carry an old ladies groceries, pick up some litter on the beach, smile at babies, pick flowers, hand write letters, stand in the rain, buy a plant, worship whomever you follow, go to thrift stores, get wine drunk, play music, scream, cry, love loudly and fondly. please we are humans our world is not meant to be contained to a 9 x 5 brick.

bartylily but barty is that kid that smokes in the back of class and has so many stick poke tattoos that teachers have stopped telling him to cover up and he gets in wild debates in government class and his hair is always a mess and his jeans have stains and yeah he’s a little rough around the edges but not many people meet their fathers fist every night. and lily is…perfect. at least in his eyes. her hair is long and she wears bows for christ sakes and she’s mean to him but she doesnt talk down to him and she wears skirts and passes him gum and doesn’t comment on the bruises. so barty calls her lils and buys her gummies at the snack store and saves her a seat in english and tosses his jacket over her shoulders and drives her home some days when petunia refuses. they smoke in his bedroom and he likes the smell of her strawberry perfume and he knows this won’t last, how could it? she’s destine for more and barty will continue his fathers line of work. but right now he wraps his arms around her, listening to her high rambles and tries to memorize the feel of her body and the smell of her hair
