My work looks into mental health in an artistic context, through my portrayal of different perspectives of lives plagued with problems, shown through glass reflections. I put an emphasis on the unstable nature of the mind through my use of 3D materials, some of which will crumble over time.

The compartmentalisation of dissonance manifests itself as my “ghosts”. Releasing these “ghosts” as fragile and fragmented shells of my own body, suspended in time and space, creates a physical embodiment of my sincerest moments of vulnerability and chaotic existence.

Memories make us who we are, it is the past that defines us. But we can’t forget to grow and evolve. Because sometimes a memory can be so powerful that we get stuck in it, frozen in the moment. With the passage of time, when we recall those memories there will be a different experience.

What Remains

My work explores lived experience in which I invite the viewer to engage in the attributing visual form. By the observable recording as documentation, allegory, moral story, historical fact or symbolic statement, I aim to introduce a participatory element to my work involving collective memory, sensory stimulation and emotion.

The primary subject within my practice is one of emotion, almost all of my drawings are of my girlfriend. I am expressing my feelings for her through these laborious creations. The drawings are permanent, a physical representation and memorialisation of our relationship.
