the power cut was unexpected. and the sudden darkness had made you scream like a school girl.
rin bought a battery powered lantern and placed it inbetween you and him. you wrapped yourself with the blanket. and even after rin said no, you started narrating a horror story.
"and then—" you pause, shivering, then you scoot towards rin, clinging onto his side, "nevermind."
"...you got scared of your own dumb story telling?" rin accuses, still holding you closer.
"it's not that, rin. it's that, you will get surprised by the story. don't worry, i'll tell you that after the light comes back. i know you're a soft hearted boy," you really said that to a guy who watches horror shows as a hobby.
you flinched when the lantern lost it's power.
rin scoffs, "whats next? you screaming when the light comes back?"

he finally let's you see as he closes the door behind. fairy lights hanging just like stars, "the rain," yoichi starts, "we couldn't go star gazing. figured i could just...bring the view to bedroom."
"you did all this? alone?" you're not looking at the stars, you're focused on him as he shyly says yes. you immediately wrap your arms around him, "my god, i love it so much."
he hugs you back, laughing softly, "our own little galaxy. look," he holds your shoulder, making you look up, "the stars are so close to us...they're bright and...blinking? uh...stars blink, don't they?"
"they twinkle."
"yeah."

itoshi sae did not sign up for this. yes, he did reply with a single thumbs up when rin texted that the kids were begging and whining to go to the theme park.
one. it all starts with merry go round. the papas already embarrassed themselves by sitting on the moving horses with the kiddos. yes, the elderly women did snicker about them being adorable.
but yes, it was fine. merry go round? sae can handle embarrassment and slow spinning. sae can also handle taking goofy pictures. and the balloon shooting game. but then came what challenged sae a little.
two. bumper cars.
souta and shouma obviously sat together. rin sat with sakura, and sae with natsuki.

the twins already bumped into sae's car. with shouma calculating how exactly souta should drive and attack. sakura also drove into them, sandwiching them, "gotcha uncle sae!" sakura cheered.
"you're too slow, niichan," rin says arrogantly with a straight face.
"watch papa!" natsuki zooms and takes a turn, bumping into team sakura, "HAHA! WE GOT THEM!"
the round ended with souta and shouma winning. the papas weren't aware if there's winners or losers. whatever helps the kids to sleep at night.
three. "WATER COASTER! WATER COASTER!" souta and sakura cheer.
so water coaster it is.
it was simple. the slides goes down, splashing the water and at the same time, a picture is taken. souta and shouma sat infront. sakura and natsu in the middle. their papas in the back.
the slide goes whoosh! and rin swore he heard sae gasp.

"no," sae declares, "it looks unsafe."
"niichan," here comes the little brother's arrogance, "are you scared?"
"tsk."
so naturally, to prove rin wrong, sae got on his seat, right beside rin, double checking everything.
the first jerk forward already had sae's eyes going wide. the ride climbs climbs climbs. and—
"WOOOOOOOOO!!" the twins yell with their hands up. the girls also yell out, half out of horror and half out of excitement. papa rin nonchalant as ever.
and sae.
sae grabs rins arm tightly.
the ride climbs and drops and loops.

he exhaled deeply, trying to calm himself before getting off, walking slowly yet carefully so that no one notices his wobbly legs. and rin flips his hair, pushing it back as he looks at his niichan. niichan looks back, "watch it," niichan warns again.
sae's head was spinning. and yet he got on
five. the ferris wheel.
it's calm. very calm.
the twins had their faces pressed against the glass as they looked down, pointing at this and that. natsuki was sleepy, sakura enjoying the view while eating cotton candy. sae had his leg bouncing and rin for once looked concerned for his niichan.
"papa..." natsuki mumbles sleepily, leaning against sae, "i enjoyed a lot...'m happy..." maybe it wasnt as bad then. if natsu's happy, everything is worth it.
the ride comes to a stop. sae carries natsuki who had fallen asleep. sakura walked beside rin while rin yells at the twins to not run.
"rin..." sae calls, his face green as his eyes now.
the younger looks at his niichan in worry, "niichan...?"
sae immediately makes rin hold natsuki and turns the other way and throws up. vomit vomit vomit.
everyone's eyes windens.
sakura pats her uncle on the back.
and sae.
he wonders where that damn hammer is to break the fourth fucking wall again.
sae curses the author. the one who requested this. and you. yes you. take that smile off your face before sae bonks your head with the hammer.

every evening around six, you'd be back from your shift to find sae by your door. he'd always hold a bag of your favourite snacks or takeout from your favourite restaurant or your favourite flowers.
today was no different.
you sigh, letting him in nonetheless.
most days, he'd have the food with you and watch tv with you. stressful times, he's hold you, kiss you, and more if you'd allow him.
"sae," you call his name. he hums in response, sitting across you on the dining table as he peels oranges.
"you're wasting your time, sae," you tell him. and he doesn't even look at you, "sae, you know i don't really believe in this."
he hums again. so you call his name more firmly, "you're wasting your time," you say again.
and he simply places a piece of orange in your palm, "i know. and that's my decision. and my time to waste."

he doesn't know why you're so against that idea. he stopped asking you a long time ago. still, he didn't stop trying.
"im not gonna change my mind, rin," you say simply as you get on the train with him following behind.
"when did i tell you to?" rin murmers as he sits beside you, leaving a respectful space inbetween, "...what are you doing tomorrow?"
"it's sunday, rin."
"mhm. i'll be there," rin says shamelessly, "i'll text you the time."
you sigh, "rin, i plan to rot in the bed all day—"
"and did i say im stopping you?" he interrupts, "i'll spend my time rotting in your bed with you."
"you mean 'waste'?"
"no. i mean spend."

you're staring at the sky as the sun sets, looking like it's going to drown in the sea. yoichi sits beside you on the sand, offering a can of whatever drink you like.
"why aren't you trying?" you ask without looking at him, "why aren't you trying to change my mind?"
he looks at you, but he stays silent.
"everyone told me im wrong. everyone told me to give it a chance. why haven't you?"
"y/n," he gently calls, making you look at him, "i don't know what happened in your past. and it's not my place to tell you you're wrong or try to change you."
you both keep looking at each other, till shyness gets you and both look away.
"but..." yoichi starts, "i won't leave until you tell me to."
and till then, he's gonna waste his time on something you dont believe for a long time.

it was evening when you're just chopping chocolate into thin pieces to make hot choco. you almost predicted that he's gonna come to you after that match.
you opened the door to see him. the rain had started and you knew cause of how pathetic he looked at your door.
you step aside to let him in. you let him take a shower, and offer him his clean warm clothes that stayed at your place from the previous encounters.
you place a cup of hot chocolate down on the table for him.
"...did you watch the match?" he asks, looking up at you. you nod and his eyes show you how damn guilty he looked, "sorry for making you watch that shit. so fucking pathetic i am."
"michael," you reach out, holding his hands, "you're not—"
"not that i'm only wasting my time, im wasting yours too," he says and you're not sure if he's still talking about soccer, "pretty pathetic for a guy like me. ego so big yet fragile."
you stay quiet. hands not leaving his. eyes not leaving his blue ones.
"...you're never gonna give me the answer i want. that right, angel?" he asks so casually. your heart aches and maybe even softens up for him, and you know it does cause you're the one who leans in to kiss him. his palm cups your cheek in the most gentle way.
"angel," he pulls back just a bit, his breath brushing your lips, "if this...this is wasting time, then im right where i want to be."
"papa hold still," yuki scolds, making you chuckle as her papa sheepishly says 'sorry.'
he waited patiently as yuki applies obnoxious amount of blush on his face while you record the whole process.
for a final touch, she picks up the brown eyeliner, tapping so many spots on his nose as cheeks as freckles.
"done!" she cheered.
then it was yoichi's time to put makeup on her, and sadly, he was very poor at it but you were there to guide and even if he messes up, yuki wouldn't mind one bit.
"there you go," yoichi leans back to look at her, "my princess."
"ok, one...two...three!" you click the picture of both of them smiling ear to ear and yoichi didn't mind you posting it on your socials.

michael had grown hatred over yoichi as the time passed. maybe it was envy that yoichi actually had a purpose, while michael was nothing but mischief.

rose didn't really find yoichi's work interesting. all they did that day was sit on rooftops, shoot heart shaped arrows at two people and watch them fall in love.
rose didn't find your day interesting too. it was scary rather. as she watch a woman on her knees, begging you to give her more time to live.

but at the same moment. michael hears them. voices. cries. not the scary kind. not to him. he looks around, he sees them. souls. hiding.

rose cries again but full of happiness, hugging you tight.
michael looked at yoichi. a silent look that said you're seeing this? to which yoichi just nods with a smile of his own.
michael almost melts as he looks at you, "fuck, she's cute."
then you all look up to see a voice cut through the silence.
"man, the clouds didn't listen to me this time."

"you really have all the answers, don't you?" yoichi nudges tabito.
"i also have another answer," tabito continues, looking at michael, "well, you know rose is rose."

michael's grin softens. he places rose down as he steps towards you, cupping your face, and you smile. yes, you do when he confesses.

the doctor said, which party relieved sae. yet he didn't let his baby leave his arms.
little natsuki slept against her papa's chest for longer than usual. she wasn't interested in her toys, refused to eat her favourite fruit puree and only rested her cheek against sae's shoulder.
"sae," you call, sitting beside, "she should eat."
sae nodded, but didn't let go of her, "just...give me a moment."
you smile, telling him that she's gonna be ok as you gently squeeze his hand in reassurance before getting up to make something to eat for her.
natsuki made a tired noise, trying to lift her head up. sae expected her to reach her grabby hands for his face or babble in her very own language. but she only looked tired.
"...appo?" sae asked her. apple? cause she only understood it when her papa would say it in the baby way.
she repeats it, agreeing.
even if it was a little word she said clumsily, sae relaxed his shoulders, cause it was the first she babbled the whole day.

you smile softly, leaning towards him, "rin," you call, "it's not your fault."

it was almost funny how bachira ran after the bus yelling "wait! don't forget us—!" but then was pulled back by you before he got run over by a vehicle.
finding the place to stay with an available room was almost impossible. then finally, a small hotel came in sight. and that too had only one room. but thankfully(or unthankfully) had two beds.
when the receptionist apologized for the unavailablility of rooms and asked for a payment method, rin stepped forward, giving his card, "one is fine, since im the only one who knows how to bring money," the receptionist awkwardly laughs.
when entered the room, "alright," yoichi sighs, "how do we do this?" the three boys already started debating on which bed to sleep on.
"me and y/n!" bachira chimed, "on the bed near the window!"
to end the nonsense argument, rin simply grabbed your wrist, pulling you to the bed.
"oi rin!" yoichi protests.
"rin-chan! no fair!" bachira joins.
rin paid no attention to them.
bachira sighs, "looks like isagi-kun is my cuddle buddy now."

yoichi was now sitting on bed, eyes sleepy and irritated as he watches bachira wake you both up. oh yoichi was so damn annoyed by bachira drooling.
it was past midnight. but kombini's instant noodles suddenly made everyone wide awake.
"not good as the maggie noodles y/n-chan makes," bachira says while nom noming, "but this'll do for now."
rin glares at bachira.
"what?" bachira notices. then smirks. something smart building up his thoughts, "rin-chan. i didn't knew you were so cuddly."
rin almost chokes in embarrassment. yoichi almost chokes in laughter.
you pay no attention, only focused on the instant noodles.
suddenly back in the hotel room, no one was really sleepy. so obviously, the two beds were moved and pressed together to make one big bed as the four of you sat in circle while bachira tells a horror story.
yoichi and rin had their arms crossed. you leaned your head on rin's shoulder.
"and then...the mosquito was actually the boyfriend of the girl in previous life."
"is this supposed to be scary?" rin comments.
"it is!" bachira defends, "cause the drool of that mosquito is so toxic it could kill!"
"doubt that it's more toxic than you drooling, bachira," yoichi says, making bachira gasp dramatically. rin scoffed, that only earned a glare from bachira.
"atleast i only drool in sleep. not have my tongue and drool out on the field."
you had to physically hold rin down before he could jump bachira.
and as the time passed, the sleep got you four.
that ended with four dumbheads cuddling on one bed.
