The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 episode 7-9
Man those episodes have me emotional especially the last one.
Episode 7 being a semi horror, haunted house type of episode is definitely a breath of fresh air for this show. Seeing more about Delilah and Sylas Briarwood after his vampirism and how it wasn't perfect and the parallels between Keyleth and Delilah was interesting. Seeing Laudna from Bells Hells campaign 3 was a lot of fun, fun scary. Vax seeing a what if between him and Keyleth was so sad, especially seeing a family they could possibly have if he wasn't having his blight curse.
Episode 8, finally the return of Scanlan and Kaylee. It's fun seeing the group fully together for this episode. Scanlan having a dadbod just makes sense after his time away just being a bard. Of course also seeing Scanlan and Tary interact who no longer share a voice is great. Of course Scanlan's insecurities and the mission of Vox Machina get a conflict and we get a version of the Lament. I liked this change cause of the context of this show it puts more emphasis and reminds people that the reason it happens in the first place was cause Scanlan was insecure of his place with his friends on how he hides behind humor to not show his real self, of course Vox Machina loves him, they care about him a lot. I'm glad it ended better but also it makes sense that Scanlan didn't return to the group. Also Battle of the Bands was great
Episode 9, was incredibly tragic. We get science bros and the fight at the temple with a different orb which we now know is a portal to where the Whispered One is. Seeing Pike slowly lose herself after Wilhand while Grog tries to get her to open up is sad as Pike is letting vengeance guide her. Obvious worries around for Vax and his slowly degenerating body. The horror of seeing Grog disappear, Pike's oldest and long lasting friend is definitely the last straw for Pike as she enters the portal alone. I wonder now if Pike is in a vulnerable position to willingly follow the Whispered One if Grog is not there with her.
To wait one more week after this set of episodes is killer, one more week and I just know that we are going to get a major cliffhanger for the season finale.
