Sirius always wondered what his future would look like. He already knew what he wanted for himself, and he knew his life wouldn’t be the one his mother wanted for him.

The Marauders along with a few fellow Gryffindors, followed a ritual and drank a potion that let them glimpse the future. When Sirius took it and fell asleep, he woke to find himself standing outside a cottage, staring through the window as an older Snape cradled a baby.

Snape recognized him, rolled his eyes, muttered something insulting, and let him inside which was strange and completely out of character in Sirius’s mind. He noticed the ring on the older man’s finger, saw the domesticity James had always wanted for himself with Lily.

Sirius was disoriented and started hurling insults at Snape, saying he didn’t deserve this future because he was a Death Eater or so Sirius assumed in his own time. He even accused him of stealing Lily from James. And Snape had the nerve to laugh and tease him for it.

“I’ve forgotten how much of a blundering buffoon you are, Sirius.” It wasn’t even an insult w/ how oddly fond Snape said his name. Sirius felt himself flush because Snape was older! Had grown into himself, more confident and assured. Sirius had to admit the man had a softer edge.

Hours were spent with Sirius explaining his time-travel dilemma to Snape. He asked about the others and Snape answered. Snape seemed a little too familiar w/ the situation, and Sirius finally asked how he knew he was coming, then the realization came—

Sirius thought he was seeing Snape’s future instead of his own. That maybe Snape married Lily, not James. But the longer he stayed in the house, the more it felt like it was his. Like this future belonged to him esp when he saw the baby with those obvious Black features.

Sirius felt like he couldn’t breathe because how could this be his future? Sirius asked if they were married and how they ended up together which Snape refused to answer, and they ended up arguing because at the end of the day, Sirius knew what ticked Sn—Severus off—

And Sirius had to push his wife against the wall and kissed him. His wife kissed him back just as fiercely.

He was led to their bedroom, their clothes shed hastily. Sirius craved being inside his wife (being home) so much that he didn’t even realize he was begging as he thrust.

Severus shushed his pleas, whispering soft endearments. “You won’t hurt me, Siri... I can take it... Let your wife take care of you... It’s alright, Sirius.”

And they made love with all the emotions Sirius never thought he was capable of, that his mother stripped him of.

But then he felt obsessed and crazed enough to bite and bruise. Severus was proud of him then. Kept telling him there was a reason he was his, and not anyone else. That they were made for each other.

Only Severus could handle the madness in him.

Then just as Sirius was about to fill his wife’s womb again, he caught sight of his future self leaning against the door with a smug little smirk, watching his youngself abuse and fuck his wife stupid.
