While sources for what energy work is and how to start it don’t seem especially hard to find, work to advance your energy work seems to be a much more difficult topic to come across. As such, I’m sharing some exercises a couple of my spirit friends are helping me with. These are on the beginner side of beginner-to-intermediate exercises. You need to know how to make an energy ball. Grounding, centering and shielding beforehand is highly recommended!

Notes on the Energy Work Exercises posts: I’d like to note that for most of these, two of my spirit friends are the ones directing me in the exercises. They tell me what to do in the exercise but not how to do it: that part is up to me. Everyone is a little different, and it’s something one has to figure out on their own. My spirits are also the ones telling me what to categorize as beginner vs. intermediate vs. advanced, etc.  If you haven’t seen it yet, please check out the Energy Work PSAs post and if you are just starting out, the Energy Work Starter Resources page!

Energy Ball Halving Once your energy ball is formed, split it in two, so you have two half-spheres of energy. Try to hold them apart for at least ten seconds (longer is great too!!). Then rejoin them into a single sphere. Try this two or three times.  Shapes Try turning your ball into shapes. A pyramid, then move into a hexagon. Any shape will do. Three-dimensional ones are harder for most people, but definitely try some! Colored Shapes Try coloring your shapes. A blue sphere, a red triangle, a green square, a black pyramid. The colors and shapes aren’t of great importance; more the ability to transition from one to another and to create them in the first place. 

Braiding Split your energy ball into three strands. Braid the strands. Then morph the braid back into a ball. Repeat two or three times.  I know I have not given you instructions on how to do this, only what to do. My spirits did the same thing to me. For me, energy work is mostly visualization and intent, and it’s not something I can really put into words. Find what works for you and keep at it!

Cleansing an Inanimate Object (with Touching) For this, you are going to put your hand on the object you intend to cleanse. Most will find it more natural to use a hand but you could also put it on your lap or something. From there you have two options: let the energies you would like to cleanse  flow through you and down into the ground (or otherwise ground and cleanse them away; your method and visualization is up to you). The other option is to imagine a white light coming from your hands or fingertips to cleanse the object. It doesn’t have to be a white light, either; whatever you find cleanses can work. 

Energy Reading of Inanimate Objects Take an inanimate object (a book, a crystal, anything), and try to notice the non-physical traits of it. Hover your palm over it, or hold it/touch it (it will be easier when you are touching it; doing this without touching an object is a slightly more advanced version to try when you feel ready!). Does your hand tingle? Feel warm? Cold? Take note of anything you can sense from it from any of yours senses. Don’t worry about interpreting just yet; for now just observe.

“People Don’t Stare At Me”

The Law of Attraction is not about manifesting all the time and doing a bunch of techniques.

It’s about being aware of how your beliefs, thoughts, and feelings manifest in your reality. What you believe to be true, The Universe will provide you proof of. This goes both ways - positive and negative.

Aries in the second house: This person is impulsive and to the point with values and views, which may mean they are hard to convince of another view or value once they find their own. It also means this house is important to them, and that they may resort to it in times of need, as Aries is the first born of the signs, and first instinct and initiative is found where Aries is in the chart.

Taurus in the second house: The natural ruler of the house, having Taurus in the second house can make it more accessible for the individuals than for other people. There is a natural instinct to recognise the beauty in things, and also the key values of them. They can be very thoughtful for these reasons, as there is an artistic sense to what they see in the value the world around them.

Gemini in the second house: Quick and modern appreciations are seen with Gemini in the second house. They value information and harnessing new knowledge! They then use this to inform their values. For this reason, they are seen to have constantly changing ideals and values, but this is often because they are always updating them to be the most effective.

Cancer in the second house: Having this sign in the second house will bring a lot of sentimentality to the value of it. They may hold ideals based on their personal emotional feelings, and their values may be more personally invested and subjective than another person. This can make their values a lot more personal and close to them, meaning they may be more likely to uphold them.

Leo in the second house: Often finding art and expression one of the highest values in life, these people are very fixed and stubborn with their values due to the Leo modality. Their values and self shines through. Self expression is part of their personal possession, and hell, do they own it! You will find that once they are firm with their values, they brighten and flourish.

Virgo in the second house: They are critical when assessing their own values, as well as other peoples. However, this allows them to filter and analyse different views and wants so they can find the one that fits them best. They may, however, experience problems with feeling nothing is ever particularly good enough.

Libra in the second house: A Venusian sign in a Venusian house, this amplifies the romantic tendencies of the second house. They really wish to see the beauty in almost everything, even if the glimpses are small. Values will often be utilitarian, as Libra wishes to find balance wherever they can in their lives. They wish to be happy and make happiness for others too.

Scorpio in the second house: Being in the opposite house, Scorpio can feel uncomfortable and shaken in the second house. For this reason, they can feel awkward navigating the realms of their own values. They don’t always know whether to apply emotion or logic, which can cause frustration for them. They may even feel they don’t follow understand their wants and needs.

Sagittarius in the second house: Values and wants for them revolve a lot around the experience of them. If it can form a memory or teach them a lesson, then they will take it by the horns and value it or strive for it. In this fashion, Sagittarius can sometimes toe the line of what is right and what just feels right. They are often collectors of wonderful trinkets from their journeys.

Capricorn in the second house: These people apply a logical element to the wants they have in life. What they want has to be realistic and successful. Values will often be based on what can push them, or the ones involved, forward in life. This can sometimes mean they lose sight of what would truly make them happy in the long run.

Aquarius in the second house: Aquarius here is often quirky and out of the ordinary in their wants and values. This is because they can often be a little ahead of their times. Aquarius in the second house adds a fresh breeze to traditional thoughts and wants, often choosing a path that avoids the norms of wants and needs.

A sweet tea to bring about self-care and love in a time you need it most.

Ingredients:

Green tea

Dried rosebuds

Dried jasmine flowers

Blackberries

Maple syrup

To Begin:

Bring a pot of water to a boil, then turn off the heat and add the green tea leaves, rosebuds and jasmine. Let the herbs infuse for 5 minutes.

Filter the herbs and add the berries while the tea is still hot; mash them with a fork and let them sit in the tea for 10+ minutes

Filter the mixture, then add sweetener to taste and pour into a bottle of your choice

1. Water- Your emotions, how are you feeling at the moment?

2. Air- Your mind, how are your thoughts influencing the situation?

3. Fire- What needs to change?

4. Earth- Where can you draw strength?
