Can’t speak for @luchadoreofliberty but FDR was a politician, which should be proof enough but there was also
His rounding up people at gun-point and putting them in concentration camps due to their ethnicity
cartelizing businesses to enrich the politically connected at the expense of poor consumers
FDR’s slaughtering pigs and destroying food in order to raise prices while millions were hungry
His prolonging the depression for the purposes of his own ideological vision and interests in expanding his own power
His illegally canceling all private air-mail contracts and then putting unequipped Air Corps pilots in charge of airmail delivering, resulting in almost daily plane crashes,
His raising taxes on the poor and middle class during the height of the depression,
His using police powers to arrest and try people for working more hours than FDR wanted them to, or for growing wheat on their farm to feed their families without permission,
His dispersal of ‘New Deal’ ‘Aid’ & ‘Relief’ funds for overtly political purposes–lavishing money on key battleground states while ignoring often poorer and more needy people in states which were either too solidly democratic too need to be bought off or too solidly republican to be worth trying to bribe,
His conscripting people (and jailing the dissenters) and sending them across the world to kill or be killed in a massive war which the american people wanted to stay out of but FDR maneuvered them into through backdoor aiding of Britain and agitating of Japan, going as far as to do nothing to stop (and in fact doing everything to encourage) the attack on Pearl Harbor despite knowing about it in advance
His sending government agents to literally steal all privately held gold (which at the time was money and was held by everybody not just rich people),
His trying to appoint as many extra supreme court justices as necessary to obliterate any attempt at a judicial check on executive power,
His allying with “Uncle Joe” Stalin, trying to get Hollywood to create pro-soviet propaganda films (both decisions which took place after the USSR’s deliberate decision to starve the Ukrainians),
His purposely bombing German and Japanese cities with the express purpose of killing large numbers of civilians,
His launching the Manhattan Project to create the Atomic Bomb, the most heinous and destructive offensive weapon ever devised, and on and on.
His appointment of a Klansman to the Supreme Court
His policy (or lack thereof) on anti-lynching laws (which amounted to a support of the right of certain people to lynch certain other people),
His refusal to accept (or even use his bully pulpit to speak up for accepting) jewish refugees from Nazi Germany,
His cheating on his wife,

In short, he was a bad dude. Even by the standards of politicians.
As his VP and successor Harry Truman said about FDR (in private):
“Inside, he was the coldest man I ever met. He didn’t seem to care about you or me or anyone else in the world…”
Eleanor Roosevelt had a similar take on her husband:
“The president uses those who suit his purposes. He makes up his own mind and discards people when they no longer serve a purpose of his.”
