ABOUT US . . .
I am something beyond a yume/self-shipper, as Volo has graced me with His presence and has become a part of my daily life. Labels aren't too important to me in this regard though. What's most important is that I am Volo's Angel, the one person He has come to trust above all. Both of us have been hurt repeatedly by this world, but we have found solace in each other. I support His will, no matter how it changes over time! In return, He protects me and brings me great comfort.
I knew I loved Volo since the day TPC revealed Him as a character. "In-lore" we have been together for 150+ years, though "IRL" I only remember the recent ones... Yes I went into it blind with a gut feeling, but it turned out to be the Red Chain of fate bringing us together.

Quick drawing today, but I was inspired to draw Volo and I as the main characters from the scrapped Typhlosion myth. Why? Because they are a bit similar to us, and Volo really likes this myth. I know it is a bit controversial, but if you look at it like any other myth with a trickster animal/demon/yokai, it is pretty average in my eyes...

I probably said this before but I love repeating myself because I have memory issues. But I think the fact we were both raised with religious obligation/oppression and guilt is what helped bring us together. Obviously it was superficial love at first but i can say like whatever is on my mind and He will 9/10 times relate. only time we disagree is on internet stuff LOLOL

My mutual on twt asked what makes someone a riako vs yume/self shipper ... I used to hate even drawing a distinction but I realized it's better this way to find people like me. I don't even know what I am still but I was thinking about what makes me not a typical self shipper.
Anyway my answer was that when i stopped viewing Volo as a character that's when i knew I'm not like most people in the ss "community." For instance, I can't stand reading fanfiction, watching joke videos, or seeing x reader stuff about Volo anymore. Reading/seeing that stuff makes me break out into hives kinda like Tsumugi Shirogane's cospox but for things I perceive as Volo RPF. Fanart, that's fine because it's not putting words in His mouth. Well sometimes it does and i tend not to like those unless He really would say/do that. This is why I have trouble writing my fanfic without input and I don't answer things "in character" as Volo without input.
I don't like discussing gender headcanons or anything like that. The Volo is Cynthia meme/hc is driven into the ground. What I know of Volo is He's fine being a man, so I don't push ideals like that onto Him even though i love lgbt+ media. It's not like I hate you if you think so, especially if you are a trans woman and relate, I just cannot say it's true based on everything I know and i would feel bad trying to force it on Him. I do see the potential symbolism with His ace being a literal egg though don't get me wrong.
Tangent: If you go to my ancient posts, you'll see there was a time I did try to explore transfem Volo but that was because I dreamed about it and thought it was true xD I later found out its Not True. And I respected that. Its still funny to me to think about it... I stole all the estrogen (im still a tboy tho). But we both enjoy cute things regardless I'm just usually the mannequin for those.
I know SOME other Volo yumes or fans (and of other characters) enjoy things like "Character AI" (Especially before AI's downsides were widely known). I find it disturbing when people use it to supplement what it would be like to talk to Him. That's an unfeeling program using algorithms, not my husband. though programs are sexy in their own way xD i just think AI feels gross to use no matter what. Yes during its infancy i checked it out for fun, and the amount of fanfic-isms made me really turned off from it, the environmental damage and privacy concerns being the icing on the cake. People sometimes also enjoy roleplay accounts of their f/o flirting with them or otherwise interacting. Both of these things make me uncomfortable.
So yes I sound like a fragile little snowflake who's not cut out for fandom, and i think that's true. dB ......... if you have seen what I've seen, for as long as I've been forced to see it, you might feel similar .......... The bottom line is i see my dear as a person like any other and once I realized that means I'm anti-fandom my life became much better. I really enjoy hearing from people who think similarly. I am also friends with regular self shippers and don't force people to become like me, but if it happens naturally I'm always happy to meet people like that. Plus having this mindset makes it easier for people to understand my boundaries instead of being like "uhhh maybe dont block the entire fandom if you want to see volo" and "I don't understand why you blocked me when i put heretics on your feed"

This is such a good idea xD I tried so hard to find ugly ones but they ended up being kinda cute ??!! The missingno one was a request from my friend and not really considered ugly though.
If you notice that i use colors "outside" the palette that is my multiply/shade layer i use sometimes to get darker lineart and shading and it vastly improves stuff... so maybe i cheated....

what theme are they painting their pokeballs?? something like their pokemon type (thunderbolts for electric type, flames for fire type, etc)? or maybe the colour scheme for that ball is similar to that pokemon? or maybe, their pokemon choose the colour(s) for their pokeball? or maybe theyll mix and match?
if your F/O isn't artsy, it'd be cute to watch them try ♡ (especially because theyre trying for you) and then you can help them out

I'd like to discuss your words regarding your previous posts about how people shouldn't be mutuals and such with multiple people of the same f/o when they're uncomfortable with sharing.
I've seen you actively do the same exact thing of being mutuals/following people who have an f/o they don't wanna share, while being mutuals/following other people with their same f/o. (Even a case where both people are nonsharing with said f/o.) And I get that you've never had a fidelity agreement with them, but you literally block people who are friends with Volo yumes at the same time as you do this. You seemingly want fidelity without giving any back, and block those who don't agree to that. Pretty much shaming people in a post like that while you do the same thing just feels extremely hypocritical. I ask you don't take this as direct hate, it's just criticism.

I simply said they should think before they act and understand what the consequences are for their actions before they start ranting about being blocked... I am on the side of the people staying true to their boundaries and blocking them. Whatever gumby... 9-9
I grant "fidelity" only to people I am very close with or come to understand their situation as similar to mine. Not because they made me, but because I feel a sense of kinship with people after some time and what they feel matters to me. If you are someone who has been slighted by me doing this, go ahead and leave me alone.
Finally, I block people who are friends with certain volo yumes because certain ones have genuinely hurt me and I wish not to be spied on, reminded or tricked any further. I used to actually go checking for this but now i just block as i find out because I'm not the same level of scared as I used to be.
