Why are YOU playing romance games when YOU have him instead? Is he not good enough for YOU? Does he need to do more for YOU?

Some part of him might acknowledge that it's a little irrational, but he doesn't like sharing YOUr attention, and he can't kill a fictional character (at least not permanently). He'd be pretty broody and pouty about it at the least.

A neck vein would pop.

Saffron would either narrow his eyes, tutting and commenting on how rude YOU were being before turning to walk away, or sigh and focus on something other than YOU trying to prod at him, depending on how annoying YOU are about it.

Ethan can attest: Saffron doesn't take "jokes" well.

Adam would dislike it: he hates the smell of cigarettes.

Cain would smoke with YOU and find any excuses to get some alone time with YOU away from Adam/the rest of the band.

Would he if YOU didn't want him to? Depends on the situation. Financially and verbally abusive parents can be threatened and cut off; physically abusive ones test his restraint levels. If they hurt YOU in front of him, violence can and will happen.

What if Adam learnt that Flowey is Asriel? Would he make the same choice?

I was going to originally ramble about Adam and how he would react to Toriel and her family's situation in the first Undertale ask, but thought better of it and cut it short.

Since you asked:

It would give him some genuine pause due to MANY similarities between him and Asriel (ie- the sweet boy turned into a monster once his capabilities for love and compassion were stripped from him).

In terms of Adam playing the game (as opposed to au talk lol), he doesn't have much gaming experience, so he wouldn't think twice about the fight and mercy mechanics. It wouldn't be until a reset- say, maybe he didn't buy from the Spider Bake Sale, and YOU have him reset so he could manage the Muffet fight- that he would see the consequences of his actions and rethink how he plays the game, not necessarily out of guilt but curiosity.

I think he would enjoy it if it was something YOU were into, and for the story, once he really gets into it. I see YOU more so playing the game while Adam watched, especially if YOU wanted to show him just how hard it is to do the full pacifist run. (ngl I even had a hard time trying to not kill Flowey due to sheer rage in that final fight .w.) It's a little hard to say who his favorite character would be, considering both main and minor characters, but Toriel would hit a soft spot. I also think he'd like Undyne in that "I can acknowledge a decent fighter" sorta way. Sans might be in the running for least favorite character due to how much he would remind him of Ethan, and his Adam-senses would pick up on Sans's tailing the player and generally suspicious character, but I'm not sure if that would change after watching the Genocide route and realizing that he's one of the hardest fights in the game and due to them having similar convictions. I'd also want to say Asgore for the opposite reasons of why he'd like Toriel. Alphys... while he wouldn't hate her per se, I do see him going "ugh, another Cain."
