Every BS lore-drop (and other stuff) in the SDCC QnA
Sorry I’m a little late to this one, but heres every confirmed bit of brawlstars lore we got from that qna with the devs. If i missed anything lmk and ill add it
Brawler Lore
Jessie's dad is Bull (specifically, a "big muscular guy with tattoos who's quite Bull-ish in nature" so... yeah her dad is Bull)
Belle and Sam are confirmed related to Colt, and the three are "kind of a family." Also, the three are referred as "the first family of Starr Park" (whatever that means). Belle and Sam also had something to do with the founders of Starr Park, but they are not the founders themselves
Charlie and Bo’s kiss was a one-time thing (at least on Charlie's side, Bo is still "a little obsessed").
Janet and Bonnie were children who got lost in the park before being found and adopted by Stu.
Also, Janet's 16.
Melodie and Jaeyong are not related (but he was originally planned to be her uncle before that got scrapped).
Lumi and Draco have "something" going on between them, but Lumi only likes him back a little bit, in her own aloof Finnish way.
Colt and Shelly are "friends" with Spike
Spike isn't really a "good" or "bad" guy; he can be both depending on who you ask. He's really just a force of chaos without any definitive motives or morals, and he seems to just have fun being a destructive rascal. He also is, according to the devs, probably the most powerful brawler lore-wise. Spike's mysteriousness ties into why Colette's so obsessed with him.
Park/World Lore
Starr Park is built on international waters.
The radioactive purple gems affect everyone in the park (including visitors) and affect their personalities, how they think, act, etc.
Brawlers never leave the park. No one really knows what happens if they do, other than that they'll lose their powers from being out of the gems' radius).
Brawlers can't die because of the gems (presumably only in the park, but that's speculation atp)
There are three trios per park world environment, each with their own sub-environments/attractions (ex: The trios in the 'Town Square' environment are the security bots, gift shop trio, and old towners (Barley, Byron and Piper). In 'Town Square' are the sub-environments of the Hub, the Gift Shop, and Old Town.)
Misc/Meta
The team is currently working on three brawlers, one of which is "Ziggy" (part of the Madevil Manor environment, but not in Draco and Lumi's trio)
The UX designer (Gonzalo) hated Dynamike and his stun gadget so much, that he admitted that his main motivation to working on the brawler-ban feature in ranked was so that Dynamike could get banned from games. Both the art director (Fernanda) and head writer (Drew)'s least favorite brawler is Edgar— Fernanda's for being her stand-in 'getting killed by other brawlers' guy whenever she needed to draw a new brawler taking down an enemy, and Drew's for Edgar players mostly just being really bad teammates lol.
For the BS dev team, their process when making a brawler is Gameplay/Base Mechanics > Theme/Character design > Lore/Relationships/Backstory
The brawlers are designed with their role as Starr Park employees being central to their mechanics/lore/personalities etc.
More lore-centric features coming soon (like the Trophy Road revamp and that security cam 'Mystery at the Hub' event)
The dev team has 300 page brawl stars lore bible for all the characters and the world (i would KILL to read this)
They're looking to make a Brawl Stars movie (i would kill to WATCH this omg)
