You cover the crack with a song You grow in darkness like a drowned woman Oh cover in more songs the fissure, the                  crack, the rent.

Another Room
There is another room You could spend time in. What a shame not to enter More often: walls a color
Hard to imagine, windows Overlooking a shy garden. From there it is easy to see A neighbor pinning laundry,
Composing a line of forlorn Collars and sleeves Punctuated by buttons Catching the afternoon sun,
Whose face was a stranger Until their mother-of-pearl Was torn from a bed in a reef. Whenever a chance to return
Returns, you wonder why You didnât sit in that sofa, Alone or near someone In a chair, watching
A robin abandon The swaying branches, Listening to rain on the roof, Undersong of comfort,
Undersong of grief. A lifetime could be wasted Dreaming there, a lifetime Wasted not dreaming there.
I do not let go of him yet, but hold the string and watch my idea of him pull away and stay, and pull away, my silver kite.

The slow arrow of beauty. â The noblest kind of beauty is not that which suddenly transports us, which makes a violent and intoxicating assault upon us (such beauty can easily excite disgust), but that which slowly infiltrates us, which we bear away with us almost without noticing and encounter...

Six simple rituals: 1. Drink a glass of water when you wake up. Your body loses water while you sleep, so youâre naturally dehydrated in the morning. A glass of water when you wake helps start your day fresh. 2. Define your top 3. Every morning ask yourself, âWhat are the top three most important tasks that I will complete today?â Prioritizes your day accordingly and donât sleep until the Top 3 are complete. 3. The 50/10 Rule. Solo-task and do more faster by working in 50/10 increments. Use a timer to work for 50 minutes on only one important task with 10 minute breaks in between. Spend your 10 minutes getting away from your desk, going outside, calling friends, meditating, or grabbing a glass of water. 4. Move and sweat daily. Regular movement keeps us healthy and alert. It boosts energy and mood, and relieves stress. 5. Express gratitude. Gratitude fosters happiness. Each morning, think of at least five things youâre thankful for. In times of stress, pause and reflect on these things. 6. Reflect daily. Bring closure to your day through 10 minutes of reflection. Asks yourself, âWhat went well?â and âWhat needs improvement?â

I want to be understood by my country, nothing more.
but if I fail to be understoodâ
what then?
I shall pass through my native land
        at an angle, in vain,
                     like a shower
                     of slanting rain.
