The structure is a contemporary, experimental interpretation of Ireland's traditional communal "rambling houses"—historic village gathering spaces open to passers-by for storytelling, music, and poetry.

Most of the fieldstone used in the pavilion was quarried directly from the surrounding site and old farmsteads at Fartha. Harder regional limestone was brought in specifically for structural accents like the quoins and lintels.

A team of 15 professional stonemasons assembled the pavilion entirely by hand without structural mortar. They utilized a thousand-year-old corbelling technique, meticulously layering the stones inward until the roof met and completely closed over the chamber.

A breathtaking masterpiece of organic modernism designed and hand-built by architect and artist Nancy Copley.

Located on a 50-acre forested plot in Accord, New York (at the foothills of the Catskills), this geometric residence is famous for being a 37-year-long labor of love.

Nancy Copley purchased the site and conceived the design in 1972, spending decades personally physically executing its construction.
