Sphere/Necropolis

For some reason, it made him think of Liu shidi. The one he failed so thoroughly. The one who deserved to live instead of the waste of space that he was.

The former Qing Peak’s Lord’s heart gave a shudder that had nothing to do with his physical condition. He let out a careful breath before focusing on his goal and deemed the glowing sphere unimportant.

Slowly but surely, he managed to make the pot he was kept in fall down and slowly but surely wormed his way to the shards scattered on the ground, the pain of his missing limbs and eye, of the lashes and other torture his broken body had been subjected to over however much time he’d been here nothing to his willpower.

Steadfast, Shen Jiu made his slow and painful way to his goal, finally. Xuan Su’s remains lay in front of his face, reflecting the slight glint of the acid waterfall of his prison.

He took a moment to breathe and then took the first piece of metal in his mouth, cutting his dry and cracking lips in the process. It was hard to swallow without his tongue, but he managed after a while. He barely felt the way his oesophagus split open, nor did he mind the sluggish trickle of blood in his airway slowly drowning him.

When he couldn’t get the energy to move anymore, and the blood in his lungs was beginning to make him even more lightheaded, Shen Jiu lay, breath gurgling, and looked to the small ball of light.

Though, instead of being that, he was seeing a slightly transparent and panicking Liu Qingge.

The fainter he felt, the more the image of his dead shidi strengthened, until he could hear pleas that the proud Bai Zhan War God would have never uttered for scum like him. How funny, he thought, what the mind could come up with in its last moments. He never expected to imagine a person he’d actively disliked until their last moment to be what he’d find to help him make peace with his demise. Not that he wanted nor expected peace. He deserved everything he’d suffered, he knew.

One moment, there was nothing anymore. No pain, no feelings, not anything. Then, the next, Shen Jiu was standing on legs he hadn’t had in who knew how long, in what he could only think as a necropolis; no life to be found, only death and ash.

Perplexed, he turned to examine his surroundings. He’d expected Diyu and its tortures to be more horror inducing, to be quite honest. With a mental shrug, he began to walk down the slope he’d appeared in, something in the landscape tugging at his mind.

It was only when he arrived at the remains of the rainbow bridge that he realized where he was.

“I’m sorry.”

So, just because I'm trying to be somewhat responsible and need a bit of accountability, I'm posting this here.

I don't know yet how I'm going to update this feed, but I plan to do it either way.

List of things to do the next few weeks (because I'm not doing everything at once, are you crazy? I have chronic pain and other stuff to do anyways, lol):

Assemble that freaking shelf for my desk area and put stuff in it

Go through books and games and declutter what needs to go

Donate clothes already prepared for such

Recycle empty glasses

Go through that one basket that's full of clean socks that need to find their frens. If finding no fren, sorry sock, but you're not staying

Sell shoes and clothes put aside for it on FB market

Sell children's books still pending, and if can't sell, just donate

Do something with the laundry that's waiting in the "laundry room" -> either give to mom to use her washing machine or go to laundromat

Also go through all the clothes I've still not gone through yet and either: keep, donate, sell or throw if in poor shape (I'm sure there'll be a few of those for smol human, because children)

Organize and clean the bedrooms

Probably need to go through toys but that'll wait for the weeks I have Little Monster tbh because it's his stuff (so again: keep, donate, sell or throw if broken)

Clean aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the dishes. That's going to take so much time, ugh.

Also go through kitchen stuff and keep or donate. I don't need all that stuff tbh (overconsumption be gone!)

When done with cleaning Little Monster's room assemble that one toy shelf thingie that's been waiting for like a year to be assembled. And have like a system for the toys most used or something so they're organized when Little Monster does put away his stuff

Deep clean bathroom.

Reorganize kitchen and then deep clean the heck out of it

Organize "laundry room" (more like a storage room? That's where I put all decorations for festivities, but also out of season clothes and stuff on top of the pending laundry baskets) and clean, duh

Same for hallway!

Also clean all the windows and doors and heater because you have to do that once in a while, and what better time than when you're doing everything

And of course the desk/living room/entry way area: organize and clean though that's literally the least bothersome space in my place ever.

Also: been exceedingly low energy, on account on body still adjusting to new meds, and I've also had some pain flareups in my back (probably from overdoing it, rip me) so I've not finished much, but I did get some progress for nearly everything! Aside from Little Monster's room, which is his job to go through when he's here, hehe.

I was the second one for most of my life online. Now? I'm the first one.

Also can you speak about my bb's environment? Like where in the world it lived, what other species coexisted and such?

Why is this documentary making me feel so annoyed? It's past midnight. It's a documentary. About dinosaurs!

Well feels less like a documentary the more time passes. The narration is really the worst. The vocabulary used and how they depict dinosaurs vs. Other animal families is feeling very... Hm.

Oh. And they're back on their nonesense about dinosaurs having to conquer the world. Dude. You sound like supremacist fiends. Dinosaurs aren't humans. They didn't go out of their way as a whole to conquer the world and become the dominating family on our planet for millions of year. They're freaking animals? Living their lives? Trying to survive? Evolving as everything does in our universe????? Why are you adding all those elements that need not be added????

Not to be a xenophobic bum or anything, but I kind of hate the over-dramatisation in American documentaries.

This is soooo below Walking with Dinosaurs and even Dinosaur Planet in everything but the animation. And even then, it's kinda depending on the scenes. Because the pachycephalosaurus' scene when they fought was bad. And I don't like how they made spinosaurus look as well as other species.

Ugh.

OK on with last chapter. Expecting to feel very sad by the end because of how dinosaurs disappeared but also frustrated by the narration nonesense.

I didn't expect the Arambourgiania jumpscare???? Also yeah mama! Kick its butt!

Ah guess it's T-Rex time?

Bleh. Pachycephalosaurus fight sequence. I hate that when it's been proven they actually didn't really do it like that? Sure they fought but not head against head butting?

Ah one of my son's favourite species thanks to Camp Cretaceous! Ankylosaurus. Though it looks a tiny bit weird? Its head at least.

Still hate the narration so much. Soooo much hate (said in Sister Minnie's mom Zainah's voice).

Would a t-rex have gone against an ankylosaurus like that? Why does it feel contrived? No no that's so contrived. Yeah. That's definitely a scene for Jurassic World fans right there. Ugh.

Whelp. Rip poor innocent ankylosaurus.

Also t-rex looks gnarly. Her face looks weird.

I'd like to highlight that this was probably made with sufficient means to produce good quality cgi!

Babies!!!! Aaaaaah so much cute!!!! (Sister Minnie narration making a comeback... Alas I do not possess a dolphin adjacent laugh, more like a witch's cackle)

Ugh the flashback. Can you not? I hate how they do it.

Again, they make it sound very supremacist for a family of animals that did not go out to dominate the world. Thank you.

Ah. Yeah. Time to be sad I guess. Will they explain the whole extinction event? There is one Discovery channel made documentary special on this event that was made so well I honestly had nothing bad to say about it.

OK so we have what happens at explosion site and debris. We're missing some of the near site info but so far so good when it comes to explaining how and why so many species disappeared because of the impact of one big asteroid.

Rip poor babies. Dang. I'm never not sad about this. Well. All big extinction events always hit me hard in the feels.

Oh. Of course they're showing humans digging for fossils. Ugh again with the poopy narration.

Oh!!!!! Cryolophosaurus from the Musée Royal des Sciences Naturelles of Brussels! How fun to see an American show taking a snippet from there, but again, it's one of my favourite natural history museums ever (I was so disappointed by the one in NYC BTW and I'll never let go of how overhyped it is for such a meh experience compared to London and Brussels... Even Paris was more fun! Also they have a sarcosuchus imperator! And megaceros! So cool! I did like the Smithsonian though! When did this turn into my review of Natural history museums I've visited?). The dinosaur rooms are great! Lots of Iguanodon fossils because of the mines in Bernissart where they found a ton of them, and I love love looooooove going to gawk at the mosasaur in the lowest level, also the children always have so much fun in all the levels because the museum is BIG so when we go it's always a full day for the trip (I mean, when you count the train and bus time it's understandable haha) but everyone is always happy and more cultured at the end of it lol.

I think this is the last chapter before I stop for the night. I was supposed to stop like 30min ago, but of course I started late, and then I also took a long break because I made myself sad with the drabble I wrote, and now I made myself sad again. Ugh.

Even the little bit of teenage friendship stuff at the end there didn't help. Boo.
