Haeng Seon’s food an obvious part of this. She’s a cook but she sells ordinary side dishes. When she sees Chi Yeol in front of the store, Sua’s mom even says she “expected him to have a more sophisticated palate” because it’s not fancy enough for rich people like them. So when he suggests having a party to the family, he invites them to a western gourmet restaurant. Very far from the party they had at home to celebrate Hae Yi’s perfect grade in math in the previous episode… The family feels awkward, out of place, in this fancy and cold restaurant. When Chi Yeol asks to have every course served at the same time, it feels like home again. They speak again, eat big bites of food and food goes from one plate to another. The table was so big for the four of them before, now it feels like it got smaller and they sit closer to each other.

1. song joong ki in all his glory - you want pathetic old man with glasses? check. you want adorable 20 year old college student? check. you want every shade of acting including comedy, romance, AND drama ? check check CHECK. man put his entire joongkiussy into this role.

2. historical drama disguised as a reincarnation fantasy drama disguised as a fuck capitalism drama disguised as succession but more kdrama-y - you have it all here folks we got a messy ass family fighting to become their dad’s heir and a badass female prosecutor who wants everyone jailed and a man switching bodies and going back in time like WHEW you won’t ever be bored

3. three YES THREE episodes a week - the writer said more crack cocaine for everyone yes sir 🫡

4. just like really good acting all over - they put up a sign in the jtbc lawn and said only bitches who can act are allowed here and everyone else was shown the door

5. a big ol’ mystery and plot that’ll have you looking like that one conspiracy theory meme (you know it) - what is better than having your brain cells firing at max speed while trying to piece together how exactly all this shit will go down?
