"Ah man, the healing gimmick with Ulplan is pretty funny, it'd be pretty cool if you could do something similar with reflect damage, but Hoshi just doesn't have the Res to stand up to the boss' beam attack" Nah:
Hoshi is still doing some Tekken bullshit to that old woman

Ashamed to say i spent all day on this
I'm thinking about Emiko Iwasaki's work on Guilty Gear Isuka because while I do love Daisuke's art don't get me wrong, there's just something about that rough, kind-of unpolished digital painterly-ness that I can't help but love.
like LOOK at this stuff!
Christ theresa it’s my birthday can we not talk about the time I murdered you please
pondering how priestess despite ostensibly being a character who a story has sort of positioned as a potentially maternal figure--doctor's past romantic partner ʸᵉˢ ⁱᵗ ʷᵃˢ ʳᵒᵐᵃⁿᵗⁱᶜ ʷᵃᵗᶜʰ ᴬⁱᵐᵉʳ'ˢ ⁶ᵗʰ ᵃⁿⁿⁱ ˢᵒⁿᵍ, creating AMa-10, her interactions with hierda-- and yet in a game which excels at creating really complex mother figures she is afforded none of that. She is cast as invariably cold, rational to the point of uncaring, detached to a degree it's frightening when she does try to display some semblance of caring. "Long time no see" feels more like a threat than anything, and her callous disdain for Kal'tsit says all we need to know about any potentially motherly feelings she could possess. I think that's why the shot in the Critical Phase Transition trailer where she has a warm smile and an adoring pose feels so jarring. I mean true, that's priestess before she trapped herself in the Just Monika torment nexus for ten thousand years, but also she is just....not that at all. It's all an asset to her. Compare this to her opposition within the story. Theresa and Kal'tsit both are (as morally gray as they are) constantly represented as maternal figures. Theresa taking in Ascalon, Manfred, Amiya, her care for the children of Kazdel and Babel, it's like her most defining trait behind her idealism. Kal'tsit is less openly affectionate but Louisa, Elliot, Rosmontis, Amiya, she has a whole slew of children she cares about deeply too. "I believe the children are our future" is sort of a paramount Babel/Rhodes Island tenet. Theresa and Kal'tsit are not perfunctorily parental, it is intrinsic to their characters. They love in a way Priestess does not, cannot.
I don't think Priestess thinks maternal love is worth anything at all frankly. Any child she did have would be either perfectly molded in her own image or inexorably discarded, such is the way of her acute narcissism. And that extends to that I think she thinks she loves the doctor. They did rescue her so long ago and they equal her intelligence and passion and so she sees them as someone worthy of something like love. I don't think it means the same thing to her as it does to the doctor though. And that's why we're in this mess.

I saw Sol Badguy at a grocery store in Iseo yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen senbreads in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the packs and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any magical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
