“Really? So tinder’s like Atom Kiss nightclub in Tokyo.” He shakes his head in a disapproving manner. Laughing off the way the other went into this social media app tangent. “I actually asked what you’re doing later, but I suppose you’ve answered that?” He joked with Bugs. 

“oh, later?” bugs said with a smile. “i’m teaching my class, but after i suppose i’m free. by the way, what year are you?”

“Oh uh, I asked if you’d seen a cellphone…um pink with a red beaded chain hanging from the side? …Because I’m looking for it for someone?” Fred muttered, as he tried to mentally walk back to where they’d even gotten to this point in the conversation just from his simple question. “But all that other stuff is pretty cool, I guess? I mean you used a lot of words I’ve never heard of before, like…thrinder? And bumblebff? But good for you, bud!

the phone the boy was looking sounded exactly like bug’s phone and, just because she liked to cause a stir when there was no reason to, she said, “oh this one?” holding hers up. she opened up her myspace app and started texting a friend, “yeah, i’ve seen it around.” and then she smiled, laughing at a joke her friend texted, and a bigger joke that neither her friend nor this boy could see.

“Tinder is soo vanilla.” He responded nonchalantly, joining the random conversation. Previously, he’d been sitting on the steps of one of the buildings. In the way, but minding his own business otherwise. “That would never happen on the app that I use.” He mentioned, looking the other up. “Nothing. Just that that’s a pretty choker.” A light shrug. 

the guy bugs had originally been speaking to - some confused freshman who was desperately looking for an excuse to leave - muttered a goodbye and stumbled off to class. bugs looked over at the person who walked over. “ ‘your app?’ let me guess, you’re a full-eyed and bushy tailed tech bro with an idea that will break the internet?” bugs would be lying to say he wasn’t invested, though. he loved messing with people, especially those with dumb ideas. “thanks, it’s one of my favorites.”
