I was re-reading today and I wonder: - Do the children learn languages such as English which would help them translate the code? - Is the children’s main language English?

- If we go further, with genetics and all, we can assume they are not from the same country. For exemple, Ray can be Japanese and Emma can be German. There's a big difference between both language so the only way to communicate is with English. Or maybe the farm is in one place in particular and the kids has been exported there. Like child trafficking. So that can also mean that they talk the language of the country where the farm is.
