ironic
tamsy is shitty enough to hide your painkillers when you need them the most, especially during your period. it gives way for his excuse to rub his palms against your lower belly, the softness melding between his fingers. his body heat brings you mild relief. it shows through a sigh. but your adamancy enthralls him, he wouldn’t bother being with you otherwise.
“those pills are better than your scrawny fingers.” your words are trimmed with irritation but you make no effort to move from your spot. said digits trail over your mound, stealthily avoiding the area that’ll turn this into something erotic. he knows you know that blood isn’t his concern, he likes the mess—an artist starts with loose strokes on their canvas before revealing its true beauty.
“i thought you enjoyed it when i did this?” his thumb circles your navel. “besides, those pills are no good for your health.”
“your tenacity is no good for my health,” you look over the valley between your breasts to find wheat embellished in gold. “i can feel the impatience bubbling in me.”
“you might just be bloated.”
you scoff. “get off me,” your body languidly twists to remove him from your frame and you heave an annoyed sigh. “i’ll find them myself.” your gall is molded into entertainment by his hands, you’re too fun to tease to introduce you with a rougher treatment, not as of yet.
he likes it when you get snappy.

The first light of daybreak filters into the golden curtains from the large windows, painting the entire room in a brilliant hue. Light creeps toward the bed and illuminates your sleeping form in a radiant amber. Before long, the sunlight's warmth begins tickles your cheeks, stirring you awake.
As you slowly regain consciousness, your mind pieces together that the sensation on your cheeks isn't the sun's doing at all. You begin to stir as you finally register the faint taps grazing your glowing features.
Above you, your tall lover looms over your body. If you were awake you'd probably be a little frightened by his close proximity. His long blonde strands surround your head like a halo. The ambient lighting only furthers your angelic appearance by causing his surrounding hair to shine.
With a slight stretch, you pry open your eyes and get a glimpse of Tamsy's face departing from yours before leaning back in. It is then clear to you that the mysterious taps on your cheeks were from your soon-to-be's soft lips. He continues to press tender kisses along your face until you fully come to. When he sees your eyes focus completely, he brings his lips to your own, effectively locking them.
The kiss is longing, yet delicate. You bring your hands up to his head and bury your fingers in his scalp. You tug slightly at his roots as he moves his lips slowly in sync with yours. He let you set the pace considering you just woke up.
He pulls away, leaving your lips aching for more, yet thankful for the fresh air invading your lungs. His breathy chuckle hits your ears once he's met with the sight of you chasing after his mouth. He presses a final chaste kiss to your awaiting lips.
"Good morning, my love." Tamsy looked at you like you were the sole reason the Earth was able to spin on it's axis. A small smile graced his features as his eyes raked over your face. Loving thoughts filled the man's brain. Even when she wakes, she's still as radiant as ever. The luck I must possess to have a woman so divine.
The sun could do little to rival the burning passion he had for you. Even inner Tamsy was giddy about you.
You smile back. "Good morning, Prince Charming." He was enamored. Your voice was oh so soft from slumber and it was making him crazy. "What was all the extra loving for?"
He had to shake his thoughts and lock in. No way was he going to let you know he was internally gushing over you. "Did it disturb you?" His tone was genuine, the last thing he wanted to do was off-put you with his love. He's well aware that he doesn't show love in traditional sense, so he exercises caution when displaying his affection for you.
You sit up from your comfy pillows and take his hand in yours. "Not at all, I quite liked it." You bring his hand to your lips so you can kiss his knuckles. "Just wondering why you're being so sweet this morning."
"I wanted to shower you before our journey. Moments of sweetness are rare on the Ground, so why not start off extra sweet?"
"Oh yeah, we go today... so that's why you woke me up early."
"I thought you'd be more excited," his accented voice sounds a little shocked at your indifferent tone.
"I gotta reboot first before I can fully process it. Just give me a few minutes," you yawn.
"Well, while you're rebooting, change into this." Tamsy hands you light fabrics, much less heavier than the ones currently in your inventory. "It's warmer down there, I don't want my girl to overheat on her first visit."
You take the fabric from his grasp and walk into his bathroom to shower. Once you're dressed you make your way to the large closet. It was still filled with the same books and color swatches for wedding planning. You search the materials for a notebook to document your journey. You decided on a small pocket book that was previously for listing the VIP guests. Before you exit, you take a final look at your outfit in the mirror. It was more colorful that what you're used to wearing. Most of your clothes were white, a standard of the Sphere. Though, you needed to cut the admiration short since you and Tamsy were on a time crunch.
You greet your fiancé, who is now wearing a loose khaki colored outfit, similar to his uniform. For whatever reason, his wings were out and he began descending from the ceiling. Sensing your confusion, he explains himself. "I went retrieve the glowing stars from the previous night. If a maid were to walk in, it wouldn't be smart to have her reading hidden messages. How'd you get all the way up here anyway?"
"That makes sense," you nod. "I cloned a ladder and myself so she could make sure the ladder was stable."
"Why not just have the clone go on the ladder?"
"Ohhhh yeah, that was an option," you gasp. He lets out an amused huff at your face of realization.
"Speaking of, we must be off, so please grab Mimic," he says as he tosses the stars in the trash. "We'll need her to clone us before we leave; and you'll need to leave her here so she's close enough to keep the clones intact."
"...Right." Truth be told, you were a bit apprehensive about leaving your jinki alone in the palace while you were so far away. Your soon husband senses this and attempts to comfort you.
"Don't fret, my dear. I promise Mimic will be just fine. After you clone us, we can put her in a high place where no one will find her." He plants a firm kiss to your temple to seal his promise.
"Alright," you agree and clone yourself by holding the mirror away from you. Since you've cloned yourself before, your image is already saved in Mimic's memory. That means you didnt have to waste time pointing the mirror at yourself. You make another version of Tamsy too.
"You'll need this too," he holds up his oxygen mask for you to clone it.
"Uhhh," you start. "I can't reflect three things at once..."
"Right, that slipped my mind, I apologize." He places the mask on his face. "Clone me like this instead"
"But I already have a clone of you?" You tilt your head in confusion.
"Yes, but this way, the mask will clone with me and you can take it from my clone," he reasons.
Your expression brightens. "You're so right! Oh my gosh. I'm marrying such a smartie." You absorb the current clone of Tamsy and point your mirror his way.
"Reflect." A figure of light shaped like your fiancé begins to take shape. The light disappears and reveals a carbon copy of Tamsy. Tamsy then slips the mask off of the clone's face. "Change into your royal garments, please." Clone Tamsy nods at the command and walks off.
Your real lover helps you hook the mask onto your face. "Thank you, love," you hum and hand Mimic to Tamsy. He hides her in a good area and you smile. "It's a good thing the distance from Mimic won't affect the mask since Clone Tamsy will still be near her."
"I don't think I tell you enough how much I love your jinki." He says as he opens the window. "It's time to go love." He grabs a black book and tucks it in his sleeve.
You walk in front of him so he can place his arms around your waist. His embrace is tight as he unfurls his wings. You feel the book press into your body. "What's that?"
"A joke book, I did tell you I was trying my hand at comedy," he responds without missing a beat. "Would you like me to read a joke to you?"
"I'm good, thanks." Your response was quick. "Just don't drop me, please."
In one large swoop, you two are in the air. Behind you, your clone closes the window and gives you a thumbs up.
"I wouldn't dream of it."
Half an hour had passed since you first took off. Tamsy still held you securely, laughing at your wonder as you soar the skies. He couldn't see your face, but he heard your overjoyed cheers and laughter. It was a beautiful sound; your unabashed excitement was like cozy melody. He wanted to drown in this sound.
You figured he was laughing because he found the same enjoyment in flying. You couldn't be more wrong. Little did you know, it was due to your innate charm. You'd never know your fiancé's obsession with watching you experience every intense emotion. He drank it all up, happiness, sadness, anger, maybe one day even pleasure. Tamsy wanted to know you inside and out.
"Look down, darling." Tamsy begins a descent once he notifies you of what's below. Until now, you guys were surrounded by white clouds. Below you, heaps of garbage were starting to make themselves clear.
A small gasp leaves your lips, one of wonder and horror. On one hand, that's a lot of trash, on the other you're finally about to see the Ground. "This feels like a dream... a very trashy dream but a dream nonetheless." Tamsy laughs again at your uncertainty.
As you descend a little lower, some of the trash appears to be moving. You squint your eyes and make out dinosaur-like shapes. You try to look up at Tamsy for confirmation.
"Those are trash beasts. Quite big, aren't they?"
"I can't believe you actually fight those, they're so scary!" He can feel your shoulders slightly tense.
"We're just flying over them, they can't get us from here." He gives a reassuring squeeze to your waist.
"It'd be really messed up if you decided to drop me right now," you giggle.
"What is wrong with you...?"
His troubled tone only causes your giggle to erupt to a full laugh. Tamsy shakes his head and continues forward.
After a few more minutes, you land in a clearing a few meters away from a town. He tells you you can take your mask of so you do and you're immediately met with a revolting smell.
"I guess it's not surprising," you try to reason with yourself. You're quickly distracted by the realization that you are, in fact, in the pit. "Oh my God. I can't believe I'm really here! It does feel warmer." You bounce around excitedly.
Tamsy let's you calm down by yourself, not wanting to rain on your parade. When you do finally turn back to him he informs you not to speak of deities on the Ground because they have no concept of them. He also tells you to put your engagement ring in your pocket for safe keeping. He didn't want you robbed or outed as an outsider due to the expensive gem. Besides if he ran into someone he knew, they'd connect the dots that he was engaged. He grabbed your now naked hand and set a pace toward the town.
"Canvas Town is home to many artists. I think you'll quite like it. I know you have an affinity for a multitude of art forms."
"That sounds incredible. But, if the city's main focus is art, what would happen if someone tried to destroy the works?"
"That's the beautiful thing about Canvas Town. All the residents respect each other and harbor no intent to tarnish other creator's works. As for outsiders, the town's first spell caster casted a lasting spell that prevents ill-willed individuals from entering."
"Wait, wait, wait. Run that back. You said spells? Like magic?" You wrap both your arms around his right arm and look up at him. "Like real magic?"
"Yes, real magic," he confirms. "It's a beautiful place, I mainly brought you here to show you that The Ground isn't all bad." The fascination in your eyes fueled his desire to make this trip perfect for you.
As you neared the town, Tamsy told you that you couldn't hang on to his arm anymore. He didn't want any familiar faces suspecting that you were dating because that would cause questions. However, the small pout you gave made his heart sink a little.
"If you want, we can hold hands. My sleeve is long enough that it would cover them both," he comprises.
You slide your hand into his awaiting one and give a content hum. "I can work with this."
Normally, Tamsy would be disturbed by someone with a touchy or clingy nature. But with you, he has no qualms. It took you so long to work up to the point of being okay touching him or being touched by him that he feels honored any time that you got a little handsy. You still actively avoided too much contact with other people. Heck, you still sometimes avoid his touch, but he can hardly blame you. He was well aware that life hadn't dealt you the kindest hand.
When you reach the town's entrance, you spot two men struggling to pass the invisible barrier. Tamsy tucks you into his side as you stroll by them. You pass the barrier with ease; if the men weren't there as examples, you would've thought the magic was a lie.
Tamsy stops in his tracks and points upward. "These murals are the logos of Macaca Icol's friends. Macaca is the town's original spell caster."
"The one who made the barrier?"
"You catch on quick," he praises and you smile.
You join him in craning your head upward to view the ceiling. A particular logo catches your eye. The second logo reminded you of a flower, but not just any flower. It heavily resembles the markings on the top of your compact mirror, Mimic. You pull out your pocket book and take a quick note before shoving it back in. You turn to your fiancé. He was still examining the art, so you tug on his hand. "I want to see the city."
"Then see the city, we shall."
He leads you into the town and watches as your jaw drops. You were in awe at the sheer amount of art that decorated the walls. "It's like they have free reign to paint wherever I want." "They do. It's art everywhere you turn."
"No restrictions? So many people have left their marks here, it's amazing."
A few hours passed and all the walking you guys were doing made you hungry. From the sound of Tamsy's stomach rumbling, you could tell he felt the same. As if on cue, a tantalizing smell wafted through the air and flooded your nostrils. You couldn't tell what is was but it smelled delectable. Your fiancé, perceptive as ever, noticed you trying to find the source of the smell. Unfortunately, since you still weren't completely nose blind to the scent of trash, that overthrew your senses.
Tamsy, however, was able to track the smell instantly. With all his visits to The Ground, he'd become quite accustomed to the stench and was able to home in on the smell of food. He pointed the way and started walking in that direction.
"I guess your big nose is good for something, love," you tease and fight the urge to boop his nose since you're in public.
"And here I thought you liked my nose," he puts on a tone of false sadness. "Careful now, you'll make me insecure."
"Don't be silly, Tams. You know I like your honker. It's cute," you coo.
"Calling it a honker fails to convey that," he huffs, causing you to smile and he does too. You continue the rest of the walk with peaceful silence until you spot a truck.
It was a bright red and yellow, decorated with sharp graphics and harsh lines. Images of food items were scattered across the vehicle and you looked them over. You'd barely looked at it for a full second until you saw what you wanted.
"Look at-!"
"Already on it, my dear." Tamsy was watching you carefully. The moment your eyes locked on the birria taco, he knew what to order you.
The tacos were ready fast. They were placed in a checkered cardboard container. You were busy inspecting the red and white pattern as Tamsy dragged you toward a multicolored bench.
"I'm not used to seeing so much color," you muse as you sit down. "It makes me kinda jealous that the Sphere is so monochromatic."
"Perhaps when we go back up tomorrow, we can dye your outfits into colors you like," your fiancé suggests. You look at him with hopeful eyes but then shake your head.
"It's standard to wear white. I wouldn't want to stand out. Besides, it might seem like an act of rebellion and that's not great for a future Queen."
"You may have a point," he sighs.
You spent the rest of your lunch watching artists work and engaging in idle chatter. Once you finished eating, you wrote a little about the food and colors into your pocket book. To make your trip worthwhile, Tamsy decided it'd be fun to take you to do an activity. He took you to a pottery class. He said that he had done a few before and he thinks that you'll enjoy it.
Why was it so hot in here? Your face was warm and your palms were damp. It was so hot, you couldn't bear it... or rather your fiancé was so hot.
Tamsy's chest is pressed against your back. You sit between his legs as his arms engulf your own. His sleeves were rolled up and the slightly toned muscles were hard to ignore. Tamsy slid his finger's through the backs yours as he leaned on your body to get a better angle at the clay.
You were in charge of keeping the wheel spinning. You tried your hardest to focus on that one job but his breath fanning your warm ears made it nearly impossible.
"...and then we'll start pulling the walls upward." Oh that's right, he was speaking. You were so distracted by his lithe fingers pinching at the clay that you missed half of what he said. What you did gather, however, was that you were making a bowl.
He ran his index finger along the rim of the newly formed walls to thin out the top. The proximity was making you go insane.
"Darling, are you alright?" Your fiancé's concerned voice reached your ears and you realize you got distracted again.
"Oh- um yeah! I'm fine! Perfect, really, very nice. Why do you ask?" You ramble in the most unconvincing way.
Tamsy figures you must be uncomfortable due to his closeness so he scoots back a little. You instantly crave his warmth again, but say nothing out of embarrassment. He presses a fast kiss to your cheek.
"So much for not looking like a couple," you point out.
"My love, that ship sailed the moment I sat down in here with you. No one here knows me, so it doesn't matter. I can love on you all I want."
"Well thank goodness you don't like excessive pda then," you grin and help out with making the bowl's walls.
About 2 hours passed while you were in the pottery class. The students weren't allowed to take their bowl with them. The instructor said that once the bowls were fired and glazed, they'd be sent off to a charity. You thought it was sweet, so you wrote about it in your little notebook.
Now, Tamsy had brought you to the inn he booked. You had already showered, so he was in there right now.
Tamsy washed out the last bit of suds in his hair and stepped out of the shower. He dried his hair, put some product in it, and tied it in a hair wrap. He had stolen some of your lotion and used it to lather his body before getting dressed in his sleeping attire and walking back out to you. He shook his head once he saw that you were fighting the urge to fall asleep.
The lanky man climbed in bed beside you, spooning your body and checking if you were comfortable. You take a whiff of the air and turn your head towards him.
"I knew you stole it! That's my favorite lotion." You deliver a playful smack to his arm and his lips curl upward. He tucks his forehead into your neck and you both fall asleep.
Tamsy's eyes shot open in panic. The morning light shines in his beige irises and he sits up. Inner Tamsy was trying to form a plan. 'It's okay, I can just fly over and be right back. She'd never know if keeps sleeping-'
At that moment he notices you aren't even beside him anymore. His wide eyes search the room and he sees light coming from under the bathroom door. His ears catch the sinks faucet turning off so he schools his expression. You step out of the bathroom, no longer dressed in your night gown, but in an actual outfit.
"Oh good, you're awake!" You cross the room and give him a kiss before sitting beside him. "I was just about to wake you."
'Great. The one time she wakes up before me...'
"What's got you so energetic this morning?" He tilts his head and his hair follows the motion. The head wrap must've fallen off in his sleep.
"I figured since you take me back to the Sphere today, we'd wake up early so we can explore more," you beam. He can't even be annoyed at this inconvenience given the joy on your face.
'God, she's adorable. Fine, I can make this work somehow.' He glances over to his black book. 'I just have to make sure she doesn't suspect a thing.'
"I'll gladly take you exploring," he gives you an innocent smile and starts getting ready.
The scenery was, well... garbage. Garbage as far as the eye could see. Tamsy said he was taking you to a special place only he knew about. That sparked your curiosity and you agreed to go, noting the journey in your tiny book.
Tamsy lifts his arm to point to an abandoned building. "We're almost there."
"You're joking."
"Not at all."
"Are you planning to kidnap me?"
"I could never kidnap you."
You don't notice his subtle emphasis on the word. A few more steps and you reached the steps of the building. "Can I just wait here?"
He was tempted to say yes, but deemed it would be a bad idea just in case something happened to you. "Sorry dear, it's dangerous alone. I can't risk you being near scary individuals."
You sigh and follow him in, but only because your man was such an angel.
Tamsy was internally cursing at himself as he descended the stairway. He couldn't believe he forgot to feed Amo. She's lucky he finally remembered her when he woke up. The water he did have down here was thankfully enough to keep her alive.
A disturbed sound reached his ears and he felt how much you were clinging onto him. This entire place was covered in a dark and menacing atmosphere. He could tell it was getting to you.
"I won't let anything happen to you, don't be scared, my love. I'll protect you." He nuzzles his nose into your temple. That seems to calm you down a little and you finally reached the bottom of the stairs. He instructed you to stand right there as he tends to business.
"And you're sure I couldn't just stay outside in the very not-as-creepy atmosphere?" You frown at him and he nods.
"For your safety." Begins to walk further into the building. "I'll be right back." He turn his head back at you when he promises his return, but one look at your form and he immediately regret his decision.
You were trembling, holding your arms around yourself as a way to quell the shaking. You didn't even notice he had turned back around because you were staring at the ground with your pupils blown wide. He rushed back over to you and reached a hand out, to which you flinched at. You flinched. At him.
Looking up, your face relaxes a bit from seeing your lover's face. You accept his touch once he tries a second time. Lengthy arms wrap around your shoulders and pull you into his chest. He places his chin atop your head and starts rocking your bodies side to side.
"Poor thing," he coos. "I didn't think you'd frightened. An oversight on my part. I'm so very sorry, my angel. Do forgive me." He waits for your shallow breaths to mellow out before taking your hand in his. He'd caved and decided to take you further in.
So much for his plan to keep you from seeing Amo. But, he reasoned that almost sending you into panic mode was a worst choice. "Promise me, you won't freak out when we get there," he says.
You meekly nod in response. Your voice failing you. Tamsy sighs, seeing as the eerie place had made you go silent. He stops walking once you reach the bars were Amo is held.
Your eyes were still downcast, until you felt him stop walking. You finally bring your gaze up and what you saw horrified you even more than the building ever could.
In front of you sat a dangerously thin woman. Her cheeks were sunken and her lips were chapped. She looked like she hadn't eaten in days. She lifted her head up and looked at Tamsy.
"Not as talkative today, it seems," he observes as he sits some food in her enclosure. He decides he should leave before she starts going hysteric again. Before that though, he takes out what you believe to be his joke book, and recites some words to the thin woman.
He tries to lead you back to the stairs, but you're frozen in place. Your irises are shaking at you gawk at the enclosed lady. It reminded you of-
He opts to pick you up and carry you out instead.
As he climbs the stairs, the woman began screaming. Her despair makes you snap back to reality, faced with the horrors of present time.
Her screams make your ears ache "AMO WANTS OUT! YOU'RE SO MEAN! Let her go! Amo thinks you're an ugly lady!" Tamsy seems unbothered as he carries you up the stairs. You shakily grab your book and scrawl out something about the encounter. You put it back in your pocket once you get to the top of the stairs and ask him to set you down.
"Tamsy... What was that? Why is there a woman down there? Did you do that to her? What did you do to her? Why would you do that?" Your rapid fire questions went ignored and you caught a glimpse of his eyes beginning to glow.
"Tokushin."
He'd hoped he'd never have to use his instrument on you. Oh well, it's not like you'll remember.
"...Tams?" Your terrified voice made him frown at you.
"Don't be scared, my angel. I promised to protect you." He pulls out the same black book. "The Watchman series continues to prove useful."
That was the last thing you heard before everything went dark.
The winds felt rougher than Tamsy's usual flights. Maybe his consciousness was starting to get to him, or maybe a storm was brewing. He looked down at your unconscious body in his arms. Yeah, it's definitely his consciousness. The clouds were the same milky shade and the sky didn't hold an ounce of grey. It was seemingly a perfect day.
He swooped down to the palace and tapped the window to his bedroom. His own clone undid the latch to let him in. The clone peers at your seemingly sleeping figure and shoots a look at Tamsy.
"She's just tired, don't worry about it," he murmured. The clone seemed unconvinced, but left the room to tend to the prince's royal duties anyway. Tamsy thought there was something uncanny about being judged by a perfect copy of yourself. It was like he was looking in a mirror... in this case, that wouldn't be too inaccurate.
The blonde gently laid you across his mattress, and made sure you didn't stir. You looked peaceful. The steady rise and fall of your chest told him that you weren't experiencing any setbacks from his use of The Watchman book. He rubs a soft thumb on your cheek before giving you a forehead kiss.
I should get changed. Now that we're back on the Sphere, she'll be curious as to why I'm wearing something more colorful. I can't have her catching on or else it would've been useless to wipe her memory of our entire trip, he laments.
The only problem was that you may wake up before he's finished changing. You were wearing non-traditional clothing yourself, something you never do. Tamsy knew you would question him if you saw your outfit. He had to get you out of that, but he didn't want to undress you. That was a line he didn't want to cross. He'd never seen anything that the public hasn't seen on you and he was going to keep it that way. He respected your privacy and your autonomy.
'But how do I get her out of those clothes...' he taps his chin. 'Aha!'
Tamsy looked around for your clone and found her staring at Mimic, which he had put on a tall shelf in the closet. It seems even as a clone, you have some attachment to that thing.
"You there," Tamsy calls out, effectively getting the clone's attention. "Would you please do me a favor and dress my fiancée in her night gown?" He used the same tone he would use for anyone else. Despite it having your face, Tamsy didn't recognize the clone as you and felt no desire to treat it as you.
Your clone nods and grabs your night gown. Tamsy heads to the bathroom so he can shower and change. Thankfully, you showered at the inn and the trash smell didn't stick to you. He removed his clothing and stepped into the huge shower.
Your clone was removing your pants when she felt something hard. Confused, she slipped the garments all the way off and pulled the object out of your pocket. It was a tiny book. She opened it to the first page and saw many names written. She knew it was the VIP list for the wedding so she stuck it in the container in the closet.
She made her way back over to your resting figure and finished dressing you. Tamsy came out at that moment and walked over to the two yous. He grabbed your clothes and threw them in the trash. He bought them specifically for The Ground, so they needed to go.
He walked into the closet. He didn't spare a single glance at the container; he just wanted to grab your mirror from the top shelf. His long arms reached the compact mirror with ease and he exited the closet. Now, all he needed to do was get rid of your clones. Piece of cake.
Obviously, he couldn't use your vital instrument. Only you could do that. However, you told him once that the clone's couldn't touch the mirror or else they'd automatically absorb. So, he called your name to get the clone's attention.
She turned around and saw the mirror. She eagerly held her hands out, your love for the object naturally carried on to her. He places the mirror in her hands and she instantly turns into light and gets absorbed. Tamsy caught the mirror before it could hit the ground. Now, for his own clone.
Tamsy waited patiently for his clone to arrive. He glanced at you. It looks like you'd sleep through the whole night. That's good. His clone walks in and Tamsy wastes no time tapping him with the compact mirror. He, along with the gas mask that sits on the table, absorbed into the mirror.
Tamsy stretched. He was tuckered out and needed to rest. Tomorrow marked day six of his vacation and he needed to make sure you didn't remember a thing before he left.
Tamsy was internally singing prayers to whatever deity was watching over him. It was already the near night time and you didn't remember a thing. As far as you knew, your future husband took you many dates on the town while he was back. Exactly as he had written in the book.
There were no signs of fuzzy memory or any signs of distrust. Tamsy's worries had completely flown out the window. You were treating him just the same as you were before The Ground trip. He even wrote away the memory of him promising to take you!
Everything is going to plan. He couldn't help but to smile into the top of your head as he cuddled you. You were nestled deep into his body, savoring the warmth he gave because he wouldn't be here when you woke up.
"Mm... do you have to go?" Your voice was groggy. You were fighting off sleep.
"Afraid so, my dear." He rubs the back of your head. "Go to bed, you're tired."
"But you won't be here," you whine.
"I know. But if you go to sleep now, then tomorrow comes faster. If you go to sleep fast tomorrow, the next day comes faster. And so on and so on. And after all those nights, I'll be right back here with you."
"That's horrible logic."
"I know. Good night, my love."
"Good night, Tamsy. I love you."
"I love you, too." He waits until you're sound asleep to remove himself from the bed. He gathers everything he needs, and looks at you one last time. You were sound asleep.
"Don't miss me too much." He says before flying off.
A/N: WOOOO!!!! ACT II HAS BEGUN! Longest chapter for this series so far, that's crazy. Ok nowww let me explain the title.
As you know, Act I was named An Angel's Return. "The angel" refers to Tamsy. In that act, his fiancée mentioned something about being someone's salvation. In this act, the title word salvation refers to the the fiancée. So the title An Angel's Salvation could be read as "Tamsy's Fiancée" as well at it's literal meaning.
Idk, I thought it was clever. Thanks for reading! Comments, reblogs, and likes appreciated. No reposting my work or feeding it to AI please.
ALSOOOOO how are we feeling abt the new theme? Banner/dividers by me!

I made a gif for act II 🤭
I wasn't going to make this post because I wanted to surprise everyone. Then I figured, why not? Cuz when I post the fic, people's focus would be more on the writing than my banner redesign. Plus, if I dont use gachiakuta hashtags then only a few people will see it and the rest can be surprised!!! Win win
If you don't want to see the new banner until the fic is out, don't click read more/keep reading.
IT GLITCHES BETWEEN THE ACT I DESIGN AND ACT II DESIGN. I HAD SO MUCH FUN MAKING IT. (Please tell me it looks like a glitch 😭)
Also I started writing Act II 😗

Beware: Tamsy Manga Spoilers
An intense light burns through your resting eyelids, causing you to pull the covers over your head and doze back off. You roll on your side to snuggle against Tamsy, only to discover that he's not there. Letting out a defeated sigh, you pull down the covers and sit up. When you turn your head towards the window, you see your fiancé staring at you and pulling the curtains back even more. He wears a smug grin as he ties the curtains in place.
"Good morning, love"
"What are you doing?" Your voice was groggy from sleep, but you made an attempt to put on an accusatory tone anyway.
"Letting in the sunshine, of course," he replies. He begins walking over to the bed.
"My apologies, did I disturb you?" His tone was anything but apologetic, and the mischief is his eyes was evident.
"You're literally so evil."
"It's a new day. Don't you want to spend time with me while I'm off?" He peers over you from the foot of the bed
"Not at 6:30, I don't," you groan and toss a pillow his way. Unfortunately, you miss. Curse my drowsiness. "Lay back down with me," you whine.
"Hm, if me standing here gets you out of bed faster, I see no reason to comply with your demands." He shrugs his shoulders and begins to tuck his side of the bed.
"Fine, I don't need you anyway," you huff and reach for your pillow only to remember you threw it. You settle for Tamsy pillow instead, positioning it vertically to cuddle it.
"I can't believe I'm losing my fiancée to a pillow..."
Peeking one eye open, you reply, "Actually, you're losing your fiancée to the entire bed." You nuzzle farther into the mattress.
"Ah, so she's for the sheets."
"..."
You slowly lift your head up after a moment of silence, just to give him a disgusted stare. "God, that has got to be the worst joke I've ever heard come from your lips." Your scrunch expression never falters. "That didn't sound like you at all. I physically have to keep myself from gagging at how awful that was. Like I'm seriously going to have nightmares about that-"
"Point taken," he laughs. He bends his lanky body down to grab your pillow and tosses it back at you. He expects you to retaliate in some way, but when he looks back, your eyes are closed and your breathing is slowed. "You're lucky you're charming." He let's out a sigh, giving your forehead a kiss before walking out the room.
The prince made his way down the grand staircase and into the dining area. It was a luxurious space. Tall white columns lined the interior. Gold designs decorated the bottom of each of those columns. In the center of it all, a large dining table was place with chairs surrounding the perimeter.
Tamsy strolled into the kitchen, which was less lavish by comparison, but still sightly. He stuck a bowl on the marble counter and began rummaging through the fridge for ingredients. Since his attempt to treat you with ice cream failed yesterday, he intended to make you breakfast to make up for it.
Ever since being on The Ground, he'd been able to cook his own meals when he pleased. It gave the man a wonderous sense of autonomy. On The Sphere, he wasn't allowed to cook for himself because the higher ups feared he would burn himself somehow. Perhaps they were so peculiar about him cooking due to the burns that already adorned his figure.
Before he could even grab the eggs, the head chef sauntered in. The chef froze, taking in the sight of the heir to the throne in the kitchen. He shook his head and bowed.
"Your majesty."
Tamsy jumped once the head chef made his presence known. He closed the fridge and turned around to look at the older man. "At ease, Chef."
The man rises and looks up at Tamsy. "With all due respect, your highness, you shouldn't be in here partaking in such a lowly task. It is beneath you. I apologize for not being here sooner, it must have forced you to try to cook yourself. I will prepare your breakfast in no time."
"On the contrary, I am doing this because I want to. I quite like the culinary arts, and wish to treat my beloved to my cooking." His scarred face holds a gentle expression, a facade to cover up his true irritation.
"Nonsense! I can tell you are trying to be humble. There are dangerous objects in here." The chef begins to usher Tamsy out. "We wouldn't want you to ruin that skin of yours even more."
Tamsy sneered, but quickly masked it. "Well, if you insist." He takes a deep breath and lists his order. "I'd like freshly squeezed orange juice. Six 2x4 inch freshly baked croissants, topped with honey butter. Scrambled eggs with pink Himalayan salt and black pepper. Two fluffy pancakes. Bacon, but make sure it's not too greasy. I also dont want it overly crunchy. And finally, a bowl of the most exotic fruit we have to offer, harvested today."
The older man is visibly stunned. "...Two by four inch croissants, precisely?"
"Precisely."
Tamsy wanders off to the dining hall and waits there for the food to be prepared. After a few minutes, a different chef brings the fruit bowl he requested. Must've called in back up, he thinks as he peered into the bowl. He curls his lip up in disgust and points at the offending berry. "What is this?"
"Blueberries, my prince." The woman quickly replied.
"My fiancée hates blueberries. Remake the bowl, please."
"Can't you just eat around them?"
"Remake the bowl," his tone holds no room for argument. The woman rushes back to the kitchen with the bowl.
Tamsy smiles to himself. Might as well make a pretentious order with outrageous demands if they're so insistent on coddling me. Insignificant pests... who do they think they are?
The prince stands, thoroughly annoyed at yet another attempt to woo you ruined. At least I struck it big with the bakery yesterday. Since they're almost done cooking, he decides it's time to bring you downstairs to to eat.
He called out your name once he got to his room. However, your sweet voice didn't give an answer. So he decided to go check your room instead. He gave a rhythmic knock, to which you responded and told him to enter.
There you sat on the edge of plush bedding that was covered in blankets and pillows. In your hand was your vital instrument. You were cleaning it before he came in.
"Good morning, Tamsy!"
"I see you're finally awake." He looks down at your hands. "I'm always amazed anytime a Spherite becomes a giver. It's more common for Groundlings."
"I'm glad to be an exception, I love Mimic so much." You carress the mirror in your hand, tracing the flower-like pattern under your thumb. "Could you take me one day? To the ground, I mean."
His face falters. "My love, I don't think that's the best idea. The Ground is dangerous and you only know life up here."
"But it's not like I'd be going alone. You'd be there with me," you frown, trying to make a convincing case.
He gets closer to you to take you by the hand. "As adorable as you look pleading, I'll have to ask you to put a pin in it for now. We can talk about this later. Right now, breakfast is being prepared and I came to fetch you."
Seeing how your fallen expression didn't change, he spoke up again. "And... there will be croissants," he entices. Like clockwork, you beam at him and tug him to the door.
"Why didn't you start with that? Let's go!"
It had been a lazy day for you two. After breakfast, Tamsy took you for a walk in the castle's garden. That was pretty much the only notable thing that happened. The rest of your hours were spent watching movies and talking about overbearing staff members. Well, it was mostly your fiancé complaining about the staff. Now, it's night time and you've found yourself in his bed again.
"Dude, they're absolutely fire when they're baked into stuff. But, blueberries themselves should be thrown IN fire, they're so nasty." You'd been going on this tirade about how awful blueberries are for the past three minutes. Your fiancé had been pointing out your hypocrisy with the fruit after watching you eat blueberry muffins. Despite your lengthy lecture on how horrible you found the fruit, he was still actively tuned in.
"I guess you could say, they're berry bad." He looks for your reaction. Seeing nothing but a sour face, he continues. "I'm trying my hand at comedy."
"Stop trying your hand at comedy," you deadpan. "I think the half pinky is messing up whatever chance you had at stand up."
"That was clever," he notes. "Also, please refrain from calling me 'dude'."
"Get it?" You snicker at your joke and continue to explain it in a sarcastic fashion. "It's cause you said you'd try your hand at it, so I pointed out that the pinkie might be sabatoging you. Hand? Pinkie? Yeah you get. Haha I'm so funny."
"Why are you mansplaining? I just said it was clever."
"I can't mansplain if I'm a woman. Stop being misogynistic."
"How is that misogy-"
Tamsy's hay-colored eyes go wide when you flip him on his back and lay on top of him. "I'm bored. New convo."
"What would you like to talk abo-"
"The Ground. Let's talk about the ground."
"Always a dance with you," he sighs. It wasn't an annoyed sigh, he made that evident by the entertained look on your face. "I suppose you need to get rid of all your energy from doing nothing all day."
"That's right." You grab a handful of his long locks and rub the silky strands between your fingers. "How do you take care of your hair down there? Do they have good products?"
"You're interested in my hair care?" A blue eyebrow raised in curiosity. "Or are you just beating around the bush to ask something else?"
A delighted giggle erupts from your throat and you plant a kiss to his jaw. "You know me so well. So..."
The next ten minutes were spent with you trying to convince Tamsy to take you to The Ground. All of your reasonings failed, much to your displeasure. He kept telling you that he'd 'think about it'. Yeah right, you knew he was just trying to let you down slowly. So, you eventually gave up and fell asleep on top of him, with him following soon after.
The next morning, Tamsy woke up to an empty bed. It wasn't like you to wake up before him, and it certainly wasn't like you to leave without telling him. He blinked his heavy eyes to adjust to the sunlight filling the bedroom. Just as he began to get out of the bed, two of you came bursting through the door with plates in hand.
You and your clone walk over to the table that sits in front of his bed. You beckon him over with a wave. "I made us breakfast!"
Inner Tamsy wore a confused look. They let her in the kitchen, but it was such a problem when I tried? What sense does that make? Surely they'd treat her with the same standards as they do me... unless they didn't care because she wasn't of royal blood. That's practically discriminatory! Surely they don't have the gall to treat my future wife as less than.
"They just let you waltz in there?" Tamsy's actual face also held a perplexed look. Still, he got up to walk over to the table.
"Hah! That's funny, maybe comedy could be your thing," you tease. "Of course they wouldn't let me in. I distracted them with my clone and made us pancakes."
You absorb your clone into the compact mirror after finishing your explaination. She helped you set up the table for Tamsy before he made it over.
You pull out a chair for him, putting on your best Tamsy impression. "Ladies first, dear"
He rolls his eyes, paying no mind to your antics. "I think it's very sweet that you would do this for us. Thank you, my dear."
"Of course! I needed to treat you on your third day back." You point at your cheek and Tamsy obediently places a sweet kiss. He takes a seat in the chair you pulled out. However, upon looking at the meal, he noticed something strange.
The words TAKE ME were spelt out in syrup on top of the pancakes. Beside the pancakes were two fried eggs and one strip of bacon making a frowning face.
"My, my. How cyptic." He side eyes you as you sit down on the other chair. "I see you put extra care into the presentation. How thoughtful of you."
"Really? I don't think it's cryptic at all, actually. It's really straight to the point."
He frowns at you. "I admire your passion, but I still don't think you're prepared to see the ground."
"Don't worry, Tamsy. You'll cave eventually," you declare, taking a sip of orange juice. Now that sounded cryptic.
You were exhausted.
It was seven o'clock at night. The moon had settled for the night, trading places with the sun. Thankfully, the overhead chandelier in Tamsy's chambers allowed the room to remain covered in light. Unfortunately, even the warm, radiant shine did little to restore your energy.
You had pulled out all the stops to convince him to take you to The Ground. Hidden messages, desperate pleads, and long speeches, but nothing worked. It was like Tamsy had an iron will. He seemed completely unbothered by your shenanigans.
"Oh, that one was quite nice. Can't wait to see what you have in store next." His closed eyes paired with his lazy smile is starting to get on your nerves.
You pout, setting down the cardboard diagram you made of a trash beast. It looked more like a dinosaur, but in your defense, you'd never seen a trash beast before. Falling face first on the bed, you groan. "I thought it'd be way easier to annoy you into caving."
"Darling, if you'd have ever saw me with my rowdy teammate, Delmon, you'd know that it could be quite easy."
You don't respond to his attempt to ease your mind. Noting this, he sits on the bed and rubs a comforting hand along your spine. "Why do you want to visit so bad, hm? I didn't think you'd find the idea of a giant garbage heap appealing."
"I don't!" You responded with haste and pull yourself in a sitting position. You were ranting now. "I don't imagine anyone does. That's why I want to go. How could I possibly help without knowing the challenges they're facing just to survive? You said once we were wed, I could bring my converting trash to energy plan to parliament. That's a start. But even with that, if The Ground is flooded with waste that is not nearly enough to ease their struggles. I can't even begin to imagine the mass of filth they're forced to live in. Their air is polluted for God's sake. I need to see it first hand to understand the problem before I can even begin to think about how to tackle it."
Tamsy sat, astonished. He was blown away by the passion in your voice from the moment you started your speech. For anyone else, this may have been an overwhelming conversation, but for him, it was exactly what he needed to hear from you.
"Okay," he nodded.
"Okay, what?" You furrowed your brows.
"I'll take you tomorrow. You've convinced me."
"Wait, what? Are you being serious?"
"I think we both know by now that being unserious isn't my strong suit."
It's your turn to sit in shock. You were in such disbelief that he finally agreed that your mouth hung slightly open, unable to form words. Soon enough, you regain the ability to function and sling your arms around his shoulders with a squeal.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyou, Tamsy," your enthralled voice is right next to his ear as you slightly sway your bodies.
"Still, it is a little surprising to see you so happy about this."
You retract your arms at that, visibly deflating again. "Well, it's not just that." You slide over a bit to create distance between your bodies and look away from the prince. Your hand finds its way in your hair as you speak.
"You're always gone for months on end. I try so hard to be okay with that, but it's so difficult. Not even just to keep everyone's suspicions down by cloning you, but just not having you in general sucks. It hurts." Your voice was shaking and your eyes filled with tears. "I miss you all the time, but I have to stress about if I'll ever even see you again. I have no way to know whether you're alive or dead. Or if you'll decide to abandon the kingdom and live the rest of your days on The Ground. I'm stuck here wondering if you'll return or if I'm going to have to cover for you for the rest of my life. And I don't like it because I've never felt this way about anyone before." Your voice cracked on that last sentence, raw with emotion.
It broke Tamsy's heart to see you like this.
But God if he didn't love seeing you cry.
Blinking his lashes, he grabs ahold of your chin with one of his large hands. He turns your tear stained face to his own and cups your face in both of his hands. His nimble thumbs rub circles into the apples of your cheeks. Your blurry eyes try to make out his features. He's wearing a gentle smile with kind eyes. At least, that's what you think. Your eyes are too watery to tell that his smile was a pleasured one. He was absolutely joyful to see you this passionately worked up over him.
"My dear, you are truly an angel. You work so hard for me and it seems like I havent been showing you enough how much I appreciate that." His thumbs work at wiping your tears now, though it does little as fresh ones continue to fall. "I would never even think about leaving you forever. How could you ever conjure such an idea in your head? I can't imagine what's going on in the pretty little mind of yours right now."
He presses soft kisses to each new tear that falls, savoring the salty taste on his tongue.
He pulls back so he can speak again. "I'm sorry I haven't spent much time with you, love. I know a week isn't nearly enough to make up for such a large scope of time."
"That's okay... I'm sorry for making such a big deal out of it. I know I agreed to cover for you." You continue to avoid his piercing gaze. Your lip quivered a little, but your tears are starting to slow. "Now I'm all gross and crying." You let out a weak attempt at a laugh.
"Don't apologize. You could never be gross to me, darling. I think you look beautiful even while crying." It sounded innocent. If only you knew just how much he enjoyed your beautiful tears. Maybe you'd cry for him more, he thinks.
"I love you, Tams."
"Not as much as I love you, dear." He grabs your bonnet from the bedside table and secures your hair inside. "We need you well rested for our journey. Let's go to bed early."
"I was going to suggest the same thing. Way too many emotions for one day."
When you lay down and fall asleep, Tamsy moves to turn off the lights. Though, once he lays down and closes his eyes, he sees a faint glow behind his eyelids. He opens his eyes and looks to the ceiling.
In glow in the dark star stickers you had written: "I knew you'd say yes :)"
A/N: This was originally supposed to include them actually going to the ground, but I felt that would make it too long and no one would have the time to read it. This was a good stopping point for this act, so I'll try to make act 2 into 3 parts as well. The first part would include what I was going to add in this post.
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed. Likes and comments appreciated! Please don't put my works into AI or cross post.
