I think it’s fate to meet someone who lives a parallel life. Last night, I spoke with a woman who has undergone struggle and trauma, but is persevering through it. She is so motivated and positive. The events and experiences in her life have driven her to pursue her dreams and become the strongest version of herself - physically and mentally. I truly admire that.
When she described her healing process, I felt this strong connection that I don’t often feel with others. I sympathized with her. I noticed that she never labeled herself as a “victim,” but explained that “shit happens like this more often than people think. It’s a fucked up place, but we make it out alive; we make it out stronger than expected, and that the biggest fuck you that you can give to them.” What a fucking bad ass.

To the Woman I Spoke With Last Night:
It isn’t over. You and I will never be done with the pain and flashbacks of the occurrences. We will mentally return to those moments. We will feel the fear and shock that we once did. We will get scared. We will react. It’s okay.
Don’t give up. I promise that for each time one hits rock bottom, a blessing will come after. It sounds like a load of bullshit, but I believe it. The past cannot be left behind, but a brighter future is ahead. I am not a speaker. I will not discus your problems with you, but I am here. I am with you, even if it is mentally. My spirit will always be channeling positive vibes when you need.
