#made using the threads of embroidery floss :)#gonna use the band for bookbinding #then i can finally finish atleast one of my bookbinding projects and make alot of excess band for future books with the same focus #i haven't rly gotten much further with the cat jester doll but instead i'm almost finished with my only crochet project that has a deadline #and i started two other crochet projects beside the blanket #one is using a very professionally made (and free!) pattern for a bjd the other is my attempt at changing an existing pattern from Youtube #to crochet a liripipe hood and it looks like i have to use acrylic yarn to avoid it being too stiff

marionette puppet 2.0

#this time i'm (mostly) following a tutorial from a book abt puppet making #i got the fur pattern from a picture on that one site thats collecting photos of unusual cat coats #apparently i dont have the site bookmarked #the clothes are based on the clothes from a jester in a painting from the 1400s iirc #its supposed to be red and black but i didnt have a proper black color pencil on hand when i was drawing the ref #gonna try and cover the head with paper maché tomorrow and hope it works

#cosplay wip #that's actually my second try :)#first try i used a pattern from a youtube video and got to the stage where the two helmet halves were individually glued but were so missha #and the edges were so uneven that i scrapped it and made my own pattern for which i of course decided to first bulk up my styrofoam head #thingy with glue and paper (bc aluminum foil felt too uneven and was difficult to even keep on the head) which took like two months i think #(including breaks bc i did not work on this thing every day) and then another like two weeks for pattern drafting #all in all a very frustrating process so far but atleast i now already have a good base helmet that fits and that i can see out of :)#and i also now have a properly written down plan on what to do when #and even if I've already gone a little bit off script its a huge relief to have atleast that #i also recently finished the fursona mannequin and already have a concept for another more complicated mannequin #(a cat jester with an outfit inspired by a 1490s painting) tho i have no idea when I'll actually start working on that bc i also currently #am working on a funger ttrpg based on an existing funger ttrpg but i want mine to be based solely in the dungeon and time of f&h1 #so I've been copying and rewriting and comparing with the game wiki and game files a bunch of things lately #i feel like I'm nowhere near done but I'm rly locked in and switching between working on the helmet and working on the ttrpg which helps #with motivation

#crafting #crochet #gnomes #bnnuy #fursona #furry sfw #the gnomes were for a christmas market thing and i also made some for my relatives on my mother's side #the marionette doll is hugely inspired/based on/copied from a furry marionette doll that went viral on tiktok last year #since that tiktok furry doesnt/didnt have any sort of tutorial i had to work out alot of the process myself which took a while lol #i also got into ghost last year and finally decided to try a bit of linocut printing/cutting again :)#and a couple of weeks ago i got rly into crocheting and made a bunch of granny square swatches and those two bunnies #i also wanna make a granny square blanket but i havent decided on a design yet since there are alot of granny square designs i wanna make #but they dont all fit together thematically #so instead of making a decision i made the two bunnies #the smaller one was the first one and i ran out of the multicolored sock yarn towards the end as you can see lol #the second bunny i made with much larger yarn than what they used in the pattern and if id had followed the pattern i dont think id have ha #enough yarn and i didnt wanna buy more yarn for just the bunny so i tried downsizing the pattern #which is probably part of why it looks quite wonky #other than my less than stellar sewing job lol #tbh amigurumi type patterns are more boring than granny squares in terms of stitch variety (so. many. single crochets.)#but there are more full amigurumi type projects i wanna do compared to granny square projects since im not interested in anything made of #granny squares other than like blankets #and a whole blanket of a decent size is also alot of yarn #and i dont wanna use scratchy but cheap acrylic yarn for a blanket so my color options are currently a bit limited since i dont wanna buy #any online (atleast for now)#anyways i also made some cardweaving patterns for bookmark ribbons for fanfic bookbinding but im rly procrastinating that #im just not rly ready yet for the frustrations that i had with cardweaving a year ago
