Are the Carolina Panthers onto something with their no-contact practices?
Did you hear what happened to Cleveland Browns offensive Tackle Ryan Miller? He ended up with a serious concussion during practice. And Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin is out with a season-ending injury—all this because of tackling and serious contact during training camp.
So it should come as no surprise that a lot of NFL teams are limiting how much contact is involved during preseason practices.
Case in point? The Carolina Panthers. This year, during preseason practice, full-contact drills are being replaced with a zero tackling style of play. Here’s how it works.
Instead of drop to the ground, roll over, and stop the ball tackling, the Panthers are opting for form tackling. In a nutshell, defenders will wrap up ball carriers, but they won’t complete the tackle the way they would during a NFL regular season game.
Sports bettors can agree that this is a solid move for limiting injuries on the field before the season gets underway, but can it actually work? We’re not so sure. While tackling could help players avoid concussions during the preseason, the lack of physical play means that they might not be quite ready to take the field once preseason play starts to unfold, not to mention the regular season.
What’s more, a recent study on concussions suggests that they’re less likely to happen during practice than they are during games, so it might not be the smartest move. And here’s the thing. The torn ACL that Maclin suffered? It happened during a drill that was actually non-contact.
Still, this less-contact movement could be taking off. The state of Texas has decided to limit contact in football practices to just 90 minutes a week, with the same goal of staving off injury. And the Pac-12 conference now only permits two full-contact practices each week.
That said, while individual states, conferences, and schools are making decisions to help players stay healthy, the mandate is happening from the bottom up, not the top down. The NCAA has decided to stay out of it, and clearly the NFL is the same way.
But if statistics end up proving that the Panthers were on to something, and with the NFL getting serious about concussions, it’s very possible that eventually non-contact practices will be mandated.
Why we’re excited about the Dolphins pass rush. Yes, the Dolphins
The Hall of Fame game goes down this Sunday, and it’s between the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins.
The Cowboys, who walked away with an evenly split 8-8 season. And the Dolphins, who failed to impress with a 7-9 record that was nary a tad better than the Buffalo Bills’ 6-10 season.
Many NFL predictions have written Miami off not just for preseason play, but for the entire NFL season. Most agree that the Dolphins will do at least as well as they did last year, but few are willing to wager that they’ll have a more successful season.
These predictors are dead wrong. Using last season as a guide, we totally get it. The Dolphins were pretty bad on every inch of the field. That included the pass rush, which was way too weak. Yes Cameron Wake was solid, having a fairly stellar season with 15 sacks. But he was really the only guy sports betting online enthusiasts could count on.
The Dolphins, unfortunately, put too much stock in Wake, hoping that he’d deliver. He did, but his teammates didn’t. To give you an idea, Wade’s 15 sacks were more than the other Dolphins defensive linemen had combined.
So if you were to go by last season alone, yes, you shouldn’t have too much faith in Miami. But there’s more to the story here.
The Dolphins upper brass took notice of the problem with relying on one guy, so they upped the ante by signing Dion Jordan in the 2013 NFL draft. He’s the defensive end from the University of Oregon with some seriously powerful athleticism rarely seen in Miami, at least recently. He’s 6’’6” and 249 lbs, and he’s got the type of explosive speed that will likely send shivers down the spines of the fans in the stands and the QBs he’ll take down.
With Wade, Jordan can help the Dolphins become one of the most feared pass rush teams in the NFL. And when you add Oliver Vernon on the field, a guy who scored 32 tackles last season, you’ve got a pass rush that could prove to be the most feared in the league.
Don’t forget to watch the Miami Dolphins in action this weekend at the Hall of Fame game. And if you’re not a Dolphins fan, it doesn’t matter. Preseason play is about to kick off, and in just a few weeks the regular season pigskin will start flying.
Three intense football players to watch this NFL season
With every that we inch closer to the start of the NFL season, the excitement build—and so too does the intensity. With just weeks before preseason play kicks off, we’re taking a look at some of the NFL’s most intense players. We can’t wait to see what this cast of characters does as soon as the pigskin starts flying.
Troy Polamalu - Pittsburgh Steelers
If you’re a sportsbook betting fan, you definitely remember that classic Head & Shoulders ad with Troy Polamalu. He’s asked whether he’s been borrowing some shampoo for thicker hair, a charge he denies. And which each denial, his hair grows thicker and thicker.
It’s pretty funny. And if you didn’t know Troy, you’d assume he was a lighthearted football player who doesn’t really tear up the field. But he does. Hardcore. The Pittsburgh Steeler safety gives an undeniable 100% every second he’s on the field, pushing through an intensity that’s unmatched by most in the NFL. Just look at his pregame huddle. You can see all the other players trying to match his intensity and focus in that huddle. Barely anyone can.
 James Harrison - Cincinnati Bengals
If you’re talking about athleticism alone, Polamalu was arguably Pittsburgh’s best defender. And while he’s high on the list of intensity, he’s outshined by James Harrison. Harrison is famous for his stare of death, which instills fear in even the most hardened NFL player. He’s known for his reckless style of play, something that Steelers fans absolutely loved by that Roger Goodell hated thanks to Harrison’s disregard for pretty much all safety rules. Should be interesting to see how Harrison changes things for the Bengals this year.
 Cortland Finnegan - Tennessee Titans
Cornerbacks aren’t as famous for their intensity, but mobile sportsbook followers who think that Cortland Finnegan is pretty ridiculous aren’t seeing things. We widely consider him one of the top antagonists in the entire league.
Why? Because he somehow manages to find himself in crazy fights with opposing receivers. Who can forget his epic brawls with Andre Johnson, Brandon Marshal, and Hines Ward throughout his 7-year tenure. And when he called out Craig Dahl for trash talking last month on Twitter? That was beyond classic. We can’t wait to see what actually happens when he takes the field this sports betting online season. Like our picks for the most intense NFL players? Then go ahead and tweet this article. Just try not to Tweet Cortland Finnegan. He might get pissed off and call you out.
Tony Romo’s Weight Gives New Meaning to the Term Pigskin
It looks like people calling other people fat isn’t restricted to elementary and high schools anymore. It turns out football fans at sportsbook betting sites are all over talking about how certain players have been piling on the pounds.
Case in point? Tony Romo. He’s fat. At least according to Twitter. Over the weekend, the Dallas Cowboys QB’s weight gain was a huge trending topic among NFL fans.
For the record, Romo weighed in at 236 lbs according to the Cowboys. He claims he weighs in between 227 and 230, depending on the day you catch him.
We think the Twitterverse should cut Romo a break. After all, after a surgery to remove a cyst on his back forced him to rest for a bit, Romo essentially packed an entire offseason of hardcore training and conditioning into about six weeks.
If this were a week or two ago, it probably wouldn’t have trended all that high. But since we’re already in mid-July, with training camps on the horizon and pre-season matchups literally just a few weeks away, the fact that everyone was all over Romo’s apparent penchant for donuts and buckets of lard is a clear sign that the world can’t wait for the first kickoff of regular season NFL play.
You can expect Twitter to explode even further in the coming weeks. That’s because NFL teams are starting to report the statuses of their players in anticipation of training camps (all teams will be in full training camp mode by Saturday).
In the coming days, we’ll know things like whether RGIII will be healthy enough to hit the ground running after his knee injury. Look for him in Richmond today to make that clear.
Mobile sportsbook followers also can’t wait to find out what the New England Patriots offense will look like. After all, they’ve undergone a series of changes on the field, much of which was due to circumstances beyond their control (we’re looking at you, Aaron Hernandez).
It’s an exciting time for NFL sports betting online enthusiasts, so keep your eye on Twitter to see what unfolds over the next week or so. And if you like some of the stuff we’ve talked about here, don’t forget to tweet this article.

Your Really Early Guide to the 2013 NFL Season
Do you smell that? Football is in the air, we can taste it. We know, we know. It’s only summer. We’re literally months away from week 1 of the NFL. But we’re diehard sports fans, so we can’t help but look ahead. And the 2013 NFL season is shaping up to be epic. Here’s a look at what we really like about what’s about to hit the field.
The San Francisco 49ers
We know the Ravens wont the Super Bowl. Every sports betting online member who bet on the 49ers remembers that—heartbreakingly, no less. But Colin Kaepernick was an unbelievably impressive QB last season. After taking over for Alex Smith who was out with an injury in week 10, Kaepernick proved naysayers wrong and led San Fran to the big one after a mere nine NFL starts. In fact, you could argue that Smith wouldn’t have taken the NFC Championship game against Atlanta, so everyone really has Kaepernick to thank for getting San Fran to the place nobody thought they would after Smith was injured.
The potential for amazing week 17 action
We know we’re not even in week 1. Heck, we’re not even in preseason territory. But still, we can’t help but look to the end of the season. And week 17 is promising to be stellar thanks to the NFL’s decision to include division matchups in every single one of the league’s week 17 games.
What we saw in 2012 were tons of pre-playoff games that built hardcore NFL playoff excitement. And that made sports bettors and football fans in general way more excited than in most years.
Just look at the Packers, who headed to Minnesota. The Vikings needed a win to make the playoffs, and Adrian Peterson came through to force a rematch the next week.
Or take the Cowboys, who went to the nation’s capital to face the Redskins. It was a winner-take-all playoff game for the division title—and it meant everything. Tony Romo ended up throwing three interceptions and the Cowboys took a 28-18 loss. RG3 and his Redskins kept sports fans on the edge of their seats, taking the division title at the 11th hour.
The 2013 NFL season is shaping up to bring the same kind of excitement leading up to the playoffs, so this should be interesting. There are actually six matchups right now on the schedule for Week 17 that could very well determine seeding, wild card spots, and division winners. That includes the Packers vs. bears, Ravens vs. Bengals, Buccaneers vs. Saints, Redskins vs. Giants, Chiefs vs. Chargers, and Rams vs. Seahawks. Of course, we won’t know how crucial Week 17 will be for these 12 teams until we actually hit the final leg of the schedule.
A new NFL rivalry to go crazy for
We think the Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers rivalry is shaping up to be heated. It might even be the fastest growing rivalry in NFL history. And that means crazier action on the field and more fun for the fans.
Think about it. You’ve got two coaches who don’t exactly love each other. And you’ve got young quarterbacks, solid and younge defensive squads, deep backfields, and more. It all adds up to two teams who can be really successful over the long haul.
Expect to see these two teams build up and chase the NFC crown with more blood in the first quarter than most games feature in all four.
Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez Make New England Patriots Fans Very Nervous
There’s a big danger facing the New England Patriots this NFL season, and if you’re a sports betting online enthusiast it could affect how you bet this NFL season. Actually two big dangers.
No, we’re not talking about the Patriots-Colts rivalry. Nor are we talking about their rivalry with the New York Jets, who they’ll get to face off against in September and October. We’re talking about a major force on the New England Patriots. And no, we’re not talking about Tom Brady.
The guys to be concerned about? Rob Gronkowski. And Aaron Hernandez, but more on him in a second.
It’s no secret that Rob Gronkowski has been in and out of surgery since November. But his back surgery on Tuesday could potentially sideline him through training camp—and, even worse, the beginning of the regular NFL season.
Rob Gronkowski is viewed by many odds on NFL followers as the hands-down most productive receiving option the Pats have going for them this season.
Here’s something big to think about. When Tom Brady throws to Gronkowski, he has close to eight times more TDs than interceptions. That’s big compared to all other receivers, who collectively hand Brady a ratio of 2.5:1 pickoff ratio.
And he’s an NFL leader. Over just three seasons, Gronkowski has racked up 38 impressive receiving TDs. In that short span, no other receiver comes close. In fact, in NFL history, only Jerry Rice and Randy Moss have amassed more receiving TDs in their first three seasons.
He’s also a red zone powerhouse, leading the league once again with 29 TDs since 2010. And in terms of receiving yards, he’s equally impressive.
Of course, all stats aside, there’s a physicality that will be missed on the field should Gronkowski not take the field. The 6’6”, 265 lb powerhouse is a physical player, with the perfect size and speed that opponents fear. Bottom line? Before you fire up your mobile sportsbook or attempt to lay down money on New England at an online sportsbook, you’ll want to see how the Pats do without him. He’s been crucial for the Patriots and his absence will be felt. In terms of Aaron Hernandez? Right now he’s probably wishing he were recovering from back surgery. On June 21st, an arrest warrant was issue for a charge of obstruction of justice. The charge relates to a homicide investigation, which is never a good thing.
We’ll be following to see how that plays out, so stay tuned.
The world’s top three golfers fall: A US Open Merion Round 1 review
Do you follow golf? The PGA tour? The US Open? Then you’ve probably got your HDTV tuned to the Golf Channel and your laptop hooked into tons of US Open 2013 Twitter feeds.
If you’re not much of a golf nut, you still know the names Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, and Rory McIlroy. And you probably would assume that they’d have killed it on the green today.
But if you tuned into the US Open 2013 today expecting to see the world’s top players making huge gains, that didn’t happen. While Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, and Rory McIlroy were collectively a big crowd drawer, no one who came out to watch really saw what most gold US open followers had been hoping.
Aside from Tiger Woods’ first-round start that saw him hole a 4-footer for par, nothing really went smoothly for Tiger. He saw two bogeys and a birdy over the last six holes at Merion—and that was the best of the entire group, or at least the three everyone had been watching.
Adam Scott began the day at three under par after he birdied the 11th hold yesterday. Today, when play resumed, Scott ended up bogeying holes #12 and #14. Number 15 was just as non-stellar—Scott hooked a tee shot out of bounds. That led to a double bogey. Speaking of bogeys (seriously, how many bogeys can an all-star rack up?), Scott saw another one on hole # 17.
Scott’s score of 72, despite not being amazing, was still the best score of the all-star trio that everyone had been watching. McIlroy and Woods both ended up shooting 73.
At the end, it was Phil Mickelson who would take control of Round 1 of the US Open 2013 at Merion. He leads the first round with 3-under 67. If you’re an online sports bettor who follows the Golf US Open event, don’t forget that many major online sportsbooks offer lines. That means you don’t just have to be a spectator. You can get in on the action and win along with the top performers.
Will Miami Heat players pick their jaws up off the floor before Game 4?
Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of sports betting online professionals walking around the street with Gary Neal or Danny Green jerseys. After yesterday’s performance in which the two San Antonio Spurs combined for an impressive 51 points against the Miami Heat, we can’t say we blame them.
Last night, the star of the Spurs wasn’t Tim Duncan or Tony Parker. It was Neal and Green, who took furious control of the hardwood and left the Miami Heat leaving the hardwood with their jaws on the floors.
Sports book members who bet against the Spurs to take Game 3 are kicking themselves today. After winning Game 1 and dropping Game 2, many had assumed that the Heat were poised to win Game 3, having finessed their game and grown accustomed to the Spurs’ style of play on the hardwood.
But clearly, that wasn’t the case. Tony Parker surprised the Spurs by making sure Gary, a backup guard, took the spotlight. Miami had been aggressive against both Parker and Manu Ginobili in previous games. Instead of responding to Miami’s aggression by stepping up theirs, San Antonio changed the channel, moving the ball when it counted to Green and Neal.
Neal walked away scoring 24 points, and between Neal and Green the game saw 13 three pointers.
The end result? A 113-77 win for San Antonio that dropped Miami’s ego down a few notches and a loss that Miami fans and sports betting online experts are wondering if Miami will overcome.
But don’t worry. If you’re a sports book member who loves to bet on the NBA finals and take Miami (this is your third year being able to do so), there’s still hope. In their NBA Eastern Conference finals, many sports betting online professionals totally counted Miami out once the Indiana Pacers pushed a Game 7. But in the end, Indiana fell to the mightier Heat.
Show me the money: How prize money stacks up from sport to sport
During the NBA and NHL playoffs, it’s tough to remember that there are other sports out there. If you’re all about sports betting online, it’s perfectly natural to be so narrowly focused this time of year. The battles on the hardwood and ice steal the spotlight from other sports until the end of June, but outside North America they really aren’t that big of a deal.
And moneywise? They aren’t the impressive either. In fact, neither baseball nor hockey rank among the world’s richest sporting events.
We know what you’re thinking. Money? Don’t players just get paid a salary and then try to win the championship just for pride? Isn’t money just a concern of online sportsbook members looking at NHL odds, NBA odds, and odds on NFL games? Well, there’s nothing quite like an ego boost that comes with crushing a major field of competitors. But the reality is pro athletes make more money for winning the finals. Here’s a look at how some pro sports paid out in the past. UEFA Champions League In this soccer league, teams are paid when they qualify for the Champions League and when they win games during the tournament. They’re also paid extra based on the size of their market. For the 2012-13 season, UEFA hands out €2.1 million to each player in the playoff round. In the group stage, the pay jumps to €8.6 million. And money is paid to the winners who reach the knockout round, quarterfinals, semifinals, and the finals. Winners and runners up both receive cash, too. FIFA World Cup The total prize money for the FIFA World Cup in 2010 was an impressive $420 million. The distribution is impressive--$8 million is awarded to each team who make it to the round of 16, $9 million to the round of eight, $14 million to the round of four, $18 million to the 4th placed team, $20 million to 3rd place, $24 million to 2nd place, and $30 million to the winner.
The Super Bowl
Yup, it’s not just getting to go to Disneyland that makes winning the Super Bowl so lucrative. While you’re following odds on NFL games and trying to figure out where to drop your money at sports betting online sites, players are guaranteed to win something at the conclusion of the game. Super Bowl winners actually get paid cash for winning the game. Baltimore Ravens players earned $88,000 apiece for taking down the game against the 49ers, who each earned $42,000 for coming in second. And they’ll probably have to settle for Universal Studios or something less magical.
Make money—without playing

Sports betting boxing fans finally get the Mayweather fight they deserve
Sports bettors who love a good fight have been pining to see one thing and one thing only. We’re talking, of course, about an epic fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. That’s been the consensus ever since Floyd Mayweather knocked out Robert Guerrero pretty much effortlessly.
It was one of the most unmemorable fights in Mayweather’s career. And it left tons of sports betting online fans in the stands at the MGM Grand Garden Arena booing near the end of the fight. Mayweather, who describes himself as an Ultimate Entertainer, didn’t provide much entertainment at all. Sure, he won the fight, but his defensive style of play meant that fans would have rather spent the time watching the Bellagio fountains without the sound than this so-called performance. Mayweather, as sports book bettors know, has a history of handpicking his opponents to up his chances of winning. He has a 44-0 record, but a good chunk of that record is against guys who Mayweather can easily dominate. Prior to the Guerrero fight, Mayweather faced guys like Miguel Cotto, Victor Ortiz, Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Ricky Hatton. Most sports betting online members would be knocked out first punch by these powerhouses, but Mayweather takes them down effortlessly. And that’s led to some boring matches and many questioning whether his 44-0 record is all that impressive. But on September 14th, 2013, Mayweather will finally attempt to silence his critics once and for all. Unfortuantely, he’s not fighting Pacquiao. But he is stepping into the ring to face off against someone with an unreal record. Rather than tell you who, we’ll let Mayweather’s tweet tell you everything. “I chose my opponent for September 14th and it’s Canelo Alvarez. I’m giving the fans what they want.”
Alvarez isn’t Pacquiao, but he’s got the boxing world and sports betting online professionals pretty excited. Alvarez hits the ring with an unbeaten record. Except for a draw against Jorge Juarez in 2006, Alvarez is undefeated with a 42-0-1 record.
Needless to say, this should be one fight worth watching. The event gets underway at the MGM Grand on September 14th. We’re hoping it’s way more entertaining than Mayweather’s last fight. If not, at least Vegas has some decent Cirque shows—and of course the Bellagio fountains.
Top Three MLB Betting Power Rankings
Once a week, followers of odds on MLB lines look for news reports on MLB power rankings. It’s nice to see who’s on top, but when you bet baseball, you’re not always concerned with betting on the best team with the best record. You want to bet smartly. Sometimes, that includes betting on teams who don’t necessarily sit at the top of the power rankings.
So rather than storm through a play-by-play of this week’s power rankings, we thought it would be smarter to pick out our favorite teams that are worth betting on at sports betting online sites—or at least watching how they perform this week. Yes, we’ve included a top team in our list, but most of our picks might be a bit unexpected, so read on.
1- St. Louis Cardinals
If the World Series were held today, these guys would crush it—possibly in four games. Consider their 34-17 record. You don’t have to check the mobile sportsbook odds to know that no other MLB team comes close. Even the AL-leading Boston Red Sox are behind with a 31-21 record.
And the Cardinals’ road record is equally impressive. They’re 20-9 away from home, once again owning the league’s best record. On top of that, they haven’t lost a series since April. It’s almost June. Not bad.
2- Oakland Athletics
We know. They’re second in the AL West, so you probably expected us to talk about the Rangers here instead. But hear us out. The Athletics have a 5-game win streak under their belt. That’s pushed them up this week’s rankings by five. They’ve also secured victories in 10 of their last 11 games. That’s pushed them seven games above .500 for the first time in over a month.
3- Toronto Blue Jays (we’re serious)
The Toronto Blue Jays are worth watching. Yes, Jays fans and sports betting online enthusiasts hoping to make money of the likes of R.A. Dickey are pissed with this season, especially after the excitement that came with signing major league powerhouses, ultimately recreating the 1992 and 1993 seasons when Toronto won back-to-back World Series.
But Toronto has gotten off to a slow start, with a pretty horrible 22-30 record. And yes, the Jays rank 20th out of 30 MLB teams, not to mention last in the AL East.
Still, they’re managing to move up the rankings and impress MLB lines followers in the process. They’re up about 5th place overall from last week when you take into account both NL and AL. That’s largely in part to Edwin Encarnacion, who has four HRs and 19 RBIs over his last 14 matchups, not to mention a .353 batting average. And Jose Bautista has gone 17 for 33 with two HRs and six RBIs over his last seven outings. Not horrible. These guys could climb the rankings pretty quickly.
Bet on these teams Ready to bet? Sports Betting Online hands you 10% cash back no matter who wins. It’s good on all MLB bets, all season long. And creating your account takes just a few seconds, so check out the MLB odds and get your picks in.
Poker, Without the Competition: Your Guide to Let it Ride
Love playing Texas hold’em? Or any variation of poker? Then Let it Ride is going to blow your mind.
Before we get into how it works, let’s go through a quick poker refresher. Whether you play poker at a site that offers online casino games or in a live casino, whether you play in a weekly neighborhood tournament series or with some buddies in your basement, the game is always the same.
Your goal is to make the best 5-card hand using your two hole cards and the five community cards on the table. You need to bet smart so that you don’t get bluffed out by other players or tricked into betting more for a weak hand. This is the case no matter who you’re playing against.
Now let’s talk about Let it Ride. It’s a lot like those home games you might play with your friends. Except instead of playing against other players, you’re playing against yourself.
Notice how we didn’t say “playing against the dealer” here? Unlike other online casino games like Blackjack, Let it Ride takes the dealer out of the equation. He doesn’t have any cards. Just you. Sure, other players might be seated at the same table as you, but you’re not playing against them. You’ll have hole cards. And the table will have community cards. But instead of two hole cards and five community cards, it’s three hole cards and two community cards. And—we can’t stretch this enough—you’re not playing against anyone.
Your goal is to get at least a pair of tens. If you do, you’ll win. And as your hand ranks higher on the poker hand ranking system, you’ll get paid out even more money.
But here’s the thing. Instead of placing just one bet at the Let it Ride table, you actually need to place three bets. So for a $5 bet, you’re actually betting $15—three $5 bets, one in each betting circle.
You’ll then get three cards, face up. Two more cards are displayed face down. If you’ve got a pair of tens or something better, you’re a guaranteed winner. You’ll definitely want to let your money ride.
But if you’re not so confident that you’ll win knowing only three of the five cards, you can take one of your bets back. At that point, no matter what you decide, the fourth card is revealed. Again, you can let it all ride, or you can take another $5 back.
After call five cards are displayed, you’ll get paid out for every bet that remains on the table. And each bet will receive the same payout. In Let it Ride, payouts can climb to as much as 1000:1. Remember, a pair of cards will get you a 1:1 payout, but better hands like three-of-a-kind or a straight will net you even more money.
Let it Ride is one of the best online casino games you can play if you’re into poker. But it’s often an overlooked game, primary because it doesn’t have the word poker in the name.
You can find Let it Ride at sports betting online and online casinos all over the Internet. You can even play at your Mobile Sportsbook. Before you make a deposit at just any online casino, make sure they’ll let you create a free account and test out the game for free first. Then have fun and let it ride!
Get to Know Your Spanish Blackjack Before you Join Your Online Casino
As you well know Blackjack is a big favorite among Brick & Mortar and online casino games players and that’s for good reason.  Actually, it is 10 good reasons. We’re talking, of course, about the number 10 and how it significantly changes the game.
There’s nothing like being dealt an Ace for your first card, knowing that you’ve got 128 cards valued at 10 in a fresh 8-deck shoe working in your favor (remember, there are 16 cards valued at 10 in a deck of cards, including four tens, four Jacks, four Queens, and four Kings).
And there’s nothing like seeing the dealer sit with a bust card like a 6, knowing that there’s a good chance he’ll smack himself with a 10, Jack, Queen, or King. That makes every online casino betting fans pretty happy.
But what happens when you remove all the tens from the shoe? Welcome to Spanish Blackjack, also known as Spanish 21.
The main difference in Spanish 21 is that it takes the regular Blackjack game and removes all the tens from play. You’ve still got Jacks, Queens, and Kings to look forward to, but all the 10 cards (10 of diamonds, 10 of clubs, 10 of hearts, and 10 of spades) are out. In essence, Spanish Blackjack uses a 48-card deck and throws six of them into a shoe. With Spanish 21, the house has a bigger edge than in regular Blackjack. So what’s the point of playing the game in Vegas or at real money online casino if the house is more likely to hit what they need to win?
Well, with Spanish Blackjack, it’s all about the payouts. Because of the larger house edge, Spanish 21 comes with far more lucrative payouts:
• If you’ve got 21, you win—that’s true even if the dealer has 21 • Your Blackjack beats a dealer’s Blackjack • A 5-card hand that totals 21 pays 3:2 • A 6-card hand that totals 21 pays 2:1 • A hand of 21 with seven cards or more pays 3:1
• A 7-7-7 hand pays 3:2—or 2:1 if they’re the same suit and 3:1 if they’re all spades • A 6-7-8 of spades pays 2:1—and 3:1 if they’re all spades
Spanish 21 also comes with rules that favor the player, which you don’t find in regular Blackjack, including these ones:
• You’re allowed to split Aces, and then re-split them • You can hit on split Aces, and you can double down as well • You’re allowed to double after a split (not all US casinos let you do this) • You can double down on any number of cards
As you can see, Spanish 21 offers players tons of opportunity to make big gains based on what hand they have. Despite the higher house edge due to the absence of the tens, tons of players walk away from the Spanish Blackjack tables with big wins. If you are ready to play Spanish Blackjack online! Sports Betting Online has a free account you can sign up to. They offer a pretty nifty bonus of 10% cash back on all bets, win or lose. You can also play Spanish Blackjack in our Mobile Sportsbook with you Iphone, Android or Blackberry devices.
Personal Problems Mean Early Retirement for Baltimore Ravens Rolando McClain
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain has announced in a statement last Thursday his plans to an early retirement from playing football. He made his decision to help him get his personal life in order with the idea of "God willing," come back to the NFL again sometime.
The young 23 year old said in his statement -"Clearly, my decision to retire has raised some questions. Quite simply, I love football, but I have decided at this time it is in my best interest to focus on getting my personal life together".
"Beyond that, I'm not sure what the future holds for me, including football. This was entirely my decision and the Ravens have been very supportive during this process. I am very grateful for the opportunity they gave me and wish them the best of luck in the future. God willing, maybe I'll play for them one day."
McClain sign up for the Ravens in April with a contract worth $700,000, the move came after he was released by the Oakland Raiders, however just a few days after signing up with defending Super Bowl champion, McClain got himself arrested back in his home town Decatur, Alabama for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
He is now due to be in court in July 9 for the above charges. The young linebacker is not new to getting in trouble, in 2011 he was arrested for shooting another man right next to his head, he was convicted and sentenced to 180 days in jail, but prosecutors later dismissed the case.
Police arrested for a second time in January on charges of having his car windows tinted too dark and trying to lie about his identity. This time a city judge dismissed the January charge against him for trying to lie about his identity. He pleaded guilty to the window tint violation and paid a $182 fine.
In his final season, he was suspended for two games for conduct detrimental to the team. McCain had a record of 41 games with Oakland and had 274 tackles, 6½ sacks and one interception. Will we see an Original Six team in the Stanley Cup?
If you’re a hockey fan—an old-school hockey fan—there’s good reason to get excited about this year’s NHL playoffs. That’s especially true if you love placing modern-day mobile sportsbook bets on old-school hockey matchups.
No, it’s not an all-Canadian team playoff at the moment. And unless the Ottawa Senators manage to get through the Penguins in this round (we’re willing to bet Scotiabank Place against that happening), there won’t be a single hockey team from a Canadian city left in the playoffs.
But there’s still good reason to get excited about the current odds on NHL games and the schedule ahead Four of the Original Six hockey teams are still playoff contenders.
You’ve got the Chicago Blackhawks, the Detroit Redwings, the New York Rangers, and the Boston Bruins still vying to hoist Lord Stanley’s cup this June. The other two Original Six teams—the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs—got booted out of the playoffs by the Ottawa Senators and the Boston Bruins, respectively.
The way things are shaping up, we could very well see an Original Six Stanley Cup finals. If the winner of the Detroit vs. Chicago series crushes the winner of the Kings vs. Sharks series, and if the winner of the Boston and New York series takes down the winner of the Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa series, it’s a trip back to the glory days of hockey in the finals. But it’s not just about who’ll make it to the playoffs. For fans of Original Six hockey, it’s all about the moment right now. The Chicago vs. Detroit rivalry is shaping up to be epic. As the league’s top-seeded team and the winner of the President’s Trophy, they’re already giving Detroit a run for their money. The Hawks dominated in Game 1, netting three goals in the third period. Coupled with the first goal, they exited the game with a 4-1 victory and a huge ego boost heading into Game 2—not that they need it.
The Bruins vs. Rangers series also has Original Six sportsbook betting members on the edge of their seats. Boston escaped Game 1 with a 3-2 victory, scoring their final goal in OT.
But nothing compares to their previous game—a Game 7, winner-take-all, series deciding matchup against another Original Six rival, the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Bruins managed to overcome a 2-game deficit in the last 1:22 of regulation game time. The match went into OT and Boston trumped the Leafs 5-4. With that style of Bruins play, the rest of the series could be very promising for mobile sportsbook bettors who love to bet on hockey.

Is the NBA about to grant Seattle an NBA franchise?
Forget about the NBA championships and betting on NBA games. There’s a battle brewing in the NBA—and it has nothing to do with any of the contenders in the playoffs.
Actually, maybe it does. Once upon a time, the Oklahoma City Thunder were the Seattle SuperSonics. That was in 2008. And then they moved. Now, Seattle wants them back.
But don’t worry, OKC fans. The Thunder aren’t moving back. If you love to bet mobile from your smartphone while watching OKC try to advance in the playoffs, don’t worry. You’re safe. But the Sacramento Kings? They might pack up and leave if Steve Ballmer has anything to say about.
Yeah that’s right. Steve Ballmer, the CEO of Microsoft. He’s part of a group bidding for the Kings to move to Seattle. Ballmer is just part of it. The group is also led by Chris Hansen, a guy who obviously has some serious money (more money than even the most successful sports book enthusiasts). That’s pretty clear because the group is offering $625 million for majority ownership. If it goes through, they’d take ownership from the Maloof family, who currently own the Sacramento Kings.
But not so fast. The NBA doesn’t really want teams changing cities. Today, NBA commissioner David Stern and the Board of Governors are voting on whether to allow the team to move.
If they vote no, the Seattle group could still take a 20% ownership of the Kings. And that could actually lead to a majority stake down the line if Sacramento isn’t able to put together a new arena deal.
That’s basically what’s keeping the Kings hanging in the balance. They desperately need a new arena, and that’s complicating things even more.
If things weren’t complicated enough, Vivek Ranadive is also vying for 65% ownership of the Kings. He’s agreed to match the Seattle offer, and he wants to keep the Kings in Sacramento. If he can show that a new area will come to fruition and that he’s presented a viable alternative to the current owners of the Kings, the league will likely say no to a move.
This has the majority sports betting online enthusiasts shaking in anticipation, especially those who long for the days of an NBA franchise back in Seattle. So if you live in coffee chain country, you might want to get your Seattle SuperSonics jerseys out of storage. It could be game time very, very soon.
