I toss and turn restlessly, my mind trailing back to her. This bright blue star. A star that I cannot reach, for it burns millions of miles away from me. I could lie on the grass endlessly staring up at her, admiring her beauty but would always know I’d never cross her thoughts. Because she is a star, among other stars that will always have the ability to burn as brightly along side her. An endless aching will always rest on my heart knowing that I could never compare.

This bright blue star. She twinkles and beams and illuminates the darker nights. The dark night creeps soundly through my blinds, tiptoeing over to keep me tied to my drenched pillow. She calls to me though, this bright blue star. She shares to me her light, her energy, and so the darkness fades.

I want to believe that she shares this light for me and me alone. I know though, that this light will cast on anyone who can see her beauty. Her glow. Her energy. Her brightness. Her strength. It could belong to anyone who just dares to look up. And while I could pretend that of all the people she could look to, she chooses to look down to me, I know it would be a lie. For she burns for everyone. Anyone who can see her light. A light that I will never reach for she is a star among stars. And I am just a girl, looking up.
