Denji doesn’t really mean to walk into the bakery.

Actually, he was just following the smell of freshly baked bread and sugar like a cartoon character led by a wiggly invisible trail of scent.

Don’t blame him though, I mean anybody would’ve been doing that if you’re out here walking in the streets with an empty stomach at 6 in the morning.

And before he knows it, he’s standing infront of a glass display case, eyes wide opened, mouth practically watering at the beautifully crafted delicacies infront of him. His eyes settle on the variety of different baked goods infront of him, everything lined up delicately waiting for customers to eat them.

He’s never been in a place that’s feels so…cozy. He feels like he could just sleep on the spot..! The sunlight streams through the curtains, painting honey-gold stripes across on the wooden floors. Heck, there’s even some smooth jazz music playing in the background! What kind of whimsical heaven is this?! The whole place smells like vanilla and coffee…

He continues to look around the store until his eyes land on you. You’re behind the counter, tying your apron on as you hum along to the music playing in the background, completely unaware of denji staring at you like you’re another perfect piece of freshly baked goods on display.

As he keeps on staring, he notices that you have a little smudge of flour on your cheek implying that you have been preparing the baked goods on display. Damn, so it’s all authentic huh? Usually some people would be stingy about it and re-use old bread just so they could sell it… denji thinks he might actually be dreaming right now

Sooner enough, you finally notice him after finishing tying up your apron. You glance up on him and you greet him. “Good morning sir! What could I get you today?” You smile at him, awaiting his answer. Yeah he’s doomed.

Not only the baked goods are looking so damn fine, even the baker itself looks fine too. He’s completely doomed.

He dosent even know if he has brought enough money with him and he swore that he’s just going for a morning walk around town. It’s so damn embarrassing admitting that he just came here to stare at the displayed food.

“Hello?” You ask him, noticing and taking note that he’s kind of lost in thought. You can’t help but wonder what he’s thinking about. “How can I help you sir?”

Help him? Yeah he could probably use all kinds of help but instead he just blurts out, “Uhh— yeah! I mean— I just came in ‘cause it smelled good..”

You smile, oh frick— you’re even cuter when you smile. “That’s a very good reason to come in! What can I get ya’ for today?”

He laughs nervously, scratching the back of his neck. “I don’t really, uh… know how this kinda stuff works. Like, with you know… bakeries? Is there, like, a… best thing?”

Your eyes lit up, and suddenly you’re leaning forward over the counter like you’re telling him a secret. “Actually, the strawberry cream buns just came out of the oven. I personally think that they’re the best!”

Denji’s stomach made an embarrassingly loud growl. “I’ll take that one!” He says a little too quickly. Honestly, it dosent matter what you would recommend him.. as long as you were the one recommending it to him.

You laugh at his reaction. “Alright! I’ll be back in just a moment!” Denji watches the way you move — so easy and carefree. He kind of starts to feel that this is all unreal.

When you came back, you handed him the delicately wrapped box. Denji fumbles to get his wallet, he’s so nervous right now he even forgot to ask how much was it. “Since you’re a first timer here….” You winked at him. “This one is on the house!”

He blinks and then stares at you dumb foundedly. “Wait— are you actually serious?”

You giggled. “Just promise me that you’ll come back!”

Denji grins, feeling his chest go all warm and fizzy. “Yeah. Yeah, I promise.”

Denji leaves the bakery a few minutes later after a small chat with you. His heart is fluttering in a way that’s got nothing to do with sugar.

And sure enough, Denji will make sure to keep his promise.

Denji had seen a lot of things in his life. It could be devils, guts, blood, power's.... digusting hygeine but nothing could have prepared him for you.

You were just the brightest thing in his eyes, his yellow-brown eyes following your every move whilst you were strutting your way inside of the Devil Hunter office with bright colored nails, glossy cherry lips, your hair always done up in some cute style, your phone case had a bunch of charms and trinkets on it, and you had the sweetest smelling perfume that made his head spin.

And somehow, somehow... you were interested in him! crazy right?

"Denji-kun!" you called out his name obviously excited to see him. You plopped down beside him on the break room couch, the distance between you and him were close enough for him to catch the smell of the sugary scent of your lipgloss. "I'm sooooooooo tired! I really need a break! why don't you do me a favor and carry me?"

oh. OH????

His brain quite literally short circuited right then and there. "HUH?? oh I mean carry you?? are you sure? Ain't that kinda-" before he could finish his sentence, you were already clinging onto his arm, pouting up at him with the biggest and shiniest eyes he'd ever seen. "Pleaseeeeee? You're, like, super strong, right?"

Denji gulped. He was so damn nervous but yet again you're right. He is strong. He'd beaten up a ton of devils before but somehow, lifting you felt like a even bigger challenge. His face burned up as he hesitantly scooped you up, arms under your legs and back.

You giggled, clearly enjoying all the reactions you're getting from him while you threw your arms around his neck. "Wow~! You're actually really good at this! Maybe you should carry me all the time!"

Denji tried to focus on anything except how your embrace was so soft against him. "Y-yeah, sure, whatever.."

You giggled at his completely dazed expression. "Haha! look at you! you're such a cutie! As a thanks for carrying me, why don't we go out for icecream after work?"

All denji could do was just simply nod his head, trying to calm himself down.

Honestly you and him would spend your whole day sitting down on the sofa watching whatever show is playing on the tv or simply just bonding with each other whether its by watching videos together, playing video games, playing board games and honestly just anything so you guys don't get bored.

Inumaki has always looked up to you and you were his idol ever since he was younger.

When it was inumaki's first time attending school, he had a hard time trying to communicate with the students since most of the students din't understand him which lead into him being picked on by some of the kids in his school. He would run home crying because he wasn't able to make any friends but you were always there to comfort him whenever he needed someone by his side.

At first, you and inumaki had a hard time communicating because of his cursed technique but the both of you made up some words that he could say or either write down some words on a small whiteboard to understand each other more.

When you were still in high school, you would always pick up inumaki from school and you guys would often go to the nearby convenience store and bought ice cream for the both of you. You would often ask about how his day was, what did he do at school, how was he feeling and all that stuff while you guys ate your icecream and went home before the sun went down.

Since inumaki dosen't see you as much anymore since he has been going to jujutsu high while you're currently attending college, you and him often video calls just to simply hangout or send each other texts to keep each other company.

"of course we can! but honestly, i think you have a great sense of fashion and you'll look good in anything so don't worry too much!" he kissed your forehead and assured you to not worry too much which has made you feel relieved and confident to try out the new style that you have wanting to try out. You and yuuji had walked in to the store and they staff had assisted the both of you. You started to go to the fitting room and try out the clothes that you had picked out and you looked at your own reflection at the mirror. You looked at your own reflection and you can't wait to see yuuji's reaction to your new style that you've tried out. You went out of the dressing room and yuuji literally ran up to you and hugged you and started praising you. when you tell him about your insecurities, i just kind of gets confused because 'why?' he dosen't get why you're insecure of your body cuz he literally loves everything about you but he dosen't question it

he will become your personal hype man and tell how amazing you look

if you're insecure about gaining weight, he will give you your favorite snacks where the nutritional facts are crossed out and there would be a little note that says "hi babe! take a lil break ok? i love you" attached to it, you laugh at the messy handwriting to it but also appreciate his actions

overall, denji would do anything to make you happy and distract you from the thoughts of feeling insecure

You and denji were just chilling on a friday night, you guys just finished eating dinner and you both were cuddling by the couch while watching whatever gameshow thats playing on the tv, the silence was comforting and you guys enjoyed each others embrace. "you know i really love you right?" denji said randomly while turning his head to look at you. "yes denji, i'm aware" you placed a kiss on his cheeks while playing with his hair. "honestly, i think i don't get to say how much i appreciate you cause i think im not that good at words but i just wanna say that i love every part of you." he kissed you by the lips. The both of you just stayed quiet the whole night and you feel appreciated and happy. The both of you cuddled and fell asleep and woke up by the morning.

You had decided to bring your sketchbook in the living room as well as you art supplies and started to sketch cute stuff like animals and your characters with cute clothing that you've styled yourself.

"Hey y/n, what is that?" power came up behind you and she wrapped her arms around you, pulling you close while peeking at what you are doing. You obviously blushed at the sudden affection and your heart started beating so fast. You tried to calm yourself down while distracting yourself, drawing.

For all these years, denji felt he was destined to be lonely. All denji wanted is to have a normal life, yet his life even became more ruined after he met makima.

His luck with love is shit, why does every woman that he ever met only wanted his chainsaw heart but not him? what was he lacking that other guys have and he dosen't? is he not good enough? those thoughts run over his head while suddenly, he heard an familliar voice.

"𝙃𝙚𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙟𝙞, 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙤𝙠𝙖𝙮?"

he looked at the direction where the voice came from, it was you. he spoke up and said "oh i'm fine, how is nayuta doing?" he said with a soft voice "she's sleeping soundly with the dogs beside her." y/n said while lowering her head to rest against the glass lining of the balcony.

God, she look so mesmerizing right now. He looked at her and observed her features. "you're really pretty." he musters out, barely audible. "Did you say something, denji?" she lifted her head up from the glass lining to face denji. "N-no! im okay!" he sputters out, embarrased. "Oh crap! i'm gonna get going now denji, it's really getting late and i still have some stuff to do, see you tomorrow! i promise to come over here again! Goodnight denji."

He watches her leave the apartment, was she always this pretty? considering it, she was always there for me even through the rough times that he's been through. Am i inlove? for real this time? i get so shy around her and my heart feels like its about to get out of my chest! god, can a guy ever get a break?

The next day comes by quickly, denji tiredly went to the couch and immidiately rested his head against y/n's shoulder while nayuta is in her lap watching tv together. "Oh hey denji! how was your day at work?" she beamed, eyes lighting up with join seeing him. that has gotta mean somethinf right? does she enjoy talking to me? "it was alright, i tried to do work quickly as possible but those damn devils kept on wasting my time." he sighs as he burries his head in your neck.

"Hey y/n, what do you think of me?" he randomnly says. "What do i think of you? I think of you as a person thats really important to me, i will always tey ti help you no matter what situation in you're in. cause i love you." she says truthfully but she mumbled the last part, hoping he wouldn't hear it.
