Verona is a historic city in northern Italy with roots dating back to Roman times. It was an important Roman settlement, and landmarks like the Verona Arena still stand today. During the Middle Ages, Verona flourished under the Scaliger family and became a cultural and political center. The city is also famous as the setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
