Hey it's me,

I really have a soft spot in my heart for this manga. Maybe it's because of the looming dread from my upcoming unemployment. Or maybe it's because of the perpetual statis of work. Nevertheless, the message is to never stop moving forward. And, maybe along the way, something is beautiful is going to happen.

Just thinking about all those cancelled sequels makes me so depressed. Game development is a difficult profession, even more so if you have spicy beliefs. With so much production bottlenecks and the amount of haggling with the producers for a bit more funding, it really is a miracle that Disco came to be.

Maybe the ending of Disco does make sense, abrupt as it may be. Jean Vicquemare takes you back to the precinct (or not if you got too drunk), you realize that your time in Martinaise is done. The system integrates you back into itself, as a gear in its perpetually moving clockwork. Be careful not to change your shape too much or you'll be stuck without a place to fit in.

It really just makes me think of Robert, Helen, and Rostov getting fired after taking an extended leave post-release. ZA-UM is a video game "company" after all; they make games. And if you can't make a game, what good are you?
