Friendly reminder that all of the character interpretations you see on tumblr from all these fandoms (Loki, the Doctor, Thorin, Odin, etc etc etc) are nothing more than opinions. There is a HUGE area for interpretation, and everyone’s going to have a different understanding and insight into that character.
If you RP that character, it’s not your job to listen to people who are telling you that you are DOING IT WRONG. This doesn’t mean you should ignore constructive criticism—it means that your interpretation can be utterly different than someone else’s and that’s ok. It’s all OPINION in the end, and much of the time these opinions are based on differing personal experience and education, among other things.
If you don’t like the way someone else plays a character, there is a very simple answer—stop following them. Don’t play with them. If you hate the way everyone plays a character, play him/her yourself. Bring your own vision to life and stop hammering on other people for the way they do it.
Tumblr and characters and RP are supposed to be fun. We’re here to have fun. Sure, there are feels and pain and agony and tears along the way, but this is a hobby and if your hobby includes policing other people, you might want to take a step back.
Also, if you send hate to gender-bent versions of characters, you are total scum and you deserve to have a box of shit physically delivered to your front door.
