When Reg stepped in front of her the witch moved closer to her beau, reaching out to grab his hand before peaking over his shoulder. “I think it’s time for you to leave us alone”, Em said directing her words to the boy tormenting them. “You’re not going to get anything you want.”

“Patheeeetic.” Vale groaned with a roll of his eyes before telling them both to shut up. He turned away from the pair and began to walk away, but not before stopping one more time after Emily spoke. “I think it’s time for you not to talk to me, mudblood. And I will get something out of this; this isn’t going to be some stupid love story with a happy ending, we don’t get those.” He stated before leaving them in the common room.

“ end all of this ? what is all of this ? if you can’t remember we broke up already, I don’t need a reenactment.” she huffed and got up quickly, turning around just to pick up her bag. “and for your information you are always mental.” Glenda didn’t understand his out of the blue need for closure. for all she knew his words were just words and there was no meaning in them. “you just need to fix yourself. ” she said and made her way out of the courtyard. 

“That’s not what I’m looking for?” He stated more forcefully now that he had finally lose his patience. It was no that first time she had pushed him to that extent and before they would have both laughed it off and moved on from it by taking about something more mundane, but this time her words sounded bitter to him and they bothered him. ‘Fix myself?” Vale paced after her, reaching out for her arm before she left the courtyard. “I told you I wanted to be with you didn’t I? That I chose you?” His gaze was fixed on hers and he didn’t dare look away or let go in case he didn’t get the chance to get to her again. Out in the open it was easier for them to talk about their relationship than having to do so within the castle walls. “Just answer me, please. I need to know I didn’t imagine it.”  

“ it tells me that you might be getting betrothed to some girl and her bat.” he rolled his eyes and sighed. “you haven’t been looking but she has, I’m surprised you are not that interested in your favorite sibling and her doings. she got us expelled, father didn’t want her ruining our name more so he shipped us here to be with you, the prodigy. ” 

“Shut up.” Vale said, taking another swig at the drink. Just from the one taste he could sense that it was expensive and he wondered how he had managed to get his hand on it, but didn’t feel like asking. “Who says I’m not? the more I stay away from her the more I’ll keep her away from my problems. It’s called common sense, it’s also a sign that I don’t care much about you.” He told his brother with a grin, which fell after he explained what had happened. “What do you mean expelled? What the hell did she do?”

(¸.• ♛ → “Is not about that.” Is more about if someone thinks about something else and she needed to look up for her reputation, however, now in those case she just no, she shouldn’t care much because is not like she’s doing something wrong. “Okay, fine, let’s get going, then.” This time the blonde decided  to follow him.

“What is it about then?” He didn’t really want to know but if he was to play the new role of friend then he was supposed to care. “Sure,” he nodded and headed towards the boys dormitory is long strides, kicking the door open as he seldom closed all the way. “Welcome to where the magic does not happen,” he teased. taking a look around. “No Lucy here though.”

“Maybe.” She rolled her eyes. “There’s no fucking catch. But if that’s just how you are, might as well head on out.”

“That’s how am what?” Vale asked with raised brows. “I’m going to say something I’m probably not going to say again, I think you are right. I should head on out.” 

Damn it. The girl shrugged, her thumb stroking Dmitri between the ears. “This country is free no? I may sit where I please.”

“No, you are just trying to be a pain, but guess what? My citizen rights and my personality are worse.” 

“Probably. Then again your ideas and most people’s ideas never truly seem to see eye to eye.” She offered up. “Um…. I dunno. Although you going straight to love shows off your ego oh so well. Have you ever thought there wasn’t a catch?”

“And that’s why you find me so fascinating.” He replied with a grin. “My ego needs no boosting but I don’t intend on sitting here guessing what the catch is.” He shrugged and got up, dusting himself off. “So unless you actually tell me then I think I’ll just get going. I prefer straightforward people.”

“Endurance of some sort, but there’s some discipline to it that not many like, most people just want to get drunk.” she chuckled and shook her head batting the Bludger as far away as she could, “You are a good dancer, you were drunk and could keep a rhythm, but maybe next time we can try sober, see how you hold up. Ladies like when you know how to dance.” she added half joking, it didn’t matter if you could or couldn’t but some people consider it a plus, others just looked pass that and liked you for your personality.

Andromeda blushed and tried not the be the shiest person on earth, “Thank you, I’m trying my best but I’m not sure the family approves, or if I’m expected to work at all.” she shrugged not wanting to talk about the marriage, just looking at the oncoming bludger and focusing to hit it with all her might. “If it hits you I’ll heal you, I’ve been practicing, Madame Pomfrey says i’m getting better.”

“I don’t like getting drunk, I don’t even do it often. What you saw at the party was a rare occurrence... and if according to you I’m so good at it then fine. I’ll make sure to ask to dance some time.” A slight smile appeared on his features as he felt his anger disperse with every hit to the bludgers. He didn’t know what to make of her comment but he nodded in agreement, finding it now difficult to argue anything she was saying if she was saying them with chuckles. 

“I already told you how I feel about our parents dictating our lives... so if I were you I would go for it.” Surely his brother wouldn’t mind. Vale added that bit silently before hitting about bludger away. Why was it so difficult to not think about that? He shook away the thoughts of her married to his brother and faced her with a smile. “Should we give that a go?” 

“I didn’t see it coming, Vale. Nobody from my house seems to care that my family doesn’t have a long line of magic.” She shook her head. “I have magic. And I didn’t steal it or force it into being. I was born this way…just like you were.“ Her lips pursed together for a moment before she tilted up her chin in an almost defiant manner. “I’ll do what I please, Mulciber. I’ll go where I want and when but don’t worry, if I see you I won’t stop for a chat. We’ve got nothing to say to each other anymore, have we? No? Great.”

There were quite a few things he would have liked to say at that moment. Perhaps a better explanation, an insight into his twisted upbringing, maybe even an apology... but instead he shrugged, showing no remorse about what he had told her. As long as he was cruel and uninterested then no one would be on his case later. It was better to lose a friend than himself. “Yes, Macdonald. Great.” Vale replied and turned to make his way back to the castle. 

Tessa raised her steel colored eyes to the boy, her face void of emotion. This boy was one of those classmates. One who got pleasure out of making another uncomfortable. Still, the fifteen year old didn’t feel like losing her ground. Standing, the raven haired girl moved to where he was sitting, closing the distance between them without saying a word. Tess sat next to the boy, fairly close, in an attempt to get him to leave. He wanted her to bicker with him, spout insults or to get mad and leave him. So instead, she’d get closer. Something she hoped would catch him off guard.

An amused smile had creeped into his features when she first got up. He thought that perhaps he had done enough to get under her nerves, but he was proved wrong when all of the suddens he sat much too close for his own comfort. A sigh escaped him as he raised a brow, “is this your fantastic idea of getting me to shut up and leave?”

Dread began fulling Emily’s stomach as the boys continued their banter. “There’s nothing to tell”, she blurted out. “Nothing to announce, or anything, n-nothing happened.”

He rolled his eyes at Regulus, finding it rather annoying that he wasn’t getting much of a reaction from him. “Ah there you have it! Denial.” Vale mused, pointing his wand towards Emily  before putting it away in joy. “I think that should cover it for now. Enjoy dealing with the parents, they are a pain.” He said nonchalantly. “Just wait until everyone else finds out. You may not be bothered by what your parents may this or say, but school surely is a bitch.”

“Well he was rather lovely, makes sense you two don’t associate in the same circles.” She let out a sigh. “Do I need to remind you… or?”

"I think your and my idea of lovely are very different." He said with a slight shrug, wondering why she was still interested in keeping the conversation going. "What would be the point? Are you like in love with me or something?"

“That as well, or I can teach you to hold your liquor. I’ve been trying with Dorcas but she has a mind of her own.” she chuckled looking at the bludger near them, she couldn’t throw them far but she had good aim so when it came near her she tried hitting it harder. “Why wouldn’t I want to dance with you? I had fun, we can try you being sober next time.” she smiled at him and frowned when the bludger passed right next to him, believing that it actually hurt her friend.

“I’m just joking, I want to be a healer and do things on my own, I don’t want to…” she didn’t want kids, not if it meant that she would have to raise them with the same standards and policies she had been raised. She wanted her kids to be free to decide, besides there was always the fear that she might turn into the parental figure she hated and that was too strong to ease her worries about maternity. “I’m sorry, maybe bludgers and jokes aren’t a great combo.”

“I didn’t know that was something that could be taught.” He said with a half smile. “And because I’m not a good dancer?” Vale actually didn’t know whether he was a good dancer or not, he didn’t know how much of a fool he had made out of himself at the party, and Stefan’s video of it wasn’t enough to persuade him one way or another. Mostly because he didn’t dare watch it. “A healer, really? I think...” he glanced her way before returning his gaze to the oncoming bludger. “I think you’d be good at it.” Vale hit the bludger again, trying hard not to think about what she had mentioned before or his brother. “And not really, but don’t worry, I won’t hold it against you if one hits me and stop the misery.” He said with a smirk. 

“Yeah, I finally get it.” It pained her to know that their friendship was tossed aside because of something she couldn’t control. There was no apologizing for the blood that ran through her veins any more than she could apologize for the color of her eyes or the fact that she was left handed. Those things were a part of her. “Welcome to your world.” Mary scoffed. “I’m not welcome in it, though, am I?” She shot him a challenging look. “Enjoy your life, Mulciber. Maybe one day you’ll grow up and learn that a person’s value does not lie in blood status.”

“I told you to stay away, are you really going to act like this now?” He scoffed. “Don’t pretend you didn’t see it coming. All of this is part of me now, I can’t pretend otherwise. Maybe I will enjoy it, maybe I will regret it, whatever the outcome I hope you just stay away.”

“Well that’s a shame. I rather liked party Vale.” She shrugged. “Nope, that’s just my general disposition. I dunno… I just figured we kind of clicked so I was seeing if it would still be there without the party. Stupid, yes.”

“Can’t relate, I don’t know him.” He smiled and shrugged his shoulders before shaking his head. “I don’t remember any of that.”

Lucinda laughed. “Twat. You wouldn’t know the first thing about whether I was a slag or not. Lucky me. Wish I was a prefect, I’d get away with whatever I wanted.”

“No and I don’t intend on finding out either.” He said with a grin. “It’s only easy to get away with things if you know how to go about it, something tells me you wouldn’t know how.”
