Absolutely NOT(on my watch)
I haven't written for homelander in a long ass time y'all so this shits about to suck (I'm terribly sorry lmao) but i watched about half the last episode, very displeased, realized I had free will and cut it off after, you know what. i just looked up the rest because I can.
Anyways, this is me coping because there is absolutely no way it ends like that nope nah uh didn't happen.
So lets get to it, warnings are: spoilers for the last ep of season five of The Boys, Blood/gore all that jazz, cursing, character death.
This is a x reader fic that's also gender neutral, r is a vampire but it's a well hidden secret. (you're just described as a vampire-esque supe
Using a bit of tvd vampire blood logic as well just a little. and flashbacks will be italicized. ummm I'm not sure exactly BUT I may do a part two
"Please Homelander, for once just fucking listen to me!" You exclaim desperately. The man in question glowers at you though he remains silent. You inhale deeply calming yourself, though the pit in your stomach grows, the feeling of impending doom is inescapable.
"It's just a precaution, John. If they did copy Soldier Boys power, if they managed to reach you, to hurt you-" You pause, heart beating erratically at the thought while Homelander scoffs, his eyes rolling. "John Please? If everything goes as planned then it just leaves your system. But on the off chance they win-" You quiet, Homelander cutting you off, his hand raising taking the small shot glass from you. The dark liquid sloshing around slightly the scent of iron and decay filling his senses.
"Will you shut up and calm down if I drink this?" He questions impatiently not willing to admit he doesn't mind the extra precaution. You nodded erratically without speaking. He huffs and drinks the contents.
You jolt up, the scent of blood filling your nose, the shock from the blast, and from Butchers attack having knocked your senses about. Gripping the wall you were thrown into, your head throbs, like a hammer banging on the inside of your skull. Once your vision clears you're met with the sight of Homelander's lifeless body and Butcher standing over him. Butcher turns, seeing your movements out of the corner of his eye. He bends, picking up the crowbar from Homelander's body and you wince. Bile building in your throat as you momentarily glance at the wound in his head. Your gaze locks back onto Butcher as he turns towards you. You swallow just as Starlight, Hughie, and MM burst into the tattered oval office. They help Kimiko up before turning their focus onto you.
"What do we do with her?" Annie questions, looking between you and Butcher. Butcher in question gripping the crow bar tighter, and just before he takes a step towards you or speaks, you flicker to Homelanders corpse in a second. That brought a look of confusion to Butchers face.
"Now, you were also struck by the blast." He states, the confusion in his voice is evident. You don't bother responding, carefully sliding your hands under Homelander lifting him up with ease. As you glance up at Butcher and The Boys, you the camera that was still live recording the encounter, you quickly tossed a chunk of debris at it destroying the camera. You proceed to leave the building before anyone could stop you, movement no more than a slight blur.
You don't stop running until you make it to his cabin, there you carefully sit him down on the couch before wetting a rag, gently cleaning the blood off his face. You examine his face carefully, waiting for any signs that your blood worked but all the cuts remained open. You sit on the chair across from him, and wait.
Hours pass by with you dozing off lightly when a heartbeat faintly rings in your ears. You open your eyes slowly before scrambling off the chair kneeling next to Homelander. You rest your ear against his chest anxiously listening for the next heart beat.
"Cmon.. cmon please." You whisper quietly when you hear another faint beat of his heart. You exhale shakily before sitting back on the floor and reach for his hand holding it gently. You didn't know how he would react to everything, losing his powers, dying, coming back from death, becoming a vampire. No matter what though, you'd do your best to help him acclimate, and hopefully convince him to not go back to the city.
