icons for two of my OCs
Maybe I'll do the rest as well 🤔
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It came to my attention some of my ocs have -ka at the end of their names (Snezhka, Verka, Stefka)
Those three were born in people's republic of Bulgaria and it was common back then for women to have -ka at the end of their names. Nowadays i don't see people my age or younger have it, it's quite rare now.
The purpose of "-ka" is that it turns the name in cutesy form. It makes the name sound and be cute. Without it, their full names would be: "Snezhana, Vera, Stefani"
We still use it for women we know or women we're friends with, and for fictional characters we like
Wait like their legal names? That’s kinda weird to have a diminutive as your legal name
I have a Lovinka too but she’s rarely called that lol
yes, legal names. In Bulgaria it's not weird at all. It's just like any other name but ka at the end. We don't pay attention to it. I just wanted to talk about the reason, i like to notice small stuff no one else does

Very lazy doodles cuz my hands hurt from drawing 2much
Some more Stefka lore..
The tiny village she was born in was poor POOR. She and the rest of the kids fit in one classroom.
Her parents had her because they can't afford the "ergenski tax". This was a tax during the Bulgarian Communism which you must pay if you don't have children, and with each year the price gets more expensive. (This did leave a huge scar in Stefka's heart..)
This explains her aggressive and gloomy nature, she hasn't seen any love.
Due to how Stefka was risen, she dreamed of becoming rich since a child, but keeping the money to herself.
Stefka despises any discrimination, she grew up with all sorts of kids at her village. Children at such young age don't know what class, ethnicity or race is - they only want a buddy to play with.
Also Stefka doesn't even know when she's born, like yes she knows the year but not the month and day. Her mom gave birth in the village without any doctors, hospitals or ambulance.. she doesn't even have birth certificate.
She legally doesn't exist

WHY DOES AMANDA HAVE A PLAN B?😭😭😭
Lmfaooo 😭😭😭 i don't even know how her poor weakened muscles hold the rifle, those weapons are heavier than her own body!
She's looking for certain artist ..👀
Also, here's a better quality!
Stefka (1994 and 1997 era)
I haven't spoken up about why Stefka hates her own people (Bulgarians)
Stefka comes from the Northwestern region in Bulgaria. That's the poorest and the least populated region in the whole country - more specifically in a village in Vidin oblast.
This same region has really unique dialect - it's really VULGAR and most of it sounds like Serbian language. Bulgarians outside this region can't understand almost any of what's said in the dialect unless you're from there or speak Serbian. (Also, something as simple as "how are you?" Can be said in really vulgar/offensive way).
Dialects can be seen as "uncivilised", speaking like a "peasant" or "unable/can't speak proper Bulgarian" and other stuff like that from people who are from huge cities. (Those same cities have dialects too but they think they don't think of themselves as uncivilised or unable to speak bulgarian cuz they're from the "big cities").
Stefka faced constant discrimination from her colleagues and work for being from Northwestern Bulgaria and with such different dialect. Her job was in the capital (Sofia) and sofiantsi love discrimination the most. That's their favourite thing. calling anything that breaths a "peasant" or "the province" ..
At some point she snapped, and in 1996 (during the hyperinflation) she went on a long rant about Bulgarians hating their own culture and differences while at work. colleagues put an etiquette on her being an "asshole" , "peasant" and she got fired. Stefka accepted she will become an asshole and a peasant. She was already full with all the money she wants (so she doesn't ever wanna return to having a job.)
Now she lives like she's poor despite having millions. The best thing she bought with her money is Mercedes S class
