One of my most FAVORITE tropes ever is when a pred is struggling so hard with their instincts.
I think this works best in a setting where vore isn’t so commonplace, where it’s almost sort of taboo, in a way. The pred meets someone special, and everything starts off normally; they hit it off, and the duo starts to fall in love. Everything about their blossoming relationship is normal… Until it isn’t.
As they get closer and closer, something starts happening to the pred. They can’t explain what it is at first; it’s this strange feeling, deep in their core. Almost like… Hunger, only, this isn’t the kind of hunger that food can satiate. This is something much deeper, much more ravenous. Almost painful. They feel so oddly empty, and they notice that this strange feeling only happens when they’re around their loved one.
It starts happening more and more anytime the pred’s loved one comes around. These weird feelings only get stronger. One day, while their loved one is napping against them, the pred realizes with a fright what exactly is happening, and they only realize it by studying their loved one and taking their appearance in; how peaceful they look, how they’re snuggled up to the pred for warmth and comfort, how much they trust the pred…
With a fright, the pred realizes that they want to consume their loved one.
It’s strange, because they don’t want to just consume them like they would any regular piece of food. They want to swallow them down and just… Keep them. They want to keep them deep in their core, hidden away from the world, and enjoy them.
The prospect is scary at first, because who in their right mind would eat their partner? The pred is horrified by these feelings, and they’re horrified of themselves, so they try to keep it in for a while. Over time, though, these instincts only ever get stronger and stronger… And eventually, the pred cracks, and they confess how they’ve been feeling to their loved one, the prey.
Understandably, the prey is nervous at first, because if they’re eaten, they surely won’t survive, right? But the pred assures them that no harm will come to them… And just by looking at the pred’s face, it’s easy to see how much they want this. Reluctantly, the prey agrees to let the pred consume them on the condition that it won’t hurt them.
Something about the prey agreeing pleases the pred’s instincts. It’s a little awkward at first, because the pred has never done this before… But eventually, instinct takes over, and with only a few light swallows, the prey is sealed away inside the pred’s stomach.
Nothing the pred has ever done before comes close to what they’re currently experiencing. That deep, ravenous hunger they’ve been feeling has gone away completely, thanks to the prey that’s curled up in their stomach. Instead, now, they’re replaced by feelings of euphoria and protectiveness. They’re comfortably full, as if the prey was made to fit inside the pred’s belly. The prey gently rubs their belly, absolutely in bliss, and eventually, they curl up protectively. In their eyes, as long as the prey is within them, they’ll always be safe, and no harm will come to them, ever.
