The story of Final Fantasy XV takes place in Eos; also known as “The Star”. Where the six Astrals (Gods) are charged with defending Eos and it’s denizens from all threats. These Gods are : Titan (Earth), Ramuh (Storm), Leviathan (Sea), Shiva (Ice), Ifrit (Fire), and Bahamut (war). In Shiva’s eyes, humans are feeble creatures that lead fragile lives and cling to foolish fancies. She scorned these visions which are known as hope, but Ifrit admired their strength and will. He granted them knowledge of fire and flames for their reverence.

Thanks to the newfound knowledge of fire, the world of man started flourishing. With time the mechanized civilization of Solheim spurned the Gods who blessed them. What Solheim did was nothing to be ignored. Their thirst for the absolute power over life and death drove them to attempt building machines to kill the Astrals and doing so incurred the wrath of the Pyreburner. Ifrit tried to raze the civilization that his flames once helped build, but -as it is known- the six are sworn to defend The Star which then began a war called, “The War of the Astrals”.

The war was waged between Solheim, the Astrals, and their messengers -which are magical beings sent by Astrals to help make the gods will known to mankind.- In the end, Ifrit was killed and his body was laid upon the Rock of Ravatogh and Solheim was left in ruin and the Astrals fell into slumber having lost their powers because of the war, except for Bahamut; whose location is unknown.

The following events weren’t good either. The next chapter speaks of betrayal: A usurper that overtook the throne from his brother. It speaks of Ardyn Lucis Caelum, the first rightful king of Lucis.
