when you first moved to los angeles, you didn't know where the best place to go was. there were so many beaches down the coast, you weren’t sure which were more geared for tourists, locals, or which would be crowded by loud college students getting in the way of your peaceful moment.

you decided to give them each a shot, taking visits to santa barbra all the way down laguna beach.

when you started dating vinnie, he even took you to his go-to spot in malibu, which was a cliff that overlooked the water which not too many people knew about.

vinnie didn't show it to just anyone, he liked to keep it his little secret for when he needed it most.

but when he met you, he instantly wanted to share it with you. he knew you were something special and he wanted to take you to his equally special spot.

it's been a year since he first took you there, and you’ve continued to go every chance you both could get.

you even found yourself visiting the hidden spot on your own sometimes when you were in desperate need of some peace and quiet from your hectic life.

it was no longer just vinnie's spot, but yours too.

tonight you found yourselves back there after a long business dinner with vinnie’s team. 

vinnie pulled up to the usual parking spot and you admired the amazing sunset in front of you.

you had gotten there perfectly at golden hour, the sky looking radiant with different tones of orange and pink bouncing off each other. it was truly a beautiful sight to behold.

you both stepped out of the car and moved to sit on the edge of the cliff with your hands intertwined and your head resting comfortably on vinnie’s shoulder. 

you stayed like that for quite some time until vinnie abruptly got up and walked back to the car. you heard him turn up the music that wasplaying through the speakers before rummaging through his trunk.

he returned with a hoodie now in his hands. “you seemed cold,” he stated, reaching out to give you the old sweatshirt.

you smiled, pulling it over the short dress you had on that did little to keep you warm. he was right, you were freezing. 

when you were finished putting on the sweatshirt, he motioned for you to stand with him. he interlaced your hands, helping you up before bringing you into his chest. 

you could hear “say you won’t let go”, one of your favorite songs, begin to play from inside the car as vinnie spun you around and started dancing. 

vinnie pressed his finger against your chin to tilt your head up to face him. “this song’s for you, baby.” his hands moved over your face as he continued to stroke your cheek while softly singing the lyrics to you. 

you hummed along with him, not feeling confident that your voice wouldn’t ruin the sweet moment. 

he sang the rest of the song to you while you were both completely lost in each other’s eyes.

when the song ended, he brought you closer, your soft lips touching as you deepened the kiss. you moved your hands to play with his curls, while his moved to hold you by the waist.

you loved vinnie and supported all of his endeavors, but really? it seemed like video games were all that he cared about recently.

“morning vin,” you called out. 

no response.

you groaned, getting up from the bed and walking over to where his desk was stationed the corner of the room. “morning vin. you have a good flight home?” you asked while rubbing his shoulders.

“what? oh yeah, it was fine.” was all you got in a mumbled reply.

you rolled your eyes, deciding you needed coffee and breakfast before you dealt with him anymore.

following a big cup of coffee and some waffles, you got distracted with a few extra chores you’d been meaning to get done.

it wasn’t for another couple hours that you headed back up to see vinnie. and much to your dismay, you walked into the bedroom to the sight of him still streaming. wasn’t he tired?

“hey bub, i was thinking we go get lunch today? check out that new greek place that opened up in town.” 

you were met with silence.

this time you decided to push a little further until you got a proper answer. “vin, did you hear me? how does that sound?” you questioned, clearly irritated.

“what? babe, can’t you see i’m busy? i don’t have time for-”

“for what? me?” you madly interrupted him.

“what, no. that’s not what i was going to say.” he paused. “but you know now that you bring it up, maybe i don’t always have time for you. is there anything wrong with that?”

you could tell he was growing more heated each second that went by, and you weren’t big on confrontation. you cared about this relationship too much to say something you’d instantly regret due to a moment of anger. so you presumed it would be best to let the matter go for the time being and return to it when you were both feeling much less emotional.

“i guess not.” you sighed, “i’ll just see you later.” and with that, you were out the door. not giving him the opportunity to respond.

after leaving the house in a rush, you realized you had no where to go. you drove in circles a couple times before choosing to stick with your original plan of having lunch at the authentic greek restaurant. only instead of being accompanied by the love of your life, you were sat alone at a table for one.

but you didn’t mind. you weren’t going to let some boy ruin your day. especially one that would rather play video games than spend time with his girlfriend.

you enjoyed a delicious meal but still wasn’t ready to head home quite yet. so for the remainder of the afternoon, you partook in a little bit of retail therapy.

you hit up all your favorite stores, shifting through what seemed like an endless amount of racks, and trying on a ton cute pieces. by the time you had made it through all of best shops on the block, you were left carrying way too many bags to even count. okay, now it was time to go home, you concluded.

the last thing you expected when you stepped foot through the front door of your home was a trail of flowers leading you down the hall, up the stairs, and into your bedroom. 

at the end of the trail was a remorseful looking vinnie holding out a bouquet of your favorite flowers with a basket of all sorts of goodies, including face masks and candy, perched next to him. 

“baby i am so sorry for lashing out at you earlier. i was just so stressed after going to that gaming thing and seeing all these other streamers do so much better than me, it made me feel like i wasn’t working hard enough. but i realize now that i should not have taken that out on you. it is no excuse and it will never happen again, i promise. i love you so much, i don't ever want to lose you. can you please forgive me?”

you slowly stepped over to him, wrapping your arms around his waist while mumbling out, “yes i forgive you. just please don’t do it again, it made me sad. i thought you didn’t want to spend time with me.”

“no baby, never.” he grabbed your face with both his hands so you would look up at him. “i'm sorry for making you sad and thinking i don’t want to spend time with you. i would spend every minute with you if it were possible, my sweet girl. never think otherwise.” he then leaned in to place a kiss to your forehead, the tip of your nose, and finally your lips. 

“i rented all of your favorite movies, and got all of your favorite snacks. oh and that face mask you like, so we can have a night just us. and then tomorrow i’m taking you to lunch at that greek place you were talking about.” 

“oh vin, you didn’t have to do all this.”

“this is the first time i've seen you smile all day, i most definitely had to do all this.” 

6 years old

"i'm vincent!" the cheery boy introduces himself. "im y/n!" she does the same. they are at the playground right now, y/n playing in the sandbox.

"can i play with you?" he asks her. she looks up at him, squinting her eyes due to the bright sun. "sure!" she smiles.

"yay!" he yells excitedly as he steps into the sandbox, sitting right next to y/n.

"vincent! you are gonna get sand all over you," his mom tells him as she walks closer to the two kids. "b-but mom," he whines.

"no buts, get out, come on," she motions her hands for him to follow her. "but i just started playing," he complains.

she sighs, not saying anything for a second. "sweetie, is your mommy here?" she asks the little girl.

"yes that's me," another voice says from behind vincent's mom.

"can i have your phone number so they can have a play date? my name is maria," she asks y/n's mom.

"of course. my name is maria as well," she chuckles. handing her, her phone. "our mom's have the same name," vincent gasps, making y/n giggle.

"let's go vincent, we have to go home, you're dad came home from work early," maria tells her son. "okay bye y/n!" he hugs her, making both mom's awe.

"bye vincent!" she hugs back, giggling when he pecks her cheek.

16 years old

"she cheated on me," vinnie cried, as he hugged y/n. her feeling nothing but sympathy for him. she hates seeing him sad, but she can't do anything besides be there for him.

"hey, look at me," she lifts his head up, grabbing his shoulders and staring deeply into his eyes. "she is not worth it," that's the only thing she can say, because she is not good at comforting people.

"you will find the right girl eventually," she said smiling at the sad boy placing a kiss on his forehead, something he loved.

"he's my friend!" y/n yells at vinnie. "friends don't cuddle with each other!" he yells back. "i make one friend, who happens to be a guy and you get mad at me?" she lowers her tone, not wanting to yell anymore.

he stays silent, knowing that he is upset for no reason, he had seen her and a guy cuddling in her bed while watching a movie. something only he did with her.

"i was jealous," he admits, looking down, not daring to make eye contact. "jealous? of what," she scoffs. "i don't want you to replace me," he looks up, looking into her brown eyes.

"vinnie, you had a whole ass girlfriend, you did the things we use to do, i never said anything. so you cannot say that i'm gonna replace you because you basically replaced me when you got in a relationship ," he looks down, knowing that she is right.

"i know, i'm sorry," he apologizes. they both sit in silence, neither of them knowing what to say. they are both not the best at communicating, vinnie tends to be more complicated with his emotions, while y/n is more outspoken and always says what's in her mind even if it's rude. not a good combination.

"it's okay," she breaks the silence as she engulfs him in a hug making him smile. "so tell me about this guy," he wiggles his eyebrows when he pulls away. she blushes at the thought of her friend that happens to be her crush, "well he..."

17 years old

"fuck you aaron," y/n spits looking at her boyfriend of 11 months in bed, naked, with another girl.

she grabs her car and immediately goes to vinnie's house. they both like each other's comfort and they go to one another when they are sad or feeling lonely.

once she gets there, she wipes a few tears that left both her eyes.

she knocks on the door. waiting impatiently for vinnie to open the door.

"hey- what's wrong?" he asks when he sees the short girl, wearing an oversized hoodie, who is looking down.

"he cheated," she whispered. as soon as he hears her tone, he immediately wraps his arms around her, knowing that all she wants is comfort. she was there for him when he got cheated on, now it's his turn to do the same.

"let's go watch a movie," he suggests, making her smile against his chest. he always knew how to make her feel better.

"hey y/n," he says, wanting to tell her something. he had been growing feelings for y/n since way before she started dating aaron.

he was going to tell her, but aaron got her first. now that he is out of the picture, he can now possibly have a chance.

"what," she looks at him, making his cheeks go red, nerves running through his body.

"it's um," he takes a deep breath. "i like you," he blurts out and she smiles. "i like you, more than a friend, a-and it's okay i-if you don't l-like me back, because you and aaron broke up a few months ago and we are best friends and you probably don't wanna ruin our friendship, and to be honest that's kind of an ove-" he starts ranting.

"vinnie, shut up," she puts her finger on his plump lips, making him blush from embarrassment. "i like you too, ever since me and aaron broke up, i grew feelings for you," she says, smiling because she finally admitted her feelings after months of feeling the need to hide them.

once she says that, vinnie smashes his lips to hers. she doesn't kiss back for a few seconds, due to being shocked, but eventually she does. they both smile, happy that they both feel the same way.

18 years old

"so..." vinnie starts. right now they are at a cliff, hand in hand. ever since they confessed their feeling to each other, they have been inseparable, but they aren't dating.

"we confessed our feelings to each other a few months ago," he starts, turning to face her. "and i wanna say, i love you incredibly, i know that it may seem early to say that, but it's true. i love you, being your best friend was the best feeling ever, but now being able to have a chance to kiss you, hug you, and overall show you love, surpasses that feeling by a lot, will you officially be my girlfriend?" he finishes his speech.

"i would love to be your girlfriend," she grabs the back of his neck, pulling him down. they both connect their lips, smiling like idiots.

"and vinnie..." she pulls away. "hm?" he hums. "i love you too," she smiles seeing his eyes widen. "i love you, god i love you," he grabs her chin and connects their lips.

19 years old

"vinnie..." she quietly whispers to her boyfriend, her mascara is smudged, her eyes are baggy and they irritate from crying.

"what happened baby?" he asks, concerned because he hates seeing his girlfriend so upset. "i-i," she tries to speak, but she's so scared.

"we can just cuddle if you want," she shakes her head instantly. "i have to tell you," she croaks out. she grabs his hand and they both sit down on the bed.

"i-i'm," she whimpers. "i'm pregnant," she finally says. his eyes widen when she hands him the pregnancy test.

"is this real?" he asks, looking at the test. "yes vin, it's okay if you wanna leave, i understand," he looks at her, shocked that she would even think that he would do that.

"look at me," he grabs her chin, making her look into his eyes. "i would never leave you, i obviously wanted kids with you for the longest, but i never expected it to be so soon," he pecks her lips.

"you want to keep it?" he asks her. "i think i do, i always dreamed of being a mom, and especially when it's with you, imagine a baby me or baby you running around the house," they both smile at the thought.

"we are gonna be parents!" he yells, jumping up and down in excitement. she laughs at his sudden outburst. "i love you," he grabs her hands, making her stand up and he attaches their lips.

20 years old

"AHH!" y/n pushes. she is in pain and she's out of breath. "one more big push and we'll be able to see the head, then it'll be smooth from there," the nurse tries to assure her.

"you got this baby, imagine yourself taking a fat shit," he tries to make her feel better, but it ends up with her grabbing a pillow and throwing it at him. "not helping vincent!" she yells angrily making the nurses and doctors snicker.

"on three, one, two three," y/n starts pushing as hard as she can. vinnie's eyes widen when he sees something come out of y/n's vaginal opening. "I SEE IT!" he yells.

"FUCK!" y/n yells, tears flowing out of her eyes from the pain. the only thing she cares about is having her baby girl.

"one more push and the head will be out," the nurse tells her. y/n nods, she starts pushing and pushing.

vinnie's eyes widen when he sees her pooping.

"the head is out!" the doctor exclaims. making vinnie let out a deep breath. "if you push hard enough, then the shoulders will be out and we will be able to pull her out," the nurse puts a wet cloth on y/n's forehead.

"you got this baby," vinnie holds her hand, the only thing he wants is for y/n to deliver the baby successfully without any problems.

y/n screams in agony, feeling the worse pain she has ever felt. once she is done pushing, she breaths heavily. "she's out," the doctor says. making everyone cheer happily.

"dad, do you wanna cut the umbilical cord," he asks vinnie.

vinnie looks at me with tears in his eyes and immediately grabs the sterile scissors and cuts the cord.

the nurse grabs the newborn baby, cleans off the blood and wraps it in a blanket, hearing her cry.

"good job my love," vinnie places a kiss on y/n's forehead as she drifts off to sleep.

25 years old

"daddy," their daughter, nyla calls vinnie. "why are you never home?" she asks him. making him frown at the question. "do you love us?" she asks, vinnie feels his heart drop at the unexpected question.

"of course i love you princess, daddy just has a lot of work. i can ask if i can work less okay?" he kisses her forehead. "okay i love you," she says, making his heart melt.

"i love you too baby," he picks her up and lays down with her on her bed, waiting for her to go to sleep.

once she falls asleep, he gets up and walks to y/n and his shared room. he steps inside and sees y/n sleeping, her back facing him.

"hey," he whispers, sighing when he hears no response.

he knows that he hasn't been giving either of them any attention, but his boss has been giving him more tasks, which is causing him to work more hours.

y/n opens her eyes, after hearing his voice. "hey," she whispers. "i'm sorry," he apologizes, laying down next to her, his head resting on her chest as she plays with his hair. "don't be, i know that your job has been stressful lately."

"why don't you quit your job? we both have money and we can get more from social media. since we have millions of followers," she suggests. "i don't know, i just wanted to see what it would be like to have a normal life," he sighs.

"at least consider it? you can start streaming more often, which i know you enjoy doing," she says making him smile.

"i love you soon to be mrs. hacker," he smirks. "i love you too mr. hacker," she mimics his smirk. as they both look at y/n's engagement ring.

26 years old

"you may state your vows," the conductor says. "y/n, since we were six years old, i have loved you. i remember the first time i kissed your cheek, we were both red as our mom's just stared at us. even through after all of our arguments, and our special moments, i promise forever to love, respect, trust, and protect you and give you the best of myself, for I know that together we will build a life far better than either of us could imagine alone. I choose you. I'll choose you over and over and over, without pause, without doubt, I'll keep choosing you." vinnie breathes out and wipes a tear that fell from his eye.

"vinnie, i remember the moment we told each other that we liked each other, every action we made at the moment, it's tattooed in my head. i remember our first kiss, our first hug, when you made that stupid joke while i was giving birth, every moment we shared together, i remember. and i'm very happy and excited to see what the future holds for us. i promise to show nothing but love and trust for you and our baby girl. i love you," she finishes as they both hold hands.

someone comes with a pillow, that is holding the rings. vinnie grabs y/n's ring. he holds her hand and puts it on her ring finger.

y/n doing the same thing, both of them smiling like crazy.

"do you, vincent cole hacker, take y/n y/l/n as your lawfully wedded wife. to promise to love and cherish her, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, for better and for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her, for so long as you shall live," the conductor asks vinnie.

"i do," vinnie immediately states, a few tears falling from his eyes.

"do you, y/n y/l/n, take vincent cole hacker as your lawfully wedded husband. to promise to love and cherish him, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, for better and for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto him, for so long as you shall live," the conductor asks y/n.

"i do," she wipes a few tears.

"congratulations, you may kiss the bride," the conductor tells the groom. vinnie wastes no time to attach their lips.

they hear cheering as vinnie picks up y/n and spins her around.

80 years old

"i think i'm running out of time honey," vinnie tells his wife as they are both laying down in bed.

"don't say that," y/n tells her husband.

"you know, i'm so happy we are together. i cant picture myself with anyone but you, after our kids moved out, it reminded me of when we didn't have kids, you know? i love you y/n y/l/n, my love, my soulmate, the woman of my dreams," y/n wipes a few tears that fell from his eye.

"i love you too, vincent cole hacker," she pecks his lips. 

next morning

"vinnie," y/n shakes her husband, who is not waking up. she immediately grows worried, she checks his pulse, a few tears falling when she feels nothing, "he's gone," she whispers.

81 years old

after vinnie passed away, y/n was upset, but she knew that she would see him eventually. because her time is running out too.

she goes to bed, slowly drifting off to sleep in the empty bed, where vinnie once layed. remembering the times he would lay on her chest and sometimes drool on her. or the times he would rub circles anywhere on her body because they both loved it.

she wakes up

y/n wakes up to someone's arm wrapped around her, she turns her head, seeing vinnie laying down. he looks like he did when he was a teenager. she moves his arm and stands up.

she looks down at her body, seeing that it doesn't look old and wrinkly anymore.

"vinnie," she shakes him, making him stir in his sleep. he groans, his eyes fluttering open. once he looks at y/n his eyes widen. he holds her face, making sure that he isn't hallucinating.

"i missed you so much," he attaches their lips, she immediately kisses back.

"why do we look young and why can i see you?" she questions, still confused.

"let me dumb it down for you," he says making her stare at him. "i'm kidding," he chuckles at her reaction.

"we are in the afterlife, we look like how we did when we admitted our feelings, which is 17. and we can watch our kids from here," he explains to her.

"i missed you," she sighs deeply, taking in the fact that she is back with the love of her life.

"i love you so much baby," he kisses her deeply, her returning the kiss.

"i love you too."

“ What the fuck? I just had it.. " You spoke, pausing, before looking around where you were standing.

You looked around the halls, some students in there giving you puzzled looks, you checked for any bright sparkles pointing out.

You began cursing at yourself, you knew how special that ring was and you just lost it like that.

You debated on going to look in the lost and found, maybe someone found it and returned it? the ring was beautiful, they probably wouldn’t of returned it.

You felt a tap on your shoulder making you quickly leave the thought you were in and you saw none other than your ex, Vinnie Hacker.

“ Hey, Vin. " You spoke, an evident frown on your face, you and Vinnie stayed on good terms after the breakup, it wasn’t a huge argument and you both just didn’t have time for a relationship.

“ I’m guessing your looking for this? " He questioned, he smirked down at you as he twirled the ring around his fingers, knowing he was right.

You nodded your head, sheepishly, a smile on your face, “ I thought I lost it forever. ” You sighed, the worry that was in your face was washed away.

You reached up for the ring but he held it up higher, you rolled you eyes at his behavior.

He chuckled, “ Still wearing the promise ring I gave you? "

“ I- yeah, we ended things on good terms and I really liked the ring.. " You spoke, pausing before an awkward silence took over, making you look at the ground.

“ Mhm, " He spoke, putting his finger under your chin and slowly lifting it up, he showed you his hand, which had the promise ring that you had given him.

“ Hm, and you still have the ring I gave you. " I smirked, he brushed a strand of hair behind my hair, making me gulp, which he didn’t notice.

“ Would you wanna go on a date with me soon?" He asked, making my eyes go wide. I don’t know what I was expecting but I know it definitely wasn’t that.

“ I thought we agreed we didn’t have time for a relationship? " I questioned, furrowing my eyebrows, wanting to say yes to his offer.

“ Yeah, but I changed my mind. I think it’s fate you lost your ring and I somehow found it because you’ve been on my mind this past month. "

“ I’ve been thinking of you as well, and I wanna try this again. I think it will work out. " I spoke, he smiled and I stood on my tippy toes and took the ring back, putting it back on my finger.

He suddenly leaned down and kissed me, cupped bc my cheeks and luckily no one was in the halls or that would’ve been very embarrassing.

seeing the words ‘olivia rodrigo’ in neon lights while holding the hand of your lover, was a memory you’d never forget. the only tickets he could manage, were in general admission so you were slightly mobbed while in the line for the venue, many people recognizing the two of you from tiktok.

sure, it was somewhat annoying, but they were all much kinder than you expected and thankfully, not too many people bothered you after getting pictures. you guys had pit seats and you had never been to a concert before.

your blood pressure was through the roof and you were on the verge of bouncing off of the walls. a security guard had recognized vinnie and brought the two of you to a section outside of the pit where bars would separate you from the general public— which you were immensely thankful for. being rubbed up against a bunch of fans, just was not the move.

when the show started, people seated in front of you stood up and you realized how shitty your view was, despite being so close, everyone was just too goddamn tall, that you couldn’t see anything. you always hated being shorter than everyone and the silhouette of the back of peoples heads, had haunted you since you were young. you had lightly bounced up, trying to see olivia who was almost completely blocked out of view, her floating head the only thing you could see. vinnie noticed immediately and grabbed you, placing you on his shoulders. you had one hand in his hair and another waving around as you shouted out the lyrics, seeing olivia crystal clear.

“that was fucking incredible.” you paced in your socks around the bedroom of the loft you were staying at, vinnie laying stomach flat on the bed, admiring you with his head in his hands.

“i mean…i can’t feel my legs and my throat hurts like hell but, god that was incredible.”

“well, i’m glad you had fun.” he cooed.

“of course i had fun! oh my goodness, today has been one of the best days literally ever.” you sighed and sat on the side of the bed, your legs dangling over the edge. you checked the time on your phone, “it’s late but i’m starving..”

“you want food?”

“yeah, do u?”

“sure, i don’t mind. what do you want?” he sat upright and pulled out his phone, ording your favorite.

once you guys finished eating, you decided to do the rest of your laundry before bed. it was almost 3am and you were still jumping with excitement, like a kid who had too much candy.

“do she know how proud i am she was created? with the courage to unlearn all of their hatred.” you sang softly, humming the rest of the song. vinnie had taken a shower and was blow drying his hair so he couldn’t hear you.

you were listening to music through your headphones, droning out the noises coming from the bathroom. you folded the small articles of clothing, your brain associating the music to the core memory you had just experienced.

“and when the clouds won’t iron out and monsters creep into your house…” you sung, oblivious to the boy watching you, his back against the wall outside of the bathroom and his arms crossed. it didn’t matter how much your throat hurt, you loved singing along to songs, even if you weren’t the best at it.

“and every door is hard to close….” you bent over momentarily, picking up a sock that fell off the bed and continuing to fold the clean laundry.

“well i hope you know how proud i am you were created. with the courage to unlearn all of their hatred..” grabbing the completed pile of shirts, you turned to put them in the drawer beside the tv, seeing how you’d be living there for a few weeks.

“but god, i hope that your happier today..” you paused and closed your eyes, letting yourself have a moment with the outro of the song.

“cause i love you..”

“and i hope that you’re okay.” vinnie mouthed the words as he heard you finish the song. he began clapping, and since the song ended, you could hear it.

jumping slightly, you grew flustered. you didn’t sing much infront of vinnie unless there was music playing, so knowing he saw you sing fully acappella, was scary.

“oh stop, i sounded like a dying cat.”

“oh come on, you’re not THAT bad.” he joked pulling the covers up while you finished putting the laundry away.

“i’m sorry you had to hold me up all night..” vinnie wouldn’t admit it, but his shoulders were slightly sore from caring you all those hours, but he didn’t care. it was worth it, seeing how happy you were. plus, you were so little that your legs fit just fine around his shoulders.

“did you have fun?”

“yeah! i bought merch, y/n! of course i had fun.” he exclaimed.

“fine, but only because you’re so cute..” he leaned down to kiss your nose before pulling his shirt out of the bag and watching you get dressed. it was just a standard tour shirt with olivia on the front and the tour dates on the back.

“let me see how your little five foot body looks wearing my shirt.” he laid under the covers, his arms behind his head as he leaned against the headboard.

“wow, so scary!” he put his hands up and mocked you as you spun around to face him.

“shut up! i didn’t ask to be short..” you huffed, crossing your arms.

“that looks so good on you, i—just have my children, right now—“

“what?!” you giggled, taken off guard as he swooped you up and placed you on his lap, the blankets in between you.

“yeah, but it’s my first time seeing rain in paris.” sliding open the window, you stuck a hand out, feeling the rain hit your palm. vinnie sauntered behind you, bending over to place his chin on your head.

it was when he’d do it in public.

the entirety of coachella, vinnie was a constant stick up your ass. instead of being able to enjoy the performances, vinnie would ‘accidentally’ kick the heels of your feet. you’d turn and yell at him to stop, but he’d keep going. constantly stepping on your shoes and bumping into you, you were surprised that you hadn’t fallen yet. to say that it was childish and annoying was an understatement and you ended up having nai stand behind you to block the boy from kicking at your heels.

he, of course, didn’t do the same thing to nai when she took your place, and instead was a complete gentleman, asking the girl if she could see okay and if she needed water.

you, though? never. you just get picked on and annoyed by the boy until a high-pitched ringing floods through your head and you have to blame it on the speakers instead.

texting y/b/f/n, you double checked to make sure that she was ready before setting the phone up and looking over your appearance in the camera. the house was completely silent, a rare occurrence that only happened when everyone was out, or at least it was supposed to be.

hearing the sound of footsteps leading to the familiar room beside yours, you felt your heart sink. rolling your eyes and leaving the phone set up, you quickly marched into vinnie’s room to see him doing exactly what you feared he’d do— start a stream.

“seriously?! mind knocking first?!” he threw his hands up in the air, his headphones wrapped around his neck.

“what the hell are you doing here, vinnie?”

“streaming, what’s it look like.”

“why aren’t you with everyone else at jaden’s party?!”

his confused expression was a complete façade and you knew it, your arms crossed and jaw clenched as you waited for his shitty excuse.

“i left early! already told fans i’d be on tonight.” he shrugged, holding his attention on his computer and clicking away at his mouse as if you weren’t even there.

“yeah right!” you scoffed.

“it’s true!” his gaze never left the screen, playing with his bottom lip with his thumb and leaning forwards to read something.

“vinnie, just be quiet, okay? i have a stream tonight with y/b/f/n and she’s really nervous so it can’t go wrong okay?”

“stream?” vinnie looked at you, suddenly interested in your words.

“yes, just on instagram. we were gonna talk about our predictions on the new stranger things season but she’s never met my fans before so we are just gonna go live on my spam account so there’s less people and it’s more chill. she’s really, really nervous and i need everything to go well, okay?”

“okay.”

“i’m serious vinnie, no bullshit.”

you started the live and once y/b/f/n was ready, you invited her into the stream. she had always been super shy and the idea of you being an influencer was quite frightening to her. the two of you had been friends since sophmore year and had always done everything together, and you had made a promise that internet fame wouldn’t split you two up.

sure, your fans had heard you talk about her before and some of them had done some digging and followed her, but for the most part, they didn’t know much about the girl and that didn’t sit right with you.

y/b/f/n was a huge part of your life and you were sick of leaving her out of your content, but at the same time, you wanted her to be comfortable.

everything was going fine and there were only around 4k viewers which was a perfect amount for you to get y/b/f/n started on. after introducing her to everyone, you two began to answer questions and read comments— all of them extremely positive but that was to be expected since it was your spam account. your main account was where all the hype house fans where while your spam was a bit more personal. you loved using it as a way to talk to your fan pages and get ideas from people without all the madness.

“ugh, i’m sorry, can you guys hear that?” you questioned, pulling your hair back and trying to keep your cool as vinnie’s loud screams echoed and streamed through the walls.

“yeah, is that vinnie?” y/b/f/n asked.

“yep.”

“do they know about your guys’ feud?”

you weren’t expecting y/b/f/n to say anything about it and assumed she knew not to, but clearly she didn’t. your eyes widened and looked through the comments.

“uh, guys. she’s kidding, we don’t have a fued. hold on, i’m sorry. i’ll be right back.” you spoke through the sounds of slamming keyboards and screeches coming from the boys room.

“vinnie?!” you called out, peeking through his door.

you rolled your eyes and closed the door, making your way back to your room.

“sorry guys, i can’t stand being roommates with her. she hates fun and sucks the fun out of everything i swear.” vinnie read through the comments, people asking why you shushed him. “she’s doing a live stream on her spam account, you guys should go tell her to leave me alone, goddamn it!” he hit his table, laughing. “i wanna play valorant in peace. fucking christ.”

people in vinnie’s chat began commenting amongst themselves, repeating the username to your spam for viewers to access.

4k viewers turned into 11k and the once kind comments were now blatantly attacking you and y/b/f/n. you could feel her become overwhelmed and rushed to end the live, texting her to make sure she was okay.

the comments were flooded with the familiar name, vinnie.

people accusing you of pestering him and bothering him on stream, while others were making rude comments on you and your friend. not only that, but your followers on your spam skyrocketed and not in a good way.

you knew not all of his fans would like you but you had no idea why they would all attack you like that, and they especially had no right to attack your best friend.

you panicked, wanting to go scream at the boy on the other side of the wall but knowing it would only make it worse.

“fucking vinnie.” you whined, trying not to breakdown then and there. you wanted to go tell him off but remembered that he was still streaming. you instead sent him a message.

vinnie opened the message on stream, frantically leaving the game and saying that he had to go.

gulping, he tore off his headset and made his way to your room, stopping outside of the door as he heard a noise.

sniffles.

you were crying.

vinnie had never heard you cry before and he never expected it to hurt him as badly as it did. he knocked lightly.

you poked your head out from under the blanket, the room completely pitch black.

“go away!”

he could hear the pain in your voice and he wasn’t sure what to do. the only thing he wanted to do was something that he couldn’t, so he sat outside of the room, his legs crossed and facing the door.

“i didn’t think that they would actually do it.”

“yeah, right!” you cried, shoving your face in your pillow.

“y/n, i swear. i didn’t think that they would do it, and i’m so sorry—“

“i don’t want you apology vinnie!”

he looked down at his lap, contemplating what you were thinking. “then what do you want?”

“i want you to leave me alone. just stop talking to me, stop competing with me and pretend that i don’t exist unless other people are around. not everything is a fucking joke, vinnie! if you don’t like me, fine, then just fucking ignore me! that’s what i want.”

it took everything in him not to pry open that door and tell you just how wrong you were. tell you how much he in fact did like you and help wipe your tears away, but he didn’t.

instead, he walked away with the guilt weighing him down and tried his best to sleep through your cries.

you were about just starting your second trimester and you were showing a little more now. you guys hadn’t told his fans just yet. you had both figured you’d announce when you either gave birth or felt ready. you weren’t too active on social media, due to your anxiety surrounding dating someone so heavily in the public and just the fact that you didn’t like it.

but to keep up appearances, you guys had taken a lot of pictures, filmed tiktoks and kept them in your drafts along with “private but not secret” type pictures to make it seem like everything was normal.

you had been clad in a baggy hoodie that you had stolen from vinnie and a pair of sweats when you reentered the room with an overflowing laundry hamper. you weren’t aware vinnie was streaming so when he caught sight of you carrying it in, he turned off his camera and muted himself.

“baby, you gotta be careful.” he fretted, immediately getting up and taking the basket from you.

“vin, it’s just clothes.” you muttered, rolling your eyes as his took your face in his hands.

“yeah but that’s far too heavy for you to be carrying right now, grump ass.” he teased, pressing a kiss to the tip of your nose.

after finishing folding the laundry and putting everything away, you said hi to vinnie’s stream before taking off to the kitchen and deciding to make yourself mac and cheese. after you finished cooking everything and dishes out some for you and vinnie, you hunted for a container to put the left overs in. after grumbling over the lack of containers in your cupboards, you found one of the top shelf. without a second thought, you grabbed a chair from the table and pulled it up to the counter. you had just stepped on the counter when vinnie walked around the corner, letting out a loud “what the fuck?“ before running over to you and holding you steady as you grabbed the container.

“what the fuck are you doing bubs?” he exclaimed, trying to help you down, to which you just waved him off as you stepped down on the chair and then the floor.

“vincent cole.” you warned, getting irritated with him constantly hovering over you as you did simple tasks.

“m’sorry baby, i just know how reckless you can be sometimes and i get worried that you’re gonna get hurt.” he murmured, his arms wrapping around you from behind as he pressed a kiss to your clothed shoulder.

“i know baby, but i promise i wouldn’t do anything i’m not supposed to and i’d ask for help if i need it. i’m not helpless y’know?“ you giggled, tilting your head as he littered gentle kisses to the side of your throat.

after that, he wasn’t as overbearing and hover-y whenever you did daily tasks. although, you were stubborn and took longer to admit when you needed help. you were currently trying to move the couch to retrieve the remote that had fallen under it.

“vinnie!” you called out, groaning frustratedly as you could barely move the couch an inch.

“yeah?“ he yelled back as he entered the living room, laughing as you sat back on your haunches, huffing stubbornly.

“can you tilt the couch back so i can grab the remote, please?“ you mumbled, ending your request with a fake pout and your infamous puppy dog eyes as he nodded, walking around the edge of the couch and tilting it on its back legs, allowing you to grab the remote.

“i’m glad you’re not being stubborn anymore.” he taunted, sitting beside you and pulling you into his lap.
