Up for grabs are THREE vinyl picture disc records featuring Howard Ashman’s soundtracks to The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.

“Maelstrom” Sam McKim, 1986

Opening in 1988, Maelstrom at the Norway Pavilion in EPCOT Center’s World Showcase brought guests on a log flume journey past fjords, Nordic gods, polar bears, trolls…and oil rigs. This attraction, also peppered with Audio-Animatronics, a backwards drop, and an exit film, celebrated everything 1980s Norway. It quickly became a guest favorite, especially thanks to the flume drop, which allowed views of World Showcase Lagoon before dropping down. Why, in this art by Sam McKim, some guests, namely the boy in the second row on the left, loved it so much they rode it in the proper direction. Unfortunately, the 80s ended, and the attraction closed in 2014 to be repurposed for a Frozen attraction.
