Black Friday Post op day 9: Yesterday mom was home from the hospital for 6 hours when she had some severe pain and was having a difficult time breathing. She has developed some pleuritis or inflammation around the lung secondary to the blood clot in her lung. She ended up back in the ER where pain medications and anti-inflammatories were used to bring her pain level down quickly. Post op day 4(November 18th): Mom is improving every day and getting stronger and stronger. We are grateful for the miracles, prayers and love over the last several days. November 15th update: Post op day one was rough. Mom started out in a lot of pain today and was closely monitored by the ICU nurse and staff. She had a few visitors including her Mom & Dad, and most of us kids. I thought that she would be transferred to Med Surg but mom had some post op complications which brought in several specialists and more blood draws. She is stable and doing well right now and resting comfortably. She will continue with pain control and tomorrow will be forced to do a little more sitting up which I’m sure she will hate. Mom is out of surgery and doing well but in a lot of pain. The surgery was a HUGE SUCESS!! The Dr. Hyashi brothers were able to remove a large cancerous mass (tumor) from the ovary area that had burst; which was causing the internal bleeding and abdominal pain. Another mass was taken out of the small bowel which was also the cause of her pain. She is being admitted to ICU for one night for observation and then back to her room at Med Surg at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital tomorrow. Then she will start her recovery from surgery. Thank you to everyone for your love ❤️ and prayers which made a huge difference. Once she has recovered from her surgery she will continue the fight against her melanoma cancer with immunotherapy. We have a ways to go but this was a huge hurdle that we have overcome.
