Sorry for the delay, but here you are - thank you so much for being patient and for being so sweet, it's lovely that you guys want more! We've included a couple of headcanons about the cats along with some more general regular ones ☺️
31. Seunghyun is a huge movie buff, but he’ll always return to his favourites again… and again… and again. He’s also terrible for throwing in a vocal stim whenever the urge takes him, so it’s not uncommon for Jiyong to ask him to do something and Seunghyun to respond “I’m sorry, Dave, I’m afraid I can’t do that” in a spot on impression of HAL 9000. It really gets on Jiyong’s nerves, but then ten minutes later he’s singing the same line from the same new stupid TikTok song on repeat and getting on Seunghyun’s nerves in return.
32. They have a shared photo album on their phones where they put pictures of bottles of wine they’ve loved so they can remember them and get them again. It’s why they both upload so many photos of different bottles, because they’re saving them for their album anyway. If Jiyong tries a nice wine when Seunghyun isn’t there with him, Seunghyun makes him add tasting notes to his pictures and Jiyong will add shit like “subtle flavours of your balls first thing on a Wednesday morning” just to make him laugh.
33. Jiyong is a successful houseplant mama, although he’s mostly gotten by on luck because he can go weeks without remembering to water them. When he’s out of the country and video calling Seunghyun, he’ll ask him to take him around the apartment so he can say hello to all his babies - Zoa, Iye, his various succulents, his fiddle-leaf fig, the lot. Seunghyun finds this incredibly cute, especially when Jiyong’s face lights up if he sees Iye do a big stretch or one of his plants has grown a new leaf.
34. Speaking of the cats, they both love Seunghyun, but Zoa is particularly attached to him. She’ll put up with Jiyong fussing over her, but she will specifically seek out Seunghyun for cuddles. Because of her tiny little legs, Seunghyun loves to pick her up and take her around to show her all the paintings they’ve got in the apartment, as he’s convinced she doesn’t have as good of a view from the ground (and she patiently accepts it).
35. Seunghyun is terrible for over-ordering when they're at a restaurant or getting food delivered. He just wants to try everything, and he encourages Jiyong to try it all too, because he truly does value his thoughts and opinions on stuff. Jiyong will complain that he'll have to do an extra hour at the gym to work it all off, but really he loves the fact that he doesn't have to control or restrict his eating around Seunghyun, that they can just enjoy good food and good drinks together (and, as we know, actually Seunghyun prefers him with a little more to love 🫦)
36. Jiyong gets called lots of things by lots of people: handsome, sexy, cute--but his favorite is when Seunghyun calls him pretty. He likes hearing it in all contexts. First thing in the morning, getting dressed up for an event, getting folded in half like a pretzel by Seunghyun after a long day at work? He likes it all, because Seunghyun is the one saying it. (Bonus headcanon: I love the image of Seunghyun peeking up from his book of 1000 Chairs while Jiyong is preening in front of the mirror and getting a little dumbstruck at the sight of him. When Jiyong flushes and grins and asks what he's staring at, Seunghyun just laughs to himself and says 'Nothing, you're just stupidly pretty and I got distracted. Carry on." And then has to lift his book right in front of his face so he's not tempted to look again. SPOILER: He fails.)
37. Seunghyun was ever so slightly put out when Jiyong first adopted Iye. In fact, he didn't call him anything other than 'the cat' for the first month or so, if for no other reason than he was much more of a dog person and didn't like the idea of cat hair existing in the same space as Jiyong's artwork. That is, until Iye sat on his lap for the first time and he became legally obligated to love him. Now he's got 4000 pictures of Iye on his phone and calls him 'CEO Cat' since he very much considers Iye to be the boss of the house.
38. Seunghyun and Jiyong still call each other Turtle and Shell, and often leave each other little notes around the house using those nicknames. ‘Turtle, can you feed the cats at 6?’ ‘Shell, get me some of those chocolates I like while you’re in Dubai.’ It started out as a joke, but they genuinely use them affectionately all these years later.
39. When they're sitting side by side on the sofa, Jiyong pulls Seunghyun's hand into his lap so he can fiddle with the silver ring on his middle finger. Jiyong does this partially to keep his hands occupied (the man never sits still), but also to remind himself that he's the one who put that ring there and Seunghyun is really, actually here with him after everything.
40. There are very few words in the text messages they exchange. It's mostly memes, stickers, pictures of artworks, the cats sleeping in various positions, and grainy pictures of the moon taken from the backseat of a moving car. Neither of them find it particularly necessary to say much when they text--it's enough to know the other is thinking of them when the messages come through, and that a long, late night phone call will eventually follow.
