Japanese designer Masashi Murakami pushes the boundaries of paper bringing characters and shapes to life. Distortion in the digital to physical realm opens up possibilities of how we communicate ideas in the product design and graphic design intersect.

Patricia Urquiola’s product designs rarely disappoint. She is tapped into something beyond the material, beyond creature comforts, beyond the familiar that ends up looking like something you’ve always known, needed or felt related to. I’ve been following her industrial designs and approach to the architectural realm since my college days and I am amazed at her ability to keep a renewed sense of wonder and curiousity in all of her works.

Undercover Poster Designs by YVO SPREY. I love that these poster designs remind me of those hinged paper puppets that suspend from string and become a 3d mobile. A pleasant reminder to push a 2d environment to a 3d environment and challenge the eye to move not “just for” capturing information but to move “because of” that information.
