*as Lucita was about to continue the talks of magic a series of mumblings and odd chatter to Ann’s ears could be heard coming from the back, as a small beautiful hue of teal came from the door way leading to back flew out and toward Lucita.

From what an could see was a teal featureless humanoid with dragonfly wings and pink crystal’s sticking out of its back. despite its language sounding like complete non-sense Lucita could clearly understand what it was saying and Lucita just had an annoyed look as if she was told some bad news before looking back to ann*

"Oh, you mean like... trying something over and over again, even if it didn't work the first time? I mean... It's subtle. You can try to do the same goal over and over again, but it's not insanity if you try different ways of doing it...."

"Okay, well... You could have announced your presence better." The little sorceress wipes the fish slime off on her skirt. "If you had, I wouldn't have lost my grip, even with it flailing about. Uh. I can offer you half of it, if you want, as like... an apology? Food makes good apologies, right?" She picks up the fallen fish, this time making sure to hook her fingers in the gills to keep a hold on it.

Ann blinked, and looked back at him. "...Do most young ladies go fishing by themselves, or carry pockets full of mushrooms?" She pulled a morel from a pouch on her belt. "I'm sort of... used to this. Outdoors stuff. Grew up in a little cabin that was a ways away from the nearest town. I'd feel more out of place in a city, than I do out here."

Ann hyperventilated around the corner of one of the stone walls that still stood, kneeling in an attempt to make herself more hidden. The problem with traveling alone, was that no matter how much magic Ann had, she was still susceptible to being caught off guard. Her joints ached where blades had bit into her flesh, the bottom of her boots still tracked blood, her hands felt tacky and she could see where the drying blood on her palms began to crack. Had she gotten all her attackers? Was she safe? The day was growing dimmer with each passing minute. Soon, all would be dark, and if there were any of her would-be assailants left, Ann would be left not only frightened, but mostly blind as well- easy to pick out in the low light. Her fingertips touched the cold marble slabs beneath her, as she peeked around the corner, looking and listening.

"You learn to eat fast first, and then slow, when you're not sure when your next meal is gonna be." Ann admitted- not reacting to the joke quite as Selena may have expected. "A few years is still... good. I can learn how to be with people, maybe gain some skills besides mushrooming and digging up roots. But... I can do that. S'good for getting food stocks. I can dry herbs too, and find them. I..." She paused, and then breathed. "I never got to live in a village before. I wanna learn how to do that."

Ann has a bowl of chowder. She is eating her bowl of chowder. She looks like she's slowly going insane, maybe because she is.

"I've spent my whole life learning to move quiet, trying to step loud isn't easy now." Really, he wasn't even sure if he could make his footsteps louder, but there was no reason to get into that now.

"Sure, I'll take a meal, haven't had one yet today. Got a fire started?"

"No, but I gathered some sticks earlier. Put 'em over there." She gestured with her chin to a small pile of wood beneath a nearby bush. "Need some actual logs to feed the fire, but got the kindling at least. Starting it won't be a problem for me." Ann lifted her hand, pointing one finger to the sky. A flame like a candle's light flickered into life at the end of it. "I have a few cantrips that are useful for such things."

Moving over towards the pile of sticks, Venix started arranging them into a rough bonfire. He turned his head as he heard something ignite behind him, seeing the young woman with a flame hovering just above her finger.

A magic user then. "Huh. Useful." He gestured for her to start the fire as he scooted back. "You want to work on the kindling I can prepare the fish, sound good?"

Ann knelt down by the fire, and used her knife to carve the side of one of the sticks into thin wooden curls. She poked it with her finger, until it started to smoke. Blowing on it a little, she fed more sticks into it, before using those sticks to transfer it to the main part of the campfire. "Now we need bigger stuff to feed it with." She turned her head and smiled at Venix. "My name's Ann by the way! Nice to meetcha."

Ann gravitated to the bread first. How long had it been since she had bread- real bread made with flour, flour ground from wheat? And there was some sort of dipping sauce to go with it... She tore pieces from the bread and tried the sauces- though, after eating the first few bites, she realized how hungry she actually was. She tore into the bread with her teeth, growling slightly when it wouldn't immediately give, eating fast, but not so fast that she'd choke. Only after the first loaf was done, did she slow down, tearing off more polite chunks, and swallowing them slow. "...Thank you... I know that... that for now I'm a guest, but I won't be forever, so I want to be useful."

It only took a few seconds. A few scarce seconds. A few scarce seconds, and a blinding screech for Ann to find her life rushing to a sudden stop-- To say she was lost would be a lie, for Ann had been wandering for a long time before she reached the outskirts of the city, to a place where dirt gave way to cobble, and then further, where the sidewalks began to be paved with large concrete slabs- where strange stalks sprouted from the ground instead of trees, with bulbs atop them that seemed always an inch from bloom. She'd never been to a city before- having always been a stranger even in the little farming village she had been born near. At some point, recently, it had rained, and she marveled at the way the cobblestones shone in the dying light of day, scattering the sun's vestiges like stars upon the uneven stones. Cold seeped into her fingertips. Not many other people seemed about. Due to the weather, she surmised. That made sense... but it was easier for her, thankfully. People were still terrifying, mostly because they tended to be terrified of her in return. She wasn't paying attention, though, when she decided to cross the street- mostly to avoid someone coming down the way that she was- but... why would she? Horses could be heard from a while away, and those were what roads were for, of course. Horses, carts, things like that... What came instead was much quicker than she'd anticipated. A monstrous noise, lights brighter than bonfires- a screeching yellow abomination that couldn't brake fast enough, sliding along the slick cobblestones- Ann didn't even have time to scream, only to throw up her arms in a weak sort of defense, before everything stopped.

Ann exhaled as he pressed back in- as if there weren't enough room inside of her for a full breath, and his length, at the same time. Around his kiss, around his tongue, she salivated, as if he were something delicious. Her hands tightened where they lay against his skin and in his hair. She didn't want him to pull away. Didn't want him to leave her. Didn't want this moment to end yet.

Ann made a sound like a hiccup, when Dio slowly hilted within her. She tried to breathe, but there was just so much of him- so much newness, that she could hardly keep a breath in her lungs. Better than getting kicked out of somewhere when she has nowhere else to go. I mean, if she didn't anchor to me, she'd... she'd be dead, right? Like everything else from her world..." “I know. There’s a new school of possession up and about. While maybe expulsion is an option there’s the inward spirit study. It lets you face whatever it is sharing your body directly, and lets others do so too.”

"...It. It doesn't feel like possession, though." Ann's posture shifts. She leans away from Ed, and draws her knees up to her chest- careful not to put her shoes on the couch, though. "It's me. She's me. Just a different me. She's not some foreign... whatever. She's not even trying to take control..."

She ran her hand through her hair- getting it caught in a tangle halfway. Immediately, she scowled at it, and worked on getting it untangled. "Honestly, the one who needs the therapy is... well. My other self. We're the same age. At least, we were when she died. I guess... she's technically still aging, because of the whole, being in my body thing- but, like... a few seconds younger from being in transit? Between worlds?" "...She had a party. Like a fantasy adventuring party. Dads who adopted her. One of them was- they were a goddamn eight foot tall devil. There was a fae who shared her bedroll every night, and knocked cups off of tables. People she owed her life to. Gods, she's... miserable." Ann clutched her heart. "She misses them so much. Feels guilty beyond... beyond anything."

“And if you were dealing with someone who didn’t work with both the global mystic police, and the regional mystic rights council, as well as an Aether forge and a magic college they’d likely call you crazy.” Ed said as he led Ann to the open living room. The windows looked over the open field with the Hudson far, far in the distance as a blue strip.

Ed motioned to a couch and sat down. He patted the spot next to him and let Ann sit there. “So, how does she come out…. Or in control or…. Whatever?” He asked. “And what happens when she’s…. Whatever you wanna call it? Out of the closet maybe?”

"Yeah. Probably." She snorted a laugh she didn't really feel the humor of. "Even I feel crazy with all of it... But it's so... real. So consistent. All her memories, just there, where I can reach them. Her personality? That's more... separate. I don't really know how it works yet. It's only been two weeks and most of that time she's been sleeping, crying, or screaming. Girlypop is no happy in the least." She practically threw herself on the couch beside him. "You'll probably be able to tell when she does take over. She doesn't... move like I do. She's more... sneaky, but also more... soldier like? Like she's used to having to move in a way that means she's not going to die, from something she hasn't seen yet. Aware. Really... aware."

"Oh, god that's weird." Ed looked at her. "Can you both control your body while awake? Or is it like... A fight or... Whatever? I don't know. All I have in me is literal fire, yours talks back." He said as he let her lean into him before gently stroking her hair for comfort. Edward was clearly practiced at letting people vent around him.

"Ed. I don't know yet." Ann sighed. "She hasn't really cared to be in control. Like I just said, she's just crying and stuff. Sometimes I wake up with a raw throat, though..."
