don’t know what’s gotten into me lately . . . i’ve just been. moody. i’m so sorry i’ve been so bad !!!

             he gives to the shove & is pinned to the wall --- but it’s almost laughable that she thinks she can keep him there. her entire skeleton is mapped out for him in metal & he could recognize adamantium in his presence. he eyes the claws curiously . . . if he so wanted, he could throw her off without even batting an eyelash ------ but he doesn’t. keep the violence at bay, for now, & see if she can hone in her vicious nature by herself. his eyes flick up to her’s.    ❛  is this how you greet everyone? i’m sure you’re terrific at making friends. now --- you’re in new york city and i suggest . . . you put these away. wouldn’t want things to get messy.  ❜

                the children were now showing up. he had seen peter already & he had mentioned jean to erik, leaving the man to be aware that the girl was here somewhere. although, he had assumed she would be located by charles first before he found her.     ❛  i wish i could tell you more, jean, but i believe you know just as much i do on how we got here. as far as i can tell, this is another universe. one where --- we’re fictional, more or less. i’ve been here for roughly a month, and the professor has been here longer.  ❜     he uses charles’ title for her, knowing it would be a more common alias for her to know him by.

               ❛  charles and i were lucky enough to get paired together in the rooming system they seem to have here. we share an apartment together so --- yes. i’m well aware where he is.  ❜     not to mention the sliver of cobalt that he knew charles had on his person. even if charles wasn’t at the apartment, all it would take would be reaching out to that metal & he could find him.    ❛  he could also find jean far sooner than i could on my own as well.  ❜    erik inhaled deeply then sighed as he looked at peter. his son . . . grown, too. just as many of the others were, it seemed. there was guilt that he had to bite down at the fact nearly all his children grew with him absent in their lives. there would years that he could spend every second trying to make up for but never succeed. it was cruel that the world only allowed him to hold two of his offsprings as children.     ❛  you could have said something. that day, during apocalypse. --- why didn’t you?  ❜

                the comment is a pleasant surprise to erik, earning a curious tilt of the head & a brow raise at the man. the ring that was encircling his hand makes it’s path around the back of his hand then above his palm where fingers curl around it.     ❛  they see it as difference, so they fear it. mankind will always fear what is different, it is in their nature.  ❜     the force. at first it seems an unusual term but then he recalls discussions with charles over one of the telepath’s close friends: obi-wan kenobi. a mutant, as charles called him, from a different universe who drew power from something with the same name, as others in his universe did.     ❛  electromagnetism. my mutation gives me control over it.  ❜

             erik finds amusement in how casual peter seems to be of everything. it’s comforting how seemingly cocky but inwardly humble the boy was. although, such power --- he could be doing better things than simply fooling people with thievery for money or his own amusement. perhaps erik could show him that --- but perhaps later. for now erik laughs & shakes his head before sighing, eyes cast down at the floor as peter spoke of nina. anxiety was something he could pick out from the other from the way the pace of his speech picked up. something peter seemed to catch, as he slows himself at the end.   ❛  i did lose her --- she was killed. her and her mother . . . i --- i will find her. soon. charles is here as well, he or jean could be helpful. i’m sure she’s extremely frightened. she was only a young girl last i saw her . . . but she will be alright, for now. you said yourself she was fine when you saw her.  ❜     erik’s eyes rose to peter’s again.    ❛  before finding my daughter --- i should speak with my son.  ❜
