Part 3, the final installment of my conversationn with Throwing Muses drummer, electronica artist (Lakuna), and designer (Lakuna Deisgn) is finally available wherever you listen to podcasts. I took some time off since the last episode. Been focusing on work projects and catching up on things around the house. So between that, the little ones, minor health related hiccups, it was better I step away just for a short bit. But, I’m back with ep 5. We last left things with Bernard Georges joining Throwing Muses and the recording of their live album, The Curse. In this episode we cover the recordings of University, Limbo & Throwing Muses’ reunion album, Kristin’s creative process, album art, Dave’s solo project, Lakuna (which is also the namesake of his and his wife’s design company), the genesis of Lakuna Design, Jane’s Addiction, Tricky, Massive Attack, Dave’s future involvelment with Throwing Muses, and a whole lot more. No video this time because Riverside wouldn’t let me export a full edit of the video. Perhaps it’s time to get back to Zoom or try Adobe Podcast going forward. @thekristinhersharchives Streaming links: https://campsite.bio/tbws

Once you have control of your instrument, you can do whatever you want. Just remember the difference between the words 'play' and 'hit'. When it comes to percussion instruments, you don't hit the drum; you play it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I feel like it’s been a month since the last episode. A virus hit our entire household so we had to lay low for a bit. But, I’m finally back with a great guest. In this latest installments of The Basements Were Stars, I had the pleasure of chatting with of my all time favorite drummers, designers, and artists. He is founding member of influential Rhode Island indie rock band, Throwing Muses. He is of course, Dave Narcizo. We get into growing up in Newport, the formation of Throwing Muses, signing to 4AD, the Boston scene, the late great, Gary Smith, and much much more. Part 2 coming very soon!

The first episode of my new podcast, The Basements Were Stars is finally out. I had a great time chatting with Vram and Tarra Thiessen Kherlopian of the bands, Gustaf, Tea Eater, MamajoeVramajoe, and The Big Drops. We talk about their musical upbringings, influential bands, classic Brooklyn & New Jersey venues, their favorite @deathbyaudio pedals, Gustaf’s/Sharkmuffin’s/Tea Eater’s musical family trees, and I even have my Purposcope read.
