The Tex-ass cattle industry is going to be devastated and bankrupted. The price of beef will skyrocket so high that only millionaires will be able to afford it. The price of all other red blooded proteins will jump as they try to replace beef in the supermarkets. Restaurants, especially fast food chains and local moms and pops will go out of business.
Another great big step on the road to a second worldwide great depression.
No only US depression.
Democracy dies in billionaire hands.
Those men woukd not be billionaires (much less one trillionaie) if we'd simply continued taxing the uber rich how we USED TO. 90% over 2 million a year. (Up that to 5 million now)
Wealth just snowballs without high taxes. Wealth = political power especially in the USA.
Don’t like people getting rich???
Stop consuming the products they push. Turn your screen off. Read a book. Go outside. Go for a long walk.
There are sooooo many alternatives. Don’t have to use google or x. Don’t purchase Washington Post. All these listed have more unbiased alternatives.
If you think you have to use the products listed above your part of the problem. You’re also an idiot.
As this week is marked by the 4th of July and the 250th anniversary of this country, it's worth remembering what real freedom looks like in 2026. Keep up the fight.
US citizens are not free.

Nothing but facts

This is the CHOICE you have.
News can be obtained from every corner of the globe. Use your choice.
It’s not who owns stuff it’s who consumes it.
US citizens consume like no other society on earth. Slow down your massive consumption and these things you don’t like will eventually fail.
US citizens have had 80 years of super consumerism with no checks. Now it’s coming home to roost.
You have got to be fucking joking me.
OP: maybe billionaires with an agenda shouldn't own every single media outlet imaginable.
You: no it's just because you consume too much. Consume less propaganda and the propaganda will propaganda less.
Like you understand why this is stupid, right? It's important to me you understand why this is stupid.
US has been at the forefront of this modern age of consumerism. You cannot deny it.
People don’t fix things anymore. They throw it away and buy a new one.
Fashion is worn once and then thrown away.
Cars don’t last very long. Devices (phones tablets etc). 2 years max.
This is consumerism. This is your weakness. Own something for 10 years. Get you moneys worth. The instant gratification is your disease.
You're so unbelievably off base and wrong with all of this I don't even know where to begin. Like honestly, I legitimately do not know how to talk to you about this in a way that isn't incredibly patronizing. Either you're really this ignorant or you're intentionally being dense enough to bend light.
The purpose of the original post was to point out that, at the moment, the richest among us own the news outlets and, therefore, for the majority of people they set the narrative. This is objectively a bad thing.
You responded how it's the consumers who are at fault. This is both laughably wrong and has absolutely nothing to do with the topic. Regardless of how much or little we are consuming something doesn't alter the ethical reality of what that thing is.
Let's do a hypothetical to illustrate how fucking brain-dead of a take this is.
Imagine I want to bake snickerdoodles, but I need cinnamon for that. So I want to buy some cinnamon to make them. But it turns out that every food store is own by like 7 dudes and they all fucking hate cinnamon with a passion and have decided that no one should ever buy it so they never have it in their stores, they lobby against cinnamon being sold at all, and they buy up all the cinnamon everywhere just to not sell it. Naturally, I'm not for this so I go online and point out that it is not ok that only 7 people get to dictate whether or not everyone can easily access cinnamon.
Your comment is the equivalent of someone coming in and saying, "well you shouldn't be eating so many cookies anyway. Your culture eats too many cookies. Stop eating cookies and your problem will go away."
Like no the fuck it won't. The 7 fuckwads still are preventing us from doing something we ought to be able to do.
Now replace, "cinnamon," with, "access to unbiased news," and replace, "baking snickerdoodles," with, "being informed."
I want to access unbiased news so that I can be informed about the goings on in the world. I want to make informed decisions, hold informed opinions, and make smart political decisions at the voting booth. All that requires unbiased, accurate, free press. How much of this I consume is irrelevant - completely on every level irrelevant. Right now, those six guys listed at the top get to prevent me from accessing unbiased news.
This is a bad thing. They should not have the power to tell me, or anyone, what is or is not true based on their personal feelings.
Jfc man.
Stop consuming it. Turn it off. Don’t buy it. They are not telling you to do anything unless you read or listen to it.
Get out of the loop. You’re in the loop.
The US society has evolved to this. If enough of you take action it will change.
Take to the streets for your cinnamon.
If you don’t like it. Ignore it. If enough people do this it will solve it. Don’t rely on government or someone else. You cannot deny it fix it by not consuming it!!!!!
You are a complete moron. Your solution to not being informed by propaganda is to not be informed at all by choice. That is just fucking ridiculous. You're exchanging propaganda for ignorance. That's a great way to have a very dumb uninformed, dangerous populace.
Great example: in 2023, the information pipeline of TikTok was not controlled by the major interested powers. Setting aside the problems with using TT as a news source, when the Gaza genocide ramped back up that year people saw it without the propaganda and spin in masse for the first time. This broke the propaganda and people began to see the truth. Then, as expected, the interested powers worked to destroy that pipeline. Nad your solution would have been to what? Go to Gaza in 2023 directly. Get my own boots on the ground? In Gaza? Like that's patently absurd. You can't ask some major fraction of 300 million people to do that. Come on dude.
They don't want us to consume it. Or at least they don't care if we do. They want us uninformed. You're asking us to play right into their hands and just become dumb for the sake of it. Not consuming it won't fix the problem, it'll just make us that easier to control.
And don't rely on government? My brother in genus, what do you think government is for? It's for exactly this my guy - the protection of rights and welfare. Yeah the US isn't functioning properly right now (really never has) but we're not going to fix it by ignoring the problem (what you're asking us to do) to proverbially starve them out. These are billionaires. Billion. With a B. They won't get starved out this way. And ignoring the problem actually gives them more power this way.
The correct answer is to organize and create competing pipelines of unbiased information. Any other suggestion like yours is, at best, woefully ignorant and naïve about how the world actually works.
Sigh.
Very narrow minded. There are literally thousands of news outlets all over the world. Why cant US citizens look outside their own tiny retarded country.
Try traveling outside your borders.
I’ve been around the world twice. Been to over 25 countries. Try it. It’s illuminating.
Oh a slur. How fun. That explains some things.
Your paltry attempt to pivot the conversation doesn't obfuscate the fact that you're not actually addressing my points.
Cope harder.
Ha ha ha ha.
Get the Thesaurus out much. 😝😝
Ok.
1. When I say you are a consumer I mean all of your society. How would I know if you personally consume a lot.
2. All those companies you listed in your first post can be avoided if you choose to.
3. If you were born say before 1970 you would remember how to write a letter. Make a trunk call. Wait for responses.
This is what I’m talking about.
You have literally thousands of choices these days.
It’s not who owns stuff it’s who consumes it.
US citizens consume like no other society on earth. Slow down your massive consumption and these things you don’t like will eventually fail.

If you CHOOSE to just go to those you deserve everything you get.
That’s why the US has a maniac as a President.

Your appetite for instant gratification has eroded you ability to be objective.
The society you live in bombards you with information. Most untrue or slanted to a certain point of view. The lobbies that control the idiots in Government won’t change anything. The people must change it. The people have control. Boycott things you don’t like.
The people that own that stuff earn money from you. CONSUMING.

Language matters.
Not that I condone any of these.
But what did You call the taking and murder of the hostages by terrorists.
A walk in the park????
Language matters but the FULL picture matters most.
