I’m absolutely in love with these stupid frog airpod cases, but I don’t own airpods so I won’t buy it. They’re just so hilarious.

The studio is still indie, but I don’t feel like licensed games backed by bigger corporations can be indie. And I’m fair about it, if Pokemon or Sonic was in the indie category I’d still feel that way.

I don’t care if it sounds snobby, Peppa Pig is not fucking invited to the indie roundup.

But there is one specific thing that gives me no greater satisfaction than ANYTHING ELSE winter has to offer after a long ten hour work shift.

Cold blankets. The house is naturally cooler in the winter and pulling a fluffy cold duvet over my aching bones does something for me emotionally. It’s like a whole body sigh.

I’d rank it up there with a hot bath, honestly.

Friend: “I don’t like Mac N’ Cheese.” Or you know. Insert any other spicy take they may have.

Me: “I’ll pray for you.”

Friend: “…You’re not even religious.”

Because that’s exactly what I would do. Accept that business card with two hands, sleeve it with a dragon shield, and put that sucker in a Pokemon binder.

“Oh? You need Tanaka san’s cell phone number?”

*I proceed to open my desk and slap a giant Charizard binder on the table.*

“What do you have to trade then? It’s an ultra rare with gold foil. If you had wanted Nakayama san’s I have like 12 and would just give you one but like… Tanaka san’s? *sharp inhale through teeth*”

Obviously the higher up the chain the business card is from the more rare it is. Like the CEO’s business card would be a super ultra rare.

Normal salary worker is common.

I want… a grown up mature unicorn purse that doesn’t use AI. And I don’t think that I’m asking for a lot. I want MATURE HORSES. With pretty grownup pictures! None of that knock off clip art rainbow vomit bullshit.

And I’m not even implying that stuff is bad, but it is irritating when THAT’S ALL THE MARKET HAS TO OFFER. I’m 30! I’ll be 31 in December. I want a different brand of obnoxious and gaudy.

I want people to look at my bag and not think of MLP (no offense y’all. I just like grown up horses.) but think of elegant beasts. With pretty details! I’m going to gesture at a vague idea, but also more colors are welcome to apply. I just want detailed things!

I am especially sick of this shit. Which I acknowledge I’m not the target demographic, but I wouldn’t even get this for my kid. I want the whole fucking horse. Not this lazy implication bullshit.

There’s nothing wrong if people like it but it is so annoying in general because it PLAGUES unicorn searches like Temu items plague Amazon. Everywhere. I just want to shop in my stupid autistic niche without this quick to make easy bake nonsense.

How am I supposed to come to the party late and only find about this yesterday, IN THIS ECONOMY, and y’all being like this?

And they basically talked about it like it was the Black Lotus of baseball cards?

Hey, so why did they teach us about the high value of this one card? It wasn’t even a baseball card unit. It would just be kinda thrown in as a “did you know”.

Do schools now talk about the rarity of holographic first edition Charizards now or what?

Or was that a thing that was just our school district? Because again. More than one teacher impressed upon us that this card was rare and expensive. I want to say it was covered while talking about a book/movie we covered a couple of times.

But still… a part of me wants to preserve Sonic for the future. Future humans? Other things? I don’t know. I just think it would be cool if he made it. (I feel like if anyone could make it, it would be Sonic.) I’d want to do like…

Each of the main series games, and maybe the IDW comics since they are canon to the lore. I’d actually want to archive all of the media that way, but if I had to be selective that’s what I would go for. That way if they can’t figure out what CDs do they’d have the comics? If they made it at all. Who knows.

I’d also want to include DVD eqse thing that has all the cutscenes and video media too.

And this is not a “Y’all are being a problem” post. Obviously pretty much everyone here loves Sonic. Got it. Fair. I love that dude. Makes sense the most popular content will be around the main character.

But I almost NEVER see any OC x Canon ship art of like an OC and Amy. (I’m using Amy as an example but the other girls are equally as applicable.) Either people draw NSFW of the girls or they are paired with canon characters. I know there are people out there that do this, but it seems to be an incredible minority.

I’ve seen more OCs with Mighty than I have Amy, Blaze, Sally, whatever. It’s not bad, but I do wonder why that it is. It’s undeniable that people obviously like the girls. I have seen it on rare occasions. I mention it because… I guess I want to see more people write relationships with their OCs and the women.

Why don’t I do it? Probably for the same reason a lot other people don’t. Of course my sweet baby angel is going to date my favorite characters. Which are…

…Sonic and Shadow. 😅 Big shock. I know.

…And there’s no way to prevent children from seeing the massive amount of terrible hentai shovelware on their e-shop. I just learned even having a children’s account still exposes them to the hentai games.

And it’s not just one. It’s like… Side Show Bob with the fucking rakes. Step one direction and bam.

And I don’t say this as some angelical “Think of the innocent children! 👼”

I’m trying to find new games and every couple dips down the list on this dinosaur slow ass shop has hentai everywhere. Sick of that shit! I’m not even saying it can’t be there. I’m just saying I don’t want to have to be forced to sift through it!

But also it makes me sad there isn’t much else? There are other short stories and manga Takeuchi did. I’m not discrediting that. I also don’t blame her for not doing new stuff because I’d NEVER fucking work again if I had something that hit it that big. I totally and empathetically understand. She deserves to kick back.

Still… her work is such a specific flavor that it makes me sad there isn’t more? Not just more Sailor Moon. Just more anything past that. ANYTHING. A NEW GREAT THING. I am but a sinner who has been shown a glimpse of paradise.

Sometimes artists only open their hearts for others to glimpse for a short amount of time. We really are lucky I think.

I’m thinking about it because we’re about to close on the Crystal series and my favorite arc and just like… ugh. It makes me sad just THINKING ABOUT IT.

I hope they cover the song from the original series. A new great song would be good, but also the original so sooooo romantic.

ANYWAY. The main thing is I started reading some of the other stuff! (the stuff pre-Sailor Moon) I think it’s exciting to see what other things people have made other than the main thing. Mermaid series? Sign me up!

And you should too! Especially if you’re looking for that very specific flavor. This is just one of those things I wanna share. Because I think you should try it.

I’m not saying that because I really love Olive Garden but also it’s kinda weird. Unless I just missed it.

Give me exclusive but in actuality they just renamed their regular dishes to be Sonic themed Sonic themed pastas like the IHOP pancakes.

A Death Note visual novel could be the best thing you’ve ever read. High stakes detective mystery with multiple endings, deaths, and routes? It could be cool to experience Death Note from L’s perspective. Or maybe not. Who knows? (Add bonus points for getting original voice actors on board for subs and dubs.)

If applicable you could even add some of the extra details from the light novels (of any anime. I’m using Death Note as an easy example.). Visual novels have so much more time to explore ideas and concepts compared to anime. (Manga and light novels thankfully does get the time to explore these concepts better.)

They don’t have to be long and drawn out either. Just write them to be good!

Evangelion got visual novels that never got localized. (I think it was for Wonderswan, Sega Saturn, PC, PS2, and PSP? Probably a couple I’m missing from memory.) That shit is so unfair. That’s another franchise that could be really great for the format.

Junji Ito had a VN too for Wonderswan.

I know why they don’t. Niche and most anime fans probably don’t care? That’s an assumption on my part. Do a large amount of people even read the light novels? VNs are already so niche… I have no idea how well they sell. They’ll never do Mario numbers but does attaching them to a certain franchise narrow or broaden their audience?

But also the original writers likely aren’t the ones working on the expanded work and making it seem believable, written well, and “canon” to the original material seems difficult. I own that. And not everyone could fit the format with ease.

Again I think Death Note could, but something like Sailor Moon likely wouldn’t translate well. (Not that I wouldn’t love to be wrong. I would sooo rather be wrong and get a stunning Sailor Moon visual novel masterpiece.)
