My apologies for typos. It's been fun seeing everyone's theories on how the next game is going to go! though this is not a theory post just me rambling questions because I'm never satisfied and I love to ponder.
I feel like people would be less annoyed with the direction the story of mw is going if 141 just went on a mission and got killed without explaining anything then for whatever reason moving onto a different story and team. Honest to God.
It's clear this game is a desperate attempt to grab the players and the fan base back after mwlll. Putting Ghost in his old outfit and mask, Price turning crazy on a whim, plus randomly being in Korea??? Gaz being nowhere to be found. Even then, you're Gaz watching your friends kill themselves because they can't handle their own emotions?
Lasswell is basically Prices leash to his collar, but she just doesn't care, she doesn't know, or maybe she knows and lets it happen? Maybe she doesn't care. And it's the same for Nikolai as well. It just doesn't make sense to the rest of the story from what we've seen. I feel like, Price losing his mind and going on more and more threatening and scary missions only to end up killing himself and or his team would have made more sense than this.
It's not that the characters aren't corrupt (especially cpt Price), but it feels off. I feel like they worked up this story of Price being Simon's safe space to an extent; someone he can somewhat trust after everything. But now they're just going to kill each other on top of a building because you're grieving so bad you want to join the cartel or something? You know who else is grieving? His boo thing! /J but you don't see him killing random ass people in Korea do you /J.
Simon has made statements about to "watch who you keep close" " be careful of who you keep close" And yes, this could be tied back to Price, but I feel this is closer to the things he's been through rather than price; and if it IS in reference Price then he was keeping some secret's that make him just as guilty, especially now that Soap is dead. and to have Ghost be the "sane one" as if he's not as corrupt. they're in the military for fucks sake; hence the note above
I feel this is torture/sadness p (not sure if I can say that word) with a hint of nostalgia bait. As if they are trying to bring back what made the OG games great (not that they were good anyway, no offense to the people who likes the games; I like them too!!!) but now the story makes even less sense than before. the 141 fell apart that quickly after Soap's death? everyone just gave up; no one was strong enough to hold it together; not even Gaz, no one reached out to each other ever?
I wish we could've had a game focused more on Al and Rudy, maybe from the perspective of the past or even more shadow company lore. if we had a game about anyone else it would've gone down smoother (Valeria hello?? or maybe Lasswell? like an actual game about them)
it took me a while to understand why this all felt so familiar and then it hit me..this is literally warrior cat stuff. like I'm sure there is a plot in one of those books with this exact idea. oh my childhood beloved religious cat books..
anyway. it's clear they are desperate to get the last money they can before moving onto another set of characters they'll just leave in the dust to die in jumbled plot holes as they do all they're characters. I don't believe 141 won't come back - you know the companies that own them and how much 141 makes them, but I think it's time to let it rest for a minute.
I typed all that and still have stuff to say about this mess but boy do I love mess lol
