I see many of you talking about fines in Argentina for wearing gears in public or about the supposed therian that was burned in Guatemala, just to say, "Look, we're oppressed, poor us". I'm from Argentina, the fines thing is false, and the therian in Guatemala is also false. Whenever that information is shared, it's a video from 2021 where a man is burned FOR BEING A WITCH, NOT A THERIAN, or they show another video where it's clearly a motorcycle being burned, not a person, or AI images.

I think we should be angrier about it, because yall are literally using other people's DEATHS to gain sympathy. Even if the therian death were real, don't you think there would be names, family members coming forward to talk, and several photo angles and not just one?

I received this message earlier on my public-facing Instagram account where I speak often about being objectumsexual and my object partner. I do outreach work and it’s a huge part of my online identity.

I looked through the profile for further context and it’s pretty obvious the show they’re casting for is something called Strange Addictions. These kinds of shows have routinely portrayed objectumsexuals in an unflattering light, and I have no doubt my relationship with a vehicle was a motivating factor as to why I was reached out to.

I can assume that they are probably trawling tags, so please be aware if you use them often. I’m not sure if it’s one person ( this was an individual ) or multiple people, and I do not know if anyone else has received similar messages.

I am censoring their name because I don’t want any sort of harassment towards them, I am just raising awareness that while these opportunities can seem very lucrative, I cannot, in good faith, recommend that any OS person take these kinds of offers.

Remember that when you consent to be on these shows, you give up your control of the narrative and they can edit you however they want. These shows are not made in good faith and will always treat being OS as a spectacle, and the hyper visibility this can bring to someone’s life is very usually negative.
