“I’m brushing your hair, it’s a mess.”

“You happened to go get lunch and ‘bought too much’ huh?”

“I’m late, yes. You should be used to that by now.”

“How long as it been that we’ve known each other? Feels like ages.”

“There was something on your face, I had to get it off.”

“I think it’s hilarious people assume they’re dating just because they’re nice to each other.”

Hitoshi’s adventures in babysitting.

He’d never really had to deal with kids before. All the younger fosters he’d ended up sharing a home with had been too scared of him to stay in the same room for too long and now suddenly he was a soft-of official big brother? 

Yeah, he had no idea how to handle this. Couldn’t they have just taken Eri with them instead of leaving an out-of-his-depth Hitoshi to deal with her?

Well, that sounded a bit mean. He loved her to bits already, but he just….wasn’t good with small children. 

Fortunately, when she knew it was someone familiar, she calmed down slightly, but a bit of guilt appeared in her chest instead.

He frowned a little. “That’s....I don't mean it like that. I’m just not great with younger kids” He admitted, deciding to just be honest with her. Sure, Eri was little, but she was wiser then people gave her credit for. 

“Little kids used to be scared of me, so I never got the chance to be a big brother. We can do whatever you want, kay?” He softened his expression, smiling at her. 

It was obvious she was trying hard not to be a nuisance, something that twinged at bitter nostalgia for some of his own past. He was determined not to make her feel that way.
